That scene between Joey and Monica was so sweet. It reminded me of when Chandler was consoling Rachel in the birthday episode. Courteney and David met on set of the first Scream which was filmed before this (but released later), so they were dating at the time this was filmed. There is deleted scene from the uncut DVD episode of Malcolm climbing Monica's balcony from the fire escape waiting for Phoebe (right after Joey and Monica's sweet moment), which is the closest we got to a scene of them together. Fun facts: After Matt LeBlanc dislocated his shoulder while shooting the previous episode, he was rushed backstage to receive medical attention and was surprised to see Anthony Edwards of ER (which was filmed nearby) dressed in character as Dr. Mark Greene. Though he knew he wasn't a real doctor, he was concerned about whether or not he also suffered a head injury as well 😂 The music in the scene when Malcolm stalks Phoebe is the same played in 1x03 when Chandler is smoking at work and tries to hide it.

So, by this point Scream had already been filmed and it's there where they met. But ironically it hadn't been released yet until after this episode aired. Scream was released in December of 1996 and this aired October 1996. I liked that in this one Monica obsessing over having a baby wasn't so much about her break up with Richard but just overall fearing of never finding that right person and having kids, which I think is very relatable for a lot of people. I love that moment between Monica and Joey, it's very sweet and also they don't get very many scenes with just the two of them. I always like when they just have a one on one moment between the guys and girls.
