Monster March: Vsevolod the Vampire
🕑 Added 2023-03-04 19:00:03 +0000 UTCI sit in my car, everything I own is inside it. I feel relieved I’m finally out there but I’m also feeling horribly scarred. I just broke up with my ex and it took me months to build up the courage to do it. I knew he wouldn’t take it well at all and he really didn’t. He fought like a hurricane which only made me more certain that I had to go. My cheek is still sore from where he slapped me but I suppose it’s worth to finally be gone.
I step out of my car, going to the gas station to get myself something to eat and some coffee. I haven’t eaten all day due to nerves. I still don’t feel like eating but I know I need to if I am going to make the drive to my friend’s place. I get my coffee and food and go outside. I notice there is a park nearby and decide to take myself on a walk.
I drink my coffee, holding it between my hands. It’s just cold enough out that the opening to my coffee is steaming and my breath is coming out in white puffs. I look around, admiring the stars and trees. In the shadows I see something walking towards me. For a moment, fear and anxiety grip me like a vice. Is it my ex? Has he been following me?
My coffee slips from my hand and crashes down on the concrete. I’m frozen in place, unable to move, even as I see the face does not belong to my ex.
“Oh no,” the man stoops over and picks up the cup. “Are you alright?” His voice is deep and warm and he has a strange accent. I look up at him, he’s amazingly tall. His shoulders are broad but he looks very thin. He smiles at me, his skin looks like opal in the moonlight. His features are sharp and gaunt but he’s very beautiful.
His brow pinches as he looks at me and his lips part in a gasp.
The next thing I know I’m out cold.
I wake up on a park bench, my head in the stranger’s lap. It’s still dark out but the horizon is bright. I look up at him and gasp, jumping up. “Oh my god!”
“It’s alright,” he gasps.
“What happened?” I look around in a panic. “I’m so sorry!”
“Don’t apologize, I couldn’t leave you passed out in the middle of the night.” He coxes me back down to sitting. “It’s ok. I promise.”
“Shit,” I rub at my eyes. “I’m so sorry.”
“It’s ok, I told you.” He squeezes my hand and I feel a strange sense of comfort wash over me.
I look up at him, his smile is so soft and sweet. “Still,” I murmur, looking down and taking my hand back. I take out my phone seeing I’ve missed calls from my ex as well as my friend whose house I should have been at by now.
“Oh shit.” I grumble.
“Is everything alright?” The stranger stands up, reminding me how frighteningly tall he is.
I glance up at him then back at my phone. “Can you wait just a second?”
He glances to the horizon then nods back at me as I make my phone call. My friend is panicked, afraid something had happened or I had turned around and gone back to my horrible ex. It takes me a minute to reassure her I’m fine and that I had to stop for a while to gather myself and be alone. I couldn’t tell her that I had passed out in a strange park with a stranger. As I’m talking to her I take the coffee cup I dropped and scribble my number on it and hand it to him.
He takes it, looking at it a sweet smile across his lips. He walks me to my car, my friend giving me a short lecture. She hangs up once I get into my car. “Thanks again,” I tell the stranger and smile at him. “Please, call me any time. Once things settle, I’d like to thank you properly.”
“I’d like to see you again. Isn’t everyday a girl falls at your feet.”
My cheeks burn and I can’t help but giggle. “I hope they don’t.”
He nods back. “You should get going before your friend worries any further.”
“Thanks again,” I murmur quietly and start my car. I drive off, getting to my friend’s house just as the sun rises. She rushes out, hugging me then pinching my cheek extra hard. She gets me to bed and makes me a large breakfast. After that, she unpacks my car for me while I relax and get some sleep. She takes my phone away, in case my ex tries to call or do anything. So I don’t realize the stranger has been texting me.
That evening as I get up from bed for the first time, Alexandria is paying for the takeout she’s ordered. It smells so good and my stomach has been talking to me for about an hour now.
“You’ve been getting texts from an unknown number,” Alexandria says as she hands my phone back. “It didn’t sound like your ex talking so I left them on.”
