I am so glad that you started watching this show it is one of my absolute favorites. The best thing about the show is the way she walks I could watch her walk I'm not sure what it is but the confidence and the bounce of her walk is just amazed to me.

Lina D

The real question is will those gladiators be in suits?

Lina D

Scandal dinner was such a thing!!!! Every Thursday! I still have Scandal dinner sometimes when I need a little bit of Olivia Pope energy in my work or my personal life 🤣🤣🤣

Amanda Winner

I haven't watched this years, but I loved the first couple of seasons

Ayesha

I’m so glad you like it. Watching one of my fave shows with my virtual BFF is so cool

Zara Tahir

When I first watched this episode I was completely taken aback by how amazing it was, and how fast all the drama came. It's definitely one of my top 5 shows of all time!

Sierra Rainey Mangum

I love the look on your face at 16:22 at 20:06 and at 36:55 !!! ❤️

Quindel Jones

YESSS OMG I literally just watched this yesterday and now I see you reacting to it! Can’t describe how excited I am to get into this with ya

tvlover_117

YESSS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stormy

Ooh scandal!!

Kailah Nicole

i only got to season 4 of scandal but I do remember season 1 being amazing so I'm excited to rewatch this season!!

Leticia Schmitt

You watch so many shows and most of them I don't (just grey's, glee and heroes) but I heard about those other shows that you react to, so I know what it's about, the dynamic and stuff... I would never would stop to watch a Scandal reaction because I've watched when it was realeasing season 3 (but then I stopped between season 3 to 4, I don't know why, I loved it), but still it isn't like an important show to me (personally) to stop what I'm doing and watch a reaction video, I don't even remember ANYTHING. But when you said you're reacting to scandal I LOVE IT because it's the same "vibe" of other stuff you react to. Right up your ally, you're gonna love it.

Kartrina Muhammad

I was waiting the whole episode for you to make the connection it was Thatcher!! 😂😂

Leona Tries

Yes!!!

Mo

This show is so good! excited to rewatch with you

thisismaria27

another fun fact about Scandal: it was the first show to be live-tweeted by the entire cast each episode. we stayed up with popcorn and wine (aka scandal dinner) and watched them react to this completely bananas show just the same way we did. also a little hint: when liv and fitz had their first scene and she asked him if he slept with amanda he looked her straight in the eyes and said: “you know there is only one woman I love” and in that moment you could see he was clearly talking about her RIGHT IN FRONT OF CYRUS. I honestly don’t know how he never picked up on that shit 😂🙈

Lindsay

Yes!!!!!! I love this show sooo freakin good 🥰😃

Jana Fuller

I've always wanted to watch this show just never got around to starting it! I really enjoyed watching this episode with you maybe I'll finally get around to it!

Travis Manning

REMEMBER NO SPOILERS PLEASE - IF YOU SPOIL I WILL SEND THE GLADIATORS AFTER YOU!

Carmen Hendricks

I love, love, love this show. This is the beginning of a twisty-turny, sit on the edge of your seat saga. Scandal along with How To Get Away with Murder is riveting TV. You are going to be shook every single episode. So glad you are reacting to it.

Sandra Llewellyn

You're reaction to this was EVERYTHING!!😂 Looking forward to this journey with you (Shondaland Roxx!)

Tazo

Omg I’m so excited you’re starting this show!!!!!!

BtsOT79798

also the red head is a side character from an episode of bones....

BtsOT79798

I love this freaking show! I was actually gonna start rewatching it this week... i don't know if you recognize Cyrus (the older gentleman who works for the president and was talking with oliva at the end of the show.. his actor was also on greys anatomy as Meredith and lexi's father!

Tiffany Lemke

Lmfaoooo I was WAITING for this. Also, the president totally reminds me of Owen.

Ilsuk Yang

It's a good thing you watched some Sherlock before you watched this show because I'm sure that prepared you at least a little bit for the fast talking in this show, which I admittedly forgot about 🤣🤣🤣 I remember watching this episode for the first time and it getting me hooked immediately! I had a huge crush on Kerry Washington while watching this show! I mean, drop dead gorgeous!

Ilsuk Yang

Yeah, this first episode is a great example of show don't tell

Tiffany Lemke

Mrs Shonda Rhimes can make a show I tell ya.

