a quick update
🕑 Added 2017-08-27 23:35:09 +0000 UTC hey guys, I'm still not back yet. A new version is probably going to be a while away because I'm still healing from my tendinosis. It can take up to 6 months to heal and I'm currently into the fourth month of dealing with it. I've been working on the game in bits and pieces, but nothing too substantial for a new version. I would like to thank everyone for sticking with me throughout all of this, I really hate not being able to work on the game and provide you guys with anything but my health comes first. The worst part about all of this is that I can't really work a quote-unquote real job right now because I need to rest my hands, so this is my only real form of income. This is why I am so happy that people have decided to stick with me through this, because this patreon is pretty much keeping me alive right now. It's paying my rent and all my other expenses that don't get covered by my student money. I understand the lack of progress can be a bit frustrating, especially for those who have characters in the game, but I do have to ask for a bit more patience right now as I continue to heal. Hopefully I will be able to get back to work within a few months, but nothing is set in stone. I'd like to talk about the status of the game a bit. There will be a companion post with some more specific details for those who have characters in the game, but I have recently been feeling a bit disappointed in how the game is currently organized. I've been adding so much content recently that it's been hard for me to change the mechanics into something that is more polished and enjoyable to play. I feel like the game is too much of a porn gallery at this point with not enough interactivity, and the more scenes I had the more difficult it is to change the mechanics. I'm currently at 70-plus scenes so any major change will have to be copied and pasted at least 70 times over, which is very tedious and prone to mistakes and bugs. plus, I haven't really been able to put in a lot of the scenes that I want to, as about 70% of the content I've put out since I started this patreon was patreon exclusive scenes. I'm fine with this, but I also would like to have the ability to creatively express myself a bit more and also to polish the mechanics of the game since the entirety of everything about it is built on a two-year-old base which I started without any idea that it would become such a sprawling Maze of content that it is now. when I come back I will firstly be focusing on polishing the mechanics and adding new things in like Health to try and make the game more interactive instead of just a pouring Gallery because most of the game play just involves going into random rooms and talking to people until you get eaten. I also would like to finish up the story that I had started on or at least make it a bit more complete. There is a good base for lots of content to be added, but I feel like that should come after I finish the main game that I originally had in mind. alongside this, I will be making a few changes to the character tier. I will be limiting the slots, and I will also be instituting a one character per person rule in order to make characters more fluid, complete, and have more scenes instead of having a bunch of characters that only have one or two scenes in the game. I want there to be more interactivity and more connectivity between the characters on the roster. This will also encourage more people to cycle through the character tier, allowing people who couldn't get into the game because the slots were full to get a chance at it when someone on pledges when they feel their character is complete. More details will be provided to those in character tier in a post following this one. I know that the next update will contain hopefully a frog, turtle, and giraffe preds, along with adding in a health mechanic, and naming a lot more of the characters and flushing them out of it. There will also be some more art added in, which I hope to release soon. I really want to focus on making the game as polished as possible because I've been mostly thinking about content over the past few months and the game has gotten a bit out of control because of it. I'd also like to say a few words about my second project, the Pokemon game that I had teased earlier. I feel like this is going to be a much more polished and enjoyable product than the hotel, because I am much more knowledgeable and I have way more of a plan of how the game will be set up and filled in then I did with the hotel. patrons will have access to a lot of betas and testing content that I will post as I work on the game, as well as the ability to vote on what Pokemon to add into the game and other things that I need opinions on, like a gender switch and other things like possibly disposal or whatever. I will not be abandoning the hotel by any means, but this is more of a clean project that I don't have to feel frustrated about in regards to changing the mechanics, and it's also something that I can creatively Express because there will be no characters that I have to add into the game or anything. So look out for that! I'm probably going to release the beta whenever I get back to work, hopefully along side of the hotel update I was talking about. lastly, a thank you. Don't worry man, you need to heal or you cant do anything, more than halfway through your 6 months right? keep your spirits up, you know where you want to go and how to get there. Thank you for being honest, that post must have been extremely painful to write if you did it in go!