I scroll through the texts and gasp. “Oh this is-” I then realize I can’t tell Alexandria I gave my phone number to a stranger I met at two in the morning in an empty park. “This is uhm…a guy I met.” Oh god, why can’t I be a good liar?
Alexandira stares at me and I can’t tell if she’s angry or shocked. Probably both.
“I know, I know,” I sigh. “I just broke up with Rick and I should give myself time ot heal and all that stuff you emailed me.”
“That’s right. Do you even know this guys name?”
“Sure I do it’s uhhh…” I glance down, seeing him introduce himself in the first text. I feel relieved until I see his name. Oh god, it’s unpronounceable. Vsevolod, however that’s supposed to be pronounced.
“He’s Russian uhm…” I’m not even sure that’s right. “He’s…really nice.”
Alexandria just stares at me. “His name?”
I swallow and try my best to remember how Russia even pronounces things. “It is uhm…Va-chev-o-lud,” it sounds right, maybe?
“Geez, that’s horrible. Not even you could make up something like that.” I sigh with relief as Alexandria turns her back to get the food out.
“Sorry for the late replies,” I text back to Vsevolod. “I’ve been indisposed all day.”
A few minutes later I get a reply. “No worries at all. You seemed stressed last night. You looked like you had been crying.”
How could he tell that? “Yeah it was a rough day.”
“I’d love to hear about it if you need someone to talk to.”
For some reason, his words were shocking to me. Usually, the only one who said stuff like that was Alexandria. I felt a bit nervous now so I set my phone aside and didn’t reply to him. I enjoy dinner with Alexandria, it’s been such a long time since I last had my favorite take out. My ex didn’t like it so we never ate there. I also enjoyed my favorite movie, the ex didn’t like it either.
“I’m glad you’re here,” Alexandria sighs. “So I can watch out for you.”
I nod. “I’m glad too. Thank you.”
“Take your time,” she says and kisses my cheek. “There’s no rush for you to do anything until you’re ready.”
After eating my weight in noodles and coconut shrimp I go back to bed, flopping down on the pillows and down comforter Alexandria has given me. I curl up and take my phone, checking my emails and responding to a few messages from people covering for me at work. I then see the message from Vsevolod again. Seeing his sweet words still make me feel panicked but at the same time I didn’t want to ignore him.
“Thank you,” I all I respond and I roll over in bed.
The next morning Alexandria has to go to work so I have the house to myself. She lives outside the city, so it’s nice and quiet. She has a few close neighbors, most of them are vacation homes so only one neighbor is still around. Their house looks well tended to yet somehow empty. The windows are all covered by thick curtains. Outside there are several cats who lounge about the porch, all of them look sleek and a little scary. The ‘fuck you’ vibe rolls heavily off of them.
That evening I’ve ordered pizza and are waiting for it to be delivered while waiting on Alexandria who has gone grocery shopping. I see the curtains In the house across the street flutter. The cats also start to stir and they call congregate at the door, mewling and yowling and making a huge fuss. The door opens and a tall figure steps out, bending slightly so they don’t hit the door frame. He’s carrying a few bowls that the cats all start to fight over, one even climbs up his long legs to get to the bowls. He sets them down along the porch, spacing them out so the cats don’t fight. When he stands back up I see his face.
I gasp, realizing it’s the stranger from the park, Vsevolod. He looks up, seeing me sitting on the porch and he waves.
“What a strange coincidence!”
I stand up and go down the stairs so I’m a bit closer. “Alex never mentioned you were her neighbor.”
“We’ve never met. I actually didn’t know that was her name.” He smiles and I feel my heart start to flutter. “So that’s probably why she doesn’t know mine.”
I smile, and fidget with the cords of my hoodie. “Well, it’s very nice to meet you uhm…” I hesitate. “I’m sorry, but…”
“My name is sort of a tongue teaser, no?” He smirks knowingly. “It’s pronounced Va-chev-o-lud.”
