I don't really know all that much about Eastern European names and such, but Mikhail is very common all over and since they said he was from a war-torn country but that area Chloe mentioned is made up, I assume they just used Yugoslavia which had wars all over in the nineties until it disbanded into a bunch of other countries in 2003 if I'm not mistaken. So that kind of tracks. I do think he's mentioned in the comics too, but I don't know any details. Oh. And edit: dude's accent is hella fake. He from Ohio.