Tiffany Lemke

Wooooo!!!

m

LMAOO I WAS WAITING FOR U TO NOTICE😂

Crystal

So excited you’re starting this show. the fast speaking is referred to (by Shonda and the cast) as Scandal pace and it happens all the time with multiple characters. I think Katie Lowe’s (Quinn) mentioned she had to speak that way in her audition

Crystal

It will be TGIT all over again

Travis Manning

OH MY FUCKING GOD ITS THATCHER. I WAS WONDERING WHY HIS ASS WAS KIND OF IRRITATING TO ME AND I COULDNT PLACE IT. FUCKKKKKK

Kerrie Vincent

Yessss!!! Can’t wait for the next episode, it gets SO much better :)

Glad you're getting going on this. As you pointed out, there's a lot of characters introduced in the pilot, thought I'd give you a quick breakdown of the characters and what we know so far: Olivia Pope & Associates (OPA): * Olivia Pope, our main character and the head of OPA. Based on her conversation with David Rosen, we know she used to hold a White House position, though we don't know what it was. We also know from her conversation with the President that she helped get him elected, again, role unknown as of now. * Quinn Perkins, the new girl * Abby Whelan, the redhead investigator * Huck, ex-CIA & OPA's tech guy * Stephen Finch, the english litigator who got engaged * Harrison Wright, the person who hired Quinn in the opening scene. He likes referring to the OPA crew as "gladiators in suits", to the annoyance of some of the other OPA people. White House & government: * President Fitzgerald "Fitz" Grant III * Mellie Grant, Fitz's wife & the First Lady. We only saw her for a few seconds this episode. * Cyrus Beene, the White House Chief of Staff. He's Fitz's trusted advisor, and the one communicating with Olivia about the Amanda Tanner situation this episode. * Amanda Tanner, the aide who had an affair with the President * David Rosen, Assistant US Attorney (AUSA). He's the guy Olivia woke up to "encourage" to hold off on charging the soldier, and who later shows up at OPA to arrest him. Edited to add: As you should probably already know from Greys & Private Practice, Shonda likes her actor reuse. We're kicking that off strong with Jeff Perry as Cyrus Beene, who you surprisingly didn't recognize as also portraying your good friend Thatcher Grey. Keep an eye out for more familiar faces!

nalyah

i dont think you realize how loud i screamed when I saw this notification. let me get my wine... (also I def was expecting you to say something about Thatcher!)

Nana-Afia

Peep the discord/patreon chat to cosponsor this! Lots of interest I think 👀

Just Tika

I am so freaking excited! I always wanted to be an attorney when I started seeing black women attorneys on TV. She became one of my inspirations and now as an attorney I actively try to emulate her style. I am literally screaming that you are watching this it’s one of the best things that you will ever do. This show is amazing!!!

Victoria Chinaka

OMG YESS! this show is so right up your alley. You’re are absolutely going to love it

Alicia Cue

right?? all we need now is How to get away with Murder

Alicia Cue

lol this is a show where you sneeze and miss like a whole scene they talk so fast😂 but omg i am so excited for you to get into this show!! i love how you could feel fitz and olivia’s chemistry before they said anything because it really is off the charts😮‍💨 And i cannot wait for you to get to know these characters, some of shonda’s absolute best written characters are from this show imo, sooo many layers and complexities and then played by absolute powerhouses of actors. Huck and Cyrus are two of those characters im reallyyyy excited to see you dive into

Stephanie Johns

Welcome to Scandal 🔥

Anna

Yes! It's crazy how much she fits in with the fast talking but also gives nuances with just the looks and body language of the actors.

Anna

So happy you enjoyed it! Your reactions are amazing as always! The quick talking ... yes, they talk crazy fast. This does continue. Shonda I think has probably an hour to an hour and a half worth of dialogue per episode, and she manages to squeeze it down with the fast talking. But it works for the story/vibe so well! Your reaction when Olivia was going off on Amanda Tanner.... that is exactly how I first reacted. LOL completely speechless. These characters are awesome and I am so glad you were able to see their depth in just one episode. Looking forward to seeing you react to more! 💚 As for episode 1... you can officially say "It's Handled".

Jada S

i’m so excited for you to watch this, glad you love it so far🥹

Kadence Collins

greys AND scandal i'm gonna go feral

Diaka Soumare

Let’s goooo !

Sikozu

I love how so many stuff is telegraphed early just by looks and vibes. The show does not need to have a speech that Abby is not happy about that engagement. They just film all her side glances and you get the story. Same with that initial meeting of Olivia and the President in Camp David before anything was said outright a lot was communicated with microexpressions and just vibes and you instantly pick up on it that something was going on there. I love when shows trust the viewers like this. We got to experience medical Shonda (Greys and PP) and historical Shonda (Bridgeton). Now lets have fun with the political Shonda xd