“Ah!” I squeal excitedly and his eyes widen. I blush and cover my face with my hands and laugh. “Oh sorry. No uhm…I actually got it right!”
He grins. “I’m glad you did. Most people don’t even both trying to figure it out. Oh but they’ll pronounce Tchaikovsky with no issue.” He rolls his eyes.
I smirk, hiding it behind the sleeve of my hoodie. “It’s different for sure but it’s kind of lovely.”
The pizza delivery car pulls up. “Well, it looks like you’re about to eat.” Alexandria’s car pulls up as well. “I’ll leave you to it then uhm…”
“Uhm?” I ask and tilt my head.
His smile is crooked and he looks very cute when he does. “You can tell me your name, if you’d like?”
My heart skips a beat, like in the songs. “Alanah,” I reply.
I turn as Alexandria hefts groceries onto the porch and then I have to pay for the pizza. My heart is still hammering, even as I start to eat. I keep seeing Vsevolod’s smile, so cute and crooked. He looked nervous but excited at the same time, sort of like how I felt.
Alexandria pinches my cheek and cheese smears over my face as I turn to look at her.
“You look goofy,” she says. “Why do you look goofy?”
I quickly wipe my face and set the slice I was gumming down on the plate. “Have you met your neighbor?” I ask, pointing towards the house across the street.
She arches her brow at me. “Why?”
I fidget, not wanting to seem to obvious even though I was already being extremely obvious. “I just…I just met him and-”
“He was there when I moved in. I thought for sure he was some old shut in.” She shrugs. “Seeing him on the porch is one of the very, very few sightings I’ve ever gotten of him. His cats are always around though.” She then points at me and I flinch. “Were you talking to him?”
“Yeah,” I feel a smile bubbling up but I try to keep it down. “He seems really nice. Actually, uhm, he’s the one who has been messaging me.”
“The Vladislov guy?” Alexandria asks.
“Vsevolod,” I correct. “And yeah, I didn’t know he was your neighbor.”
Alexandria smirks. “Neither did I.”
That evening I’m plagued by dreams. I see a strange white figure in my room and rather than be afraid of it I beg it to come to me. I hold it, feeling it’s cold body press against mine. They whisper into my ear and I can’t understand them but I know what they’re saying. They tell me all sorts of sweet things as they kiss and bite me. I feel them inside me and I cry out with pleasure. I beg them to stay inside me and I cling to them for dear life.
I wake in a sweat and my heart hammering. I’m wet between my legs and I crave a glass of water. I get up and take my water out on the porch, hoping the cold air will calm me down. I look across the way to Vsevolod’s house. It looks empty and dark but I can hear his cats trotting around on the porch and mewing. I then see a shadow rise and step forward. He walks into the moonlight and one again, his skin looks like opal and his smile is crooked and sweet.
“Can’t sleep?”
My heart won’t calm down, not from the dream, not for him. It beats wildly in my chest and rattled my bones. I stand up, moving into the moonlight. “I was having some vivid dreams so i figured some fresh air would help.” I’m drawn to him. I want to be near him, but that makes me terrified. I don’t want to go running to someone after getting out of a relationship that left me black and blue inside and out.
“Can you share your dreams?” He asks.
Oh god no, there’s no way i could tell him I was getting that best sex of my life in a dream. I feel my face burn but his smile only gets cuter. “Can I come over or…”
“Oh,” I gasp. “Sure.”
He walks over and stands at the stairs to the porch looking up at me. I smile at him, feeling excited that he was going to be so close to me. “Please, come up.”
He dips his head, looking at the stairs before he walks up and joins me on the porch. He’s so tall and beautiful, how the hell will I survive? I offer him a seat beside me on the wicker sofa.
“Can I get you anything to drink?”
His eyes linger on me for a moment before he shakes his head. “No, I’m fine.”
His cats have followed him and have started choosing their places on the porch. One weaves between my legs, rubbing himself to his heart’s content.
“Sorry about them,” he chuckles.
