[Superman] Chapter 234: The Mysterious Visitors from the Anti-Matter Universe
🕑 Added 2024-10-02 13:16:25 +0000 UTCWhile they were implementing various plans to counter the anti-matter energy, something mysterious was occurring beyond the dimensions of their universe.
In a massive, empty anti-matter universe, devoid of any physical matter, only endless void and anti-matter energy sustained the entire realm.
A seemingly invisible yet enormous barrier separated the anti-matter universe from the positive-matter universe. However, as the positive-matter universe continued to expand, this unseen barrier was being forced to compress into the anti-matter universe.
At this moment, what was once considered a universe could now only be described as a sturdy prison confining the Anti-Monitor.
It was a prison that kept shrinking, and one day, through compression, it would cease to exist entirely.
The Anti-Monitor, originally named Mobius, was the third son of Perpetua, possessing immense power and control over the vast anti-matter universe.
However, with the ever-expanding positive-matter universe, his anti-matter domain was shrinking, and the anti-matter energy he wielded was steadily weakening.
Perhaps, in countless years, all his anti-matter energy would eventually be completely eradicated.
"No! I will never allow the anti-matter universe to fade into oblivion!"
Amidst the endless void and anti-matter energy, a figure clad in black armor stood amidst the vast sea of anti-matter, gazing through the barrier at the prosperous positive-matter universe.
His face was filled with madness and rage, as if he would not hesitate to personally destroy the flourishing sight he beheld if given the chance.
The Anti-Monitor could not accept a future where the anti-matter universe slowly perished.
"One day, I will seize the opportunity to engulf it all, filling the entire multiverse with anti-matter energy under my control!"
"I will create a vast universe entirely composed of anti-matter energy."
In his heart, he nurtured a mad plan: to strengthen the power of anti-matter, drive the anti-matter wall outward, and reverse the compression into the positive-matter universe, swallowing all reality outside.
However, anti-matter energy does not materialize from nothing—it requires the consumption of massive realities to generate.
And now, locked in the anti-matter universe by a force even greater than his own, the Anti-Monitor had no way to consume the vast realities of the positive universe to enhance his power.
"I need a special power to assist me..."
Clearly, if he wanted to launch an anti-matter attack on the positive-matter universe, he would need a much stronger force to aid him.
"Perhaps, that speedster in the positive universe could be my pawn, helping me power the anti-matter cannon and massively increase the anti-matter energy until it engulfs all of reality."
As the figure's right hand waved through the void before him, the scene beyond the barrier shifted.
A red flash of lightning, speeding rapidly, suddenly appeared before him.
"The Speed Force—the powerful energy connecting all multiversal realities. If I can possess it, my anti-matter energy will extend into all universes, swallowing the infinite multiverse and all its Earths."
As he watched the speeding figure, the Anti-Monitor's face twisted into a mad grin of obsession.
The Flash, with his connection to the Speed Force, was the perfect tool to power the anti-matter cannon.
"But to capture him, I need to devise a flawless plan..."
Trapped beyond the barrier, the Anti-Monitor knew it would take an immense toll to force his way into the positive-matter universe.
Moreover, within that universe, he wouldn't be able to wield his full strength, making it impossible to capture speedsters like the Flash on his own. Therefore, he needed a meticulously crafted plan to carry out his scheme.
"Maybe this guy could be of use..."
A playful smirk appeared on the Anti-Monitor's face as the scene before him changed once again, revealing a shadowy, seemingly abandoned figure.
"Why go through so much trouble to devour all realities?"
Just as the Anti-Monitor was eagerly preparing to launch his grand plan to consume the multiverse, a voice, dripping with amusement, suddenly echoed from nearby.
"..."
"Damn it! Who’s there?!"
The Anti-Monitor was instantly startled. This was his domain—the anti-matter universe.
Here, nothing could escape his perception. Anything, even entire universes, could not avoid the destructive pull of anti-matter energy, being wiped out in an instant.
Yet now, someone had silently arrived in his presence. How could this not shock him?
"No need to be alarmed, Mr. Mobius. We've come to help you!"
As the Anti-Monitor turned in shock, two figures appeared beside him, though he had no idea when they had arrived.
These figures resembled humans, but their faces were twisted and terrifying, with decayed skin revealing pitch-black bones underneath.
Their appearance was grotesque, like something straight out of a zombie apocalypse movie.
"Help me? Foolish mortals!"
As the absolute ruler of the anti-matter universe, the Anti-Monitor had no time for idle conversations with these trespassers.
Raising both hands, he summoned a torrent of anti-matter energy, quickly forming an anti-matter energy beam.
The dark glow of the beam, like a void of the universe, spiraled towards the two figures, aiming to obliterate them.
Its terrifying power seemed capable of erasing even space itself.
Of course, space had long since ceased to exist within the anti-matter universe.
Although this was merely a casual strike from the Anti-Monitor, it still contained the power to annihilate everything.
However, one of the figures—wearing a black suit with a small golden "S" insignia on his chest, the only highlight in the otherwise pitch-black attire—raised his damaged right hand. The skin and flesh on two of his fingers were gone, leaving only blackened bones.
