It was only a matter of time to dump or be dumped. So you decided it was time to dump. You never enjoyed being dumped over a phone call, but in this case you had absolutely had it. You told him not to worry, that he needed to never worry again. He didn’t need to make excuses anymore. You only wish you could slam your cell phone down to get your point across.
You were alone now, but you weren’t going to waste a good outfit and good makeup. You went to the bar down the street to get a drink. You were still all dolled up for your date. You were running on a high but knew a low would be coming soon if you didn’t act fast.
You were glad that that bartender served you quickly. You grumbled your order, feeling the high begint ow ear off. You ordered a whiskey. Someone else had taught you to like whiskey and you found yourself missing them.
Your wish to see him was granted as if by magic. His laugh was husky and cut through the din of the crowd. He was there with a cute blonde across his lap. He always seemed to prefer blondes, or perhaps blondes always prefered him. He was an old friend, you had known him longer than you cared to admit. Also, on more than one occasion you had ended the evening drunkenly clamoring on top of one another.
He bit the blonde’s neck and you knew that pleasure. You knew all too well how his teeth worked. You smiled seeing him. Had he been alone you might have clung to him like the blonde girl did. You would let him whisk you away and fuck you delirious. You rubbed your temple, a little confused as to why you were suddenly so pissed, wanting to rip the blonde’s obviously bleached roots out. You finished your drink and ordered another.
Ellis had a man’s man appeal, not a player, but word had got around about his beastly tendencies in bed. Lots of ladies liked to feel like Beauty for a night. You had felt like that with him. He always made you feel something more.
“It’s bad luck to drink alone,” his voice growls into your ear.
You look up at him and a warm smile spreads across your face. “What makes you think I’m alone?” You flourish your hand down your body, showing him the nice new dress and fuck me heels. “My fella could be in the bathroom.” You then pat the barstool beside you for him to take.
“Fuck pissing,” he snarled as he took the offered seat. “He’d be too hard if he were here with you,” he grinned, showing off those teeth again. He was tall and dark. Long tentacles cascading down the back of his head like sleek dreadlocks. His face was long, features smooth until his mouth which parted into rows of pearly teeth. He had tree sets of eyes, descending in size along each side of his face. They were pitch black but warm. His tail whipped around, stroking up your leg and coiling around your ankle. His wings we tucked around him, claws clasped at his neck.
“I’m sure you won’t be alone for long.” He inches closer to you. “Soon as the crowd here spots you you’ll have to beat them off, literally and metaphorically.” He was slightly tipsy, it seemed, by his crude compliments.
You shook your head and laughed at him. “I’m going home after this drink. I don’t feel much like beating anybody off.” You roll your eyes and take a sip. You then slid your hand up his thigh. “I don’t feel like doing anything for anybody tonight.”
He eyes you, a long, purple tongue darting out between his teeth and licking them. “I get your point,” he murmurs. He slips his fingers under your chin and tips your head up. “Plenty can beat themselves off later.”
You snort and smile wide. He could always make you smile.
“Don’t tell me,” he sits back and studies your face, your body. “Not another break up?”
You sigh and lean towards him. “Not so much a break up as a crumbling.” You stroke your hand up and down his thigh.
“Let me tell a few people to fuck off,” he bites your cheek. “Then I’ll let you rent me for the night.” He smiled, hand slithering between your thighs where he is strong and warm. He kissed your temple.
“Thank you,” you whisper as he heads back to his table.
You wait at the bar, finishing off your second glass of whiskey until Ellis returns. He tosses money onto the bar, growling some orders at the barkeep. He then takes your purse, holding it as you stand up and lead him out the door.
He pulls you close once you’re outside, pressing your side into his. “So, what would you like tonight?”
You stop and turn. You smooth your hand up his chest and slip your fingers along his neck. Even in your tallest heels you have to stand on tiptoe to kiss him. You smile and then press your face into his chest.
“I’m really glad you were just here, Ellie,” you sigh. He rubs your back.
“Sorry,” he sighs. “Do you need me to kill anyone?”
You laugh and shake your head. “No. It’s not that serious.” You beam up at him. “I’m sorry I made you leave your date.”
“You didn’t make me,” he growls and he squeezes your hand. “It wasn’t even a date. Just some friends hanging out.”
“Friends?” You laugh.
He smirks. “Nothing like you. You’re a real friend.”
You kiss him again and lead him. “Can we go to our place?”
“Sounds perfect to me.”
He takes you to the hole in the wall Chinese restaurant. You had gone there with him many times before and it wouldn’t be the last time. You both had met ages ago when you were still in school. He was the owner of the building you worked in and he stopped by often. He had a certain air around him that made it easy to create a chemistry with. You also bumped into him a lot when you were out dancing or looking for a good drink. It didn’t take long for the two of you to cultivate the relationship you had now. One of comfort and relaxed air, even if you had gone without seeing each out for long spells. After you ate more than your fill he took you home. You sat together on your sofa, watching old movies until you fell asleep. He left some time before you woke up, but not before tucking you warm and snug into bed.
The next day you get up and go about your usual business. You feel better, lighter. The break up had been a little bitter but it was something you were glad happened. You were happy for the evening you had with Ellis. A small part of you wishes you had done more, but you were pleased with how things ended. You could call him anytime you needed him.
You get home from shopping, spending more than you meant to because you felt you had earned it. As you’re putting things away your phone pings with messages.
