Not quite random thoughts inspired by this latest delightful chapter. The good news is that Buckbeak is not on the chopping block in any way, shape or form. Also, Harry has learned the value of having a house elf involved in planning. Rather like the rule from the Evil Overlord's list to have a young child among your advisers to catch any painfully obvious failings in the 'fool proof' plans. I still shudder to think what will happen when and if Sirius and Remus decide it's time to sponsor the next generation of Marauders. Think how much more exciting/dangerous things would be once the Weasley twins have some proper mentors! Having Harry and Tonks discuss their plans to test the werewolf cure with the proper people - mostly Dumbledore - was a delightful touch. At minimum it means more people to offer assistance if Murphy's Law decides to join the game. (And it will. It always does.) So Lucius is planning to have an old acquaintance deal with our Mr. Potter. One has to wonder what happens if Greyback is given the potion as a result. Of course, the question is does the potion need to be taken on a regular basis or is it a one and done cure? Also, what happens if Greyback is cured and seeks out another werewolf to reinfect him? Meanwhile, please, may we have some more?