“It’s cute, no worries.” I lean back, looking into his eyes. I feel that need from my dream spark back. The dream feels more like a memory. The passion and love I felt, the need to be with whatever it was in my dream. Their love for me was real and burning, I could hear in their voice. The desperation to be with me. I wanted it to be real.
“Are you moving in?” His voice knocks me from my wandering mind.
I nod and look down into my water. “Yeah. Alexandria insisted. She didn’t want me to end up back there-” I hesitated. I didn’t mean to divulge too much.
He furrows his brow. “Back there?” His black hair falls off his shoulder like a dark waterfall. I want to run my fingers through it but I hold that desire back.
I bite my lip. “Just uhm…I was in a bad place.”
“I’m sorry to hear that,” he murmurs.
I sigh, feeling safe with him. It was hard for me to feel safe with anyone. I didn’t know this man and yet I wanted to hold him and for him to hold me. I wanted to know his taste and how his skin felt pressed to mine.
I tell myself I’m still feeding off the carnal passion of my dream and I need to stop.
“It makes sense. I was wondering why you seemed so sad in the park.” He reaches out, longer fingers touch my cheek and brush my hair from my face. “So tired.”
I close my eyes, his skin feels cool and he smells like dust. “I broke up with my boyfriend,” the words slip from my lips. “I’ve been trying to get away for a long time.”
“What’d he do?” Did Vsevolod sound angry?
I look up at him, seeing his brow is pinched. “He did…” I don’t want to tell him but at the same time I do. “He did a lot of things,” I mutter. “He hurt me, one way or another.”
Vsevolod is quiet for a long time. I’m afraid he’ll look at me differently, that I won’t see that crooked smile again. I feel my chest squeeze and painful tears start to well up in my eyes.
“Someone as beautiful as you deserves the tenderest of touch,” his dark voice is so close to my ear. Tears start to trickle down my cheeks, his words are far too good for someone like me. “You deserve to be touched and often, to your heart’s content.”
I tilt my chin up as I look at him and the kiss is instant. I grab onto him, meeting his hungry kiss and wrapping myself around him. We fall back and I feel his weight on top of me. I want him, more than I’ve ever wanted anything. I am voracious in a way I’ve never felt before.
When he pulls back I taste blood on my tongue. We’re both gulping down breaths and I’m shivering with excitement and fear.
“Sorry,” he gasps as he helps me sit up. “I didn’t mean to…oh fuck I didn’t mean to do that,” he chuckles softly, kissing my cheek and neck.
I giggle nervously, running my fingers through his hair. “I didn’t mind,” I kiss him softly, tasting blood again. “I liked it.”
He touches my cheek and looks at me, a hint of sadness to his eyes. “You’re healing. I don’t need to take advantage of that. Not you. You deserve to heal and be pampered.”
I want him to pamper me. I want him to take me to my bedroom and pamper me all night. Instead I just smile and kiss his palm. “It was a good kiss,” I say. “I’ve never had one before.”
He moans softly and presses another kiss to my wanting lips. “I shall be sure to give you more then.” He stands up but I keep a hold of his hand. “I should go, before I kiss you to death.”
I giggle. “Ok. I should go to bed anyways.” I watch him leave, reluctant to let him do so. I sneak back inside and go to bed. Although, my yearning for his deadly kisses and touch kept me from sleep. I had to settle for my own touch which was far from satisfying.
Later that day I receive a text from Vsevolod asking me to meet him on the porch again. I do so, waiting for Alexandria to fall asleep before sneaking outside. He greets me with a kiss, many kisses. For some reason, I always taste blood but I don’t mind it.
We talk all evening and I end up curling into his lap. I feel comfortable with him and I’m able to open up and tell him things about my life. My awful childhood and going between different foster homes. I told him how I found some solace in high school when I took extra curricular classes after school. I told him about Alexandria and then meeting my horrible ex. He listens intently, a hand running through my hair and another on my hip.
