I’d be so stoked if yall did BG3 or D&D, but you really do need a good narrator. A bad game master could ruin the game for you forever. You don’t need to really roleplay either, just react with words. “Can I do XYZ?”, “I try to do XYZ.” If you have a good game master that knows you well it’s just making a story with your friends with some RNG thrown in.

In valorant, you get the tokens as you play and complete the animations and colors for skins. But yes the base skins and the radiant coins are expensive. You can also trade the weapons though. If you play with four other people and everybody uses that skin for the gun, then it’s like $4-6 a person. However the knives are very expensive for what they are and the fact that you can’t drop it

I think you guys would def fuck with a DND session that's just a oneshot -- real simple, contained story that's not meant to go more than one or possibly just a couple of sessions. A good DM would definitely take your inexperience and lack of familiarity with the mechanics in to account and tell you when to roll and sort of teach you as you go. It's fun to watch people play even if they're just learning and there's SO much you can do with DND character and setting-wise to make it something that fits all y'alls vibes. Combat I would say is the hardest part for beginners since it's difficult to kinda figure out what you're gonna do if you've never done it before. But it's all turn based combat and honestly you'd pick it up quick after a round or two. Also the role play part can def be intimidating but Critical Role is sort of an exception when it comes to DND like they are pro VAs but not all DND campaigns are even close to that level. It's all about being silly and having a good time with your friends at the end of the day and you're all such a close group that you'd have a good time regardless if you ever wanted to give it a shot. But a good DM would be the key for sure.

To correct yall about the dnd story length thing: it CAN take all day/night, or even for months. But only if yall WANT the story to last that long. Yall can do a quick short few hours of a dnd story and be done by 8pm. And then if you feel like it was fun, you can set up another story for even longer, and still use the same characters from the last story like a sequel or season 2. The story and world does not have to be crazy or complicated for your first try.

The dm is Matthew Mercer who voices Levi Ackerman and Cassidy Overwatch, Liam O’Brien plays Gara in Naruto, Ashley Johnson is Ellie in the last of us, Travis willingham plays Thor in marvel rivals, Laura Bailey plays Abby in last of us and black widow in marvel rivals, Sam Riegel plays gonryoman in bleach, taliesin jaffe plays Blanka in street fighter. They are in a lot of things but critical role is crazy professional and high budget that you shouldn’t expect your dnd game to be close to that deep and well played

Baulder's Gate 3 is a great entry point in understanding the gameplay of DND, it just takes a lot of patience depending how you play. If any of you were to watch or listen to a DND game, I recommend checking out Dimension 20's Fantasy High series, its incredibly engaging, amazing cast and characters, awesome play boards, and the perfect amount of chaos that matches up to the Clooless' humor
