Which do you think is the most wholesome - headpats or handholding? To forestall follow up questions, it would be a male MC performing these activities with their female love interest. Please let me know!

I think headpats are a bit more wholesome, but only in the right circumstances, so handholding wins by technicality for me. (Also, headpats by the LI to the MC are fine, especially in "retaliation")

in private, both are equally wholesome; in public, handholding would be a gesture of affection that would go unnotice/unremarked by others (unless there are rules against handholding)