The next evening we do it again. He kisses me hello then holds me all night. Although, that evening we don’t talk. He just holds me. I lay my head on his chest and in the quiet I realize I don’t hear a heartbeat.
He moves and kisses me again, I moan softly as he eases me down in the wicker sofa. He cocoons himself around me so it feels like we’re in our own private world.
“There is something I must confess to you,” he whispers.
I touch his face. “What is it?”
“I don’t want you to be afraid of me,” he kisses me. “You’ve been afraid for far too long. I want you to see me and want me. Because god do I need you,” he kisses me again and I feel my pulse quicken.
“I am…” he strains to get the words out. “Alanah, I am not a man,” he murmurs. “I am a beast, a monster.”
“Vsevolod, what are you…?”
“I’m a vampire,” he touches my lips. “And from the moment I saw you I knew I belonged to you. Body and soul. I have waited so long to find you again. It has been centuries since I was last in your arms.”
I think back to my dreams and how they felt more like memories than dreams. The strange white shape that I took in my arms and their words took form again. I was dreaming of Vsevolod. I kiss him, pulling him into my arms. He moans into my lips, pressing close to me as much as he can on the wicker sofa.
“You aren’t afraid?” He whispers.
“A little but…not of you,” I smile shyly at him and sit up. I touch his cool skin and press my lips to his throat and neck. He moans softly and his hands clamp around my hips.
“Not even because I’m a vampire?” He whispers into my ear.
I look at him. “I’ve met real monsters,” I kiss him, slipping my tongue into his mouth. I now know why I always tasted blood, it was because my tongue scraped to his fangs. “You are no monster to me.”
He holds me tight in his arms and I squeeze him back. My memories, our memories, will come back eventually, I know they will. My love for him is from ages ago. I have always been meant for him and he has always belonged to me.
He takes me across the street to his home. Inside, his shelves are full of antiques and treasures. He shows me old paintings and photographs where the subject looks amazingly like me.
“I have waited for your countless time before,” he murmurs. “But you have always found me. He kisses my cheek and I gaze up at him. “Will I ever remember those lives?”
“Sometimes you do,” he tucks a loose curl behind my ear. “Sometimes you don’t. What matters is the life we will have together now.”
I take his hand and squeeze it tight. “That’s what I want.”
He takes me into his chambers. There is no coffin like in the movies, just a great big bed surrounded by curtains as thick as blankets. He lays me down on the mattress, stripping away my pajamas so that I’m bare. I want to hide myself. I am not used to being naked around people. I try to hide my stomach but he brushes my hand away.
“Let me look at all of you.”
I look up at him. Noticing his face looks quite different and yet I recognize it. His eyes have gone all black and his nose is more flat with wider nostrils. His mouth starts to open, unhinging and stretching back towards his ears. He sees me staring and he reals back. He covers his face.
“Sorry,” He swallows. “I must be more excited than I thought.”
I crawl to him and pull his hands back. Seeing his true face. He looks at me, the lip around his eyes is bright red, highly contrasting with his opal skin. “If you get to see all of me, I get to see all of you.” I kiss his strange mouth and down his neck. I kiss his chest and cold skin. I kneel between his thighs and take his long, pearly cock between my lips.
He moans, his hips bucking slightly. His long fingers run through my hair, watching me as I taste him. I run my lips down his shaft and lick all the way back up to the tip. My eyes flick up to him as I take him into my mouth. I swirl my tongue around his tip, bobbing my head slowly. It’s strange, he is so hard but there is no warmth, no throbbing, no pulse. His moans are real though, he soft cries of pleasure as he cups his hand around his mouth.
I pull back, licking my lips I look up at him. He hurriedly shoves me down onto the bed, kissing me hungrily. He kisses down my chest. He gently nibbles at my breasts. His large hand just barely grasps them.
He smirks before sucking a nipple. “I love how soft you are,” he gropes my breasts, squeezing it. “Big and soft and warm.” He nuzzles his face between them. “And all mine.”
