The first 8 to 9 episode of FMB are for world building. The only people you're supposed to be attached are mostly in the first episode with a couple more later on. Not every character that pops up in a show you have to get attached to. The little girl turning into a dog is to establish that there's bad people even on the 'good side'.

Tom Holland only has 3 solo Spider-Man movies atm, homecoming/far from home/no way home. At the end of NWH doctor strange cast a spell to make the entire world forget about Peter Parker, NOT Spider-Man. At this point in time Peter lives alone and is in collage building a new identity. With no friends and a new homemade suit more accurate to the comics. And the 4th movie isn’t out of no where, there’s been talks since NWH came out and has been confirmed/titled for months.
