Matt I have the same issue with bananas, I started noticing that when I was a teenager. I would always feel kinda nauseous and have heartburn for a while afterwards. I kinda had the same problem just after eating a meal in general sometimes, but it was really bad with bananas in particular it seemed like. I eventually figured out that I have acid reflux after going to the ENT, he prescribed me to take omeprazole daily and it’s made a difference with the heart burn. I haven’t eaten bananas for a while so I’m not sure if they still bother me while I’m on the omeprazole or not. I also recently found out I am allergic to almost everything out of the 20 or so things they tested me for, like dogs, cats, dust, grass, etc lol. Going to have a more thorough test done in a couple of months with the allergist but I’m willing to bet there’s some food allergies in there too. If so, I’m wondering if that might be the root problem to the acid reflux.

Hi Matt, do you think what you described with the tight burn in your chest could be GERD? Hopefully not, but lots of people start to deal with it in their late 20's. I started having issues with it a few years ago and it sucks and you basically just have to avoid certain foods. Could be something else! But good luck!