I giggle softly and his hands tickle down my ribs. He grabs my hips, hiking them up slightly as he kneels between my thighs. “I can smell it,” he growls. “Oh this sweetness.” He plunges in and I can’t catch a breath. He slurps and sucks. His sharp teeth drag along my flesh as he feasts upon me. When he lifts his head I see blood smeared on his cheeks and lips that he quickly licks away with his long tongue.
I’m panting and not able to register what all just happened. “Did you…did you bite me?” I wheeze.
He smirks. “No my love, it is simply the red tide.” He kisses my cheek. “Probably why I was so eager to be with you these passed few nights, aside from the obvious reasons.” He dips down again. “I’ll go gentle this time. Forgive me, I’m starving.” He eases down again, his jaw unhinging as he tongue slithers out. He eases inside me, swirling his tongue around as the bridge of his nose ruts against me. I gasp and shudder, gripping the top of his head as he feasts upon me. I gasp, nerely rising off the bed and I feel him bring me to the edge. It’s been so long, I’d almost forgotten what this sensation felt like. I cry out, my thigh clamping around his head.
I flop back to the bed, feeling and dazed and elated. I hear him chuckle in my ear as he comes up beside me. He kisses my neck and moans softly. His hands caress me all over, making me shiver with aftershocks.
“That won’t be the last one,” he growls to me. “In fact, there will be many more tonight alone.” He climbs on top of me and lifts my legs. I feel his cock against me, rubbing to my folds. I mewl softly, watching him as he watches me.
“So warm,” his voice becoming guttural. I can feel him slick along you, his shaft is long and I can’t help but wonder what depth it’ll reach.
I eagerly hook your legs around him, urging him inside. Ever since my dreams, or well, memories, came back, all I have wanted was his weight on top of me and his passion filling me. I wanted his sweet words in my ears and his love all around me.
I look up at him and my lips part and he eases down. He impales me and I gasp as he kisses me. He swirls his long tongue around in my mouth. His hips move, pushing deeper and harder inside of me. He lifts his head, grunting and groaning like a beast. I cling tightly to him, holding onto his arms for dear life. He shakes the bed as well as me, and to be honest I’m not sure who sounds more animal, me or Vsevolod.
He snarls and pants and I feel his breath on my neck. He licks and kisses, moaning as he holds back. I know what he wants, I know what he needs right now. I want it too, I want to feel him drink me in. I want to be a part of him again. I cup the back of his head and stretch my neck, letting him know it was alright to feed on me.
I feel his sharp teeth on my skin and I can’t help but moan as he bites me. He moves faster and harder, the bed is trembling as much as I am. He moans lasciviously in my ear as he drinks me in. My lashes flutter and I let out one last cry into the night. Come morning, I’m sure Alexandria would blame the screaming on the cats.
He snarls, not quite done with me. He ruts and spears me, slamming me into the bed as my blood dribbles down his chin. He whispers into my ear, speaking a language I cannot understand and yet somehow I know every word. Every sweet, lusty word he breaths into me makes my thighs clamp tight around his waist. My back arches and my eyes roll into the back of my head. The last thing I hear is his snarls and cries. He ruts and spasms and then I’m out like a light.
I wake in a daze, dreamy and floating. I roll over, seeing Vsevolod laying next to me. I smirk and cuddle to his side. His arm wraps around me and his palm rubs my back.
“I didn’t hurt you did I?”
I smile as I shake my head. “Not at all,” I sit up, kissing him, seeing he still possesses his true face. He looks at me and rises up. He touches my your neck where he bit.
“You always were a good healer.” He kisses me softly and runs his thumba long my lips. “I hope I did not rush you.”
“I feel…” I take a deep breath, feeling as if it is my first in a long time. “I feel good,” I whisper to him. “I am not quite healed but I do feel better.” I touch his chest, running my small hands down his body. “I feel safe.”
He chuckles, kissing my forehead. “How ironic, You feel so safe in the arms of a vampire.”
