Finally changed from All TV Shows to All 3 just to watch Les Mis. It's my favorite Musical. I love the music so so much!!!

David Guilmette

Russell Crowe, horrible casting decision.

Megan

I was so beyond excited when this popped up on my feed. The movie is an incredible adaptation to the Broadway show (which I've seen over a dozen times!). Also, please be totally obsessed and in love with Aaron Tveit, cause he's a f*cking God and didn't get the recognition he deserved in this film. All of the singing was live, so they could really portray the emotions. They were nominated for 12 Tony Awards (won 8), nominated for 8 Oscar's (won 3, with Hathaway winning best supporting actress).

JIM SCHMITZ

Thanks for your time and effort, Trav.(or was it your similar looking semi-hairless body double?). You were far from alone in your 'Crowe' assessment. Having heard the 'cream of the crop' 10th anniversary cast, this leaves me wanting. And yes, they decided to film their live singing throughout, to add to the immediacy of the performances. A side note: Colm Wilkinson, who played the priest, originated the role of Jean Valjean in both London and New York.

Tiffany Tews

You're 1000% correct, so many broadway actors especially could have been so much better. I just feel like the general reaction of people takes it so far with his performance saying its dogshit when it's just.... not very good haha

Travis Manning

I just feel like there HAS TO BE more talented singers that could have played that role lol

Tiffany Tews

This is a guilty pleasure for me for sure. I can see the issues but I truly don’t care, I’ll continue to love it 😂 and honestly, very unpopular opinion but I think Russell’s crowes performance is overly hated

Siobhan Linehan

Yeah you're probably right about him being cast for his name. I've always hated when movies and shows cast someone just because they're popular at the time and not because they're right for the role. It happens constantly and rarely works out. 🤦 And that's true. Borat and Bellatrix are great. 🤣

Travis Manning

For his name probably at that time. A lot of it was enjoyable and worth the watch tho ! Loved Borat and Bellatrix! 😂

Siobhan Linehan

Yep that scene is definitely the highlight. 👀🤣 And I'm with you, The Greatest Showman is MUCH better. That role was made for Hugh.

Siobhan Linehan

Ah you're on the same page as me then. Personally I watch a musical to cheer myself up not to be depressed. 😂 And I'm with you on Russell Crowe, still confused about why he was cast.

Ilsuk Yang

The main reason to watch this movie is Anne Hathaway. We all know which scene I'm talking about ;) Oh, and Hugh Jackman, too, although I much prefer him in The Greatest Showman :)

Travis Manning

Little depressing for my tastes too and Russell Crowe was terrible lol

Siobhan Linehan

I know someone on here who's going to love this lol, she's a big Les Mis fan. I love the music but it's WAY too sad for me. I just can't watch it. I'm a big wuss. 😂 I bet you loved it though, I can see it being your sort of thing. I hope more people request musicals. 😊