You’ve received a picture of nothing but a lower torso, dark black and purple skin and the beginning of thick base of cock. “You said you’d call me” the tagline.
This isn’t anything new. You’ve received pictures from Ellis featuring a lot more. This was him attempting to be cute rather than sexy. You dialed him back, waiting on him to answer.
He groaned against the receiver. “Well I guess that’s how I have to get your attention,” he chuckled. “Really, is that the only way you see me?” You hear the shifting noise of sheets in the background.
“Sorry I didn’t call. I‘d gone out shopping to forget all my woes.” You say as you plop down onto the sofa. “Are you still in bed?”
“Mnh, that’s not good,” he yawned “Do you need some money to cover the expenses?“ He murmured, low smoky voice almost comforting as opposed to its gruff seductive default
You scoff, “don’t avoid the question. Are you being lazy and sleeping in?”
“It’s against my nature to be awake when the sun is up. Give me a break,” he laughs.
“Any sweet dreams then?”
“Just about you,” you can hear the smirk in his voice. “Did you have any sweet dreams worth mentioning?”
“Nothing special,” you say. “Tell me about yours. I’m vain, I want to hear you talk about what dream me did?”
"Want me to come over?” His words nearly made your heart punch through your lungs, break through your ribs and then slingshot back through your spine.
You pull your legs up to your chest and bite your lip. “What? No hot date tonight?”
“Not unless you tell me to come over.”
You could slap him for being so smooth. “Bring take out from our favorite place.” You said, voice soft. “I have to clean up a bit before you get here. Ok?”
"Fuck cleaning just lay in one spot and I’ll be there soon,” he grunted. "I don’t care how your house looks. Maids aren’t just for fucking you know? Some actually clean.”
You bit your lip to keep your grin in control. “I take pride in my home, ass,” she scoffed. “Asses are also for kicking, not just fucking, you know that too right?”
“I love it when you talk dirty to me, baby,” he purrs to you. “You know I don’t care what you do to my ass as long as your back there.”
You scoff and roll your eyes. “Just pick up the food. I’ll see you here in a few.”
“I mean it don’t you move. You better be sinking into the couch. I’ll know if you cleaned,” he chuckled, hanging up.
He was over in less than half an hour, reek of Chinese food and tacos sickly comforting. “You ok eating all this after last night?” He slid the brown sacks onto the table. “I also got you some of that hot sauce shit they have that turns your tongue to leather.“
You had disobeyed his orders and picked up your bedroom and cleaned the bathroom, which it needed anyways. “Ah good, my favorite.” You were only in a t-shirt and shorts. You went up to him, hugging him around the waist. “Thanks for coming over. You didn’t have to.”
"I know it” he smirked, “but sometimes I get a blowjob and it makes your horrible personality completely tolerable for the whole eight seconds.” He scooped her into a hug, nuzzling her temple. His teeth nip your neck.
You punched him in the stomach. “Awful!” You then squeeze him tight and pull away, handing him a plate. “I just feel like sometimes I take advantage of you so. Thanks, for it all.”
“I came here of my own free will. I’m a glutton for punishment.” He tucks your hair behind your ear and you feel your heart race again. “I’ll always have a soft spot for you.”
“Same,” you then clear your throat and turn to the food.
The food was an amazing comfort, but you doubted it would be any good without him there. After you were done eating he pulled you into his lap. He nuzzled to your neck, his teeth nipping in place of kisses. His tongue darted out, licking rice from your cheek.
You press your hand against his chest, giggling as his tongue roamed your exposed skin. “Ellis,” you chuckle.
He looks up at you with dark eyes and he clutches your hand. Your smile fade as you look at him and your sigh. “I’m just done.” You touch his face, stroking his stoney cheek. “I think it’s time I started to think seriously. I need to realize when I’m making the same mistake again.”
He clutches your hand on his face. “You make the same mistake because it’s not a mistake, you do it on purpose.” He shrugs. “It’s safe. ” He rubs your back. “It’s easy to date and fuck and feel infatuated and horny for a few weeks or even a month. Hell, sometimes two when you’re feeling like pretending you’re in love. Holidays, etc. And the breakups aren’t hard. You cry a little and play the wounded bird and you get rescued every time.” He pets your hair and laughs to himself. “I know, because I do it, sans being rescued. ”
Your fingers flex under his palm and you move them across his teeth, “What about me?” You whisper. “Do I not rescue you?” You nuzzle against his neck, relaxing against him. It felt right, sitting here in his arms. It always had. Maybe always would.
He chuckled. “Far from it, you’re more of a catalyst than a solution.”
You pull back and meet his eyes. You arch your brow and tilt your head. “Excuse me?” You scoff.
“Mhm,” he nods, not explaining further.
“Are you saying I’m the reason you do it?” You ask. “Ellis, I-” you hesitate, fearing his response.
He rubs your back more and slips his hand under your shirt, touching bare skin. “So I mean, I’m here if you want to know what not to do in relationships but I’m shit for advice on the other parts.”
He pets your sides and holds you in place of conversation. He lays back and you curl against his chest. “You’re more boyfriend to me than anyone I’ve ever dated,” you mutter.
He lets out a loud laugh and shakes you on his chest. “Well there’s something you should know then, I’ve apparently been cheating on you for…decades.” His laugh rumbled and he kissed the top of your head.
You smile, relaxing. “It’s ok, I didn’t tell you.” You both fall asleep there, the glow of the TV surrounding you.