I smile up at him, pulling him down on top of me. He rests his head between my breasts and lays hi body on mine. I love the feeling, his weight, his cool skin. It all feels so perfect to me. So right.
Come morning he has to tuck himself away. He gives me a key and tells me to come over anytime I want to. I leave, making sure to get home before Alexandria wakes up. I take a shower and inspect my neck. All that’s there is a slight red mark and I could easily cover it with a scarf for now. I’d have to have him bite me somewhere less conspicuous now, like my breast or thighs. I can’t stop smiling. All I can remember are his kiss and his touch. Oh, also the amazing orgasms. I day dream in the shower, nearly drowning I can’t close my mouth from smiling.
After Alexandria leaves I make my way back to his house. I look at all his antiques, especially the paintings and photos he has. I make my way back to the bedroom and strip before I crawl into the bed with him. He groans, wrapping me up in his arms.
“So soon?”
“I need a nap,” I snuggle to him. “I didn’t get any sleep last night.”
He chuckles in my ear. “How awful, why not?”
I smile to myself. “Not sure.” I kiss his chest and run my hand down his front. “It’s a mystery to me.”
He takes me again, rattling the bed and grunting like and animal while I muffle my cries with a pillow. Being with him feels as natural as breathing. He covers me with kisses and touches every inch of me. He worships my softness and belly, no one has ever made me feel so good before inside and out.
I’m not sure how often we made love, needless to say it was a lot. I did eventually get my nap, curled up to him and stuck to his chest.
“You need to eat,” he growls to me.
“Don’t make me get up,” I mewl pitifully.
“You’re my food, so you’re going to have to go get something.” He kisses me and I pout at him.
“Ok fine,” I get up and dress, walking with him across the street. He sits in the kitchen as I eat some leftovers. As I’m eating a piece of pizza is dawns on me it could be offensive.
“I’m sorry!” I gasp and go to throw it away.
“For what?” He chuckles.
I lick my lips. “The pizza it’s-”
“If you’re talking about garlic that’s not even true.” He takes the pizza from me and sets it on the table again. “Same with crucifixes. It all depends on taste,” he chuckles.
I sit back down, finishing the remains of the pizza. “So, if I kissed you after I ate this?”
“It would taste weird, but it would do no damage at all.” He winks.
We go back outside, sitting on the porch while I enjoyed a cup of coffee. Alexandria was visiting family, so I had all evening with him. We made love again, this time in my room. When he had to leave in the morning I enjoyed the scent of him on my blankets.
I continued to have dreams, memories of my past lives with Vsevolod. We had children in some lives, in others were together only for a short time. I woke one morning from a horrible dream. Vsevolod was huddled over someone, crying and screaming and I was laying out of reach. I knew I was dying and all I wanted was to save him. I didn’t want to die without him. There was fire all around us and my lung were filled with smoke. Was I burned at the stake?
I woke up crying and Vsevolod kissed me lovingly. “What’s the matter? What’s wrong?”
“Why must I always die and leave you alone?” I whimper. “Why must you always watch me die and then have to wait?”
He nuzzles to my cheek. “I don’t want you to live like I do,” he whispers. “You belong in the sun. I will stay im shadows. My life has been so long, waiting for you takes no time at all.”
I sniffle. “I want to be with you always.”
He kisses me. “So do I. My love for you is as eternal as this cold heart.” He places my palm over his chest. “You are my soulmate from the beginning and will last until the end.”
The tears are rolling free down my cheeks. I kiss him, wrapping him up in my arms.
“You may not be immortal like me, but you always come back. That is enough for me.” He lays on top of me, his weight and cool skin reminded me of a summer long ago. The heat was sweltering but he was cold. He laid on me to keep me comfortable and I could think was lewd thoughts even though I was a virgin. In that life, he gave me a ring and a promise. When we first made love it was cold out and he used my body to stay warm. Like now, we made love like bunnies. I am amazed, even still, that same passions from centuries ago is still inside him. It is also still inside me. And I know, just like me, he will never let it go.
