Chances are, something like this has been said before but... Ending the movie with a scene that feels like it belonged in the hook is an admission of the fact that the excitement from the hook is all that you have left to go on... this movie stinky. Get owned Shyamalan, ya freakin nerd!

I remember catching this in theaters, and how overly funny the movie is. Horrid filming, and iirc I could see a boom mic in one of the scenes and it immediately made me realize how bad of a movie I was about to watch. The scene where the dude just lays down in front of the riding mower had me and my friend laughing our asses off in the theater. Some people were looking at us like we were crazy, but it was still hilarious.

i was disappointed by the watchers unfortunately; it had a really good premise i felt and the acting seemed ok. it was a fine summer movie but not particularly fun or scary. i also didn’t want to watch it again but i don’t think it was as bad as this lol

I really like this film! Shayamalan’s awkward dialogue writing lends to the world-building of his films, I think it makes them seem more self-contained and less realistic. It’s fine but it’s more obviously fiction and maybe that gives him more room to be creative in his scripts with less pressure since he can be more weird with it. It comes off as believable in the world he creates if it existed on its own, so I think it’s fine!