The next moment, the Anti-Monitor's energy beam struck his raised hand with precision.
"What? Impossible!"
The scene left the Anti-Monitor in shock once again.
The golden insignia on the figure’s chest seemed to radiate black light, and within a moment, the anti-matter beam was absorbed by his hand, rapidly merging into his body.
"Now, do we have the qualifications to talk?"
Lowering his unscathed hand, the figure turned to the Anti-Monitor with a smile that could instill terror in anyone.
His dark face, covered with remnants of torn flesh, revealed a grin of jagged, broken teeth.
"Who...what are you? Why have you invaded my domain?"
The Anti-Monitor, no longer attacking, stared gravely at the two figures, demanding answers.
"As I said, we're here to help you achieve your plan to devour all multiversal realities."
The figure, still smiling that unsettling grin, spoke slowly to the Anti-Monitor.
...
"Helping me consume all the universes? Why would you do that?"
The Anti-Monitor looked at the two figures with confusion after hearing their claim.
He didn't believe that anyone would come to help him out of pure goodwill without any ulterior motives.
"Why? Of course, it's because we, like you, despise the endless realities of the universe!"
The figure’s face was filled with madness and hatred, as if he truly loathed the thriving universes.
"Alright, I'll take your word for it!"
"But even I need a complete plan to have a chance to consume the endless realities. What can you two possibly do to help me?"
The Anti-Monitor wasn't easily convinced but chose not to argue. Instead, he decided to listen and see how they intended to assist him in his quest to devour the infinite universes.
"Of course, it relies on him!"
The zombie Superman slowly pointed to the figure beside him, who was clad in a black bodysuit and emitting black lightning, resembling a zombie.
"Oh? Him? Is he also a speedster?"
At that moment, the Anti-Monitor’s attention was drawn to the figure. Seeing his attire, he couldn't help but express some surprise.
"Yes, he is indeed a speedster. And compared to speedsters from other universes, his power is more suited to help you complete your plan!"
The figure suddenly flashed, and black lightning burst forth from his body, similar to the brilliant lightning seen with other speedsters when they run.
"Negative Speed Force, huh?"
At this moment, the Anti-Monitor was almost completely captivated by the figure emitting black lightning.
In the positive-matter universe, a speedster with the Speed Force was someone he had longed for.
If he could find such a speedster, he could use them to power the anti-matter cannon he created.
This would enhance the anti-matter energy to devour the universe.
And now, this figure possessed energy equivalent to the Speed Force.
More importantly, the Speed Force he had was even more compatible with his anti-matter cannon than the genuine Speed Force.
There was no doubt that this person was almost the perfect candidate to power his Speed Force cannon.
"Alright, I accept your help!"
The Anti-Monitor didn't hesitate much before agreeing to their aid.
Of course, he wasn't without reservations.
He knew very well that these two sudden visitors, claiming to help him, surely had their own secret motives and schemes.
However, the Anti-Monitor had his own plans.
He intended to temporarily accept their help to execute his plan.
Even though they seemed weaker than him now, once his plan was underway and he mastered the anti-matter energy to consume all reality, he would become countless times stronger.
At that point, no matter what intentions these two had, he would crush them with his supreme power.
"We can indeed help you, but we have a small request..."
However, upon receiving the Anti-Monitor’s acceptance, the visitors proposed a condition.
"Hmph... So you won't help me without a reason. Fine, you have your chance. What’s your condition?"
The Anti-Monitor’s expression turned serious, and he coldly snorted before reluctantly speaking.
"Very simple. I just want to expand my team. After all, a team of two is a bit too small."
The zombie Superman's body flashed with a strong dark glow, and a different, dark power slowly emerged around him, as if indicating that this was not just a request but a reasonable demand under mutual benefit.
"I need to recruit some promising companions while you continue to consume the universes."
"Just recruiting some companions? That's indeed not an impossible condition..."
"However, my anti-matter energy can instantly erase everything in reality, including all living beings. Do you have the ability to protect those you need before my anti-matter energy obliterates them?"
"Also, don’t think of having me help you with that!"
The Anti-Monitor nodded slightly, seeming to find the condition acceptable.
But he still "kindly" reminded them.
"You don’t need to worry about that..."
The zombie Superman retracted his aura and slowly smiled.
"Then, let’s have a pleasant cooperation!"
At that moment, the two factions had truly reached an agreement.
...
Meanwhile, as the Anti-Monitor, zombie Superman, and zombie Flash reached their alliance,
On Earth in a certain universe, Peter and others were busy preparing for the impending crisis.
In a laboratory on the space station,
Nearly everyone had gathered there.
They had set aside their busy tasks to come together because, after the two Flashes' extensive testing, it was confirmed that the machine previously built by Cyborg could indeed be activated with the Speed Force and then connected to other universes.
Now, everyone was about to witness this historic and crucial moment firsthand.
"Barry, are you ready?"
At the control panel, Cyborg asked the Flash, who stood on a prototype treadmill, with a serious expression.
"All set. I’m in great shape..."
Standing on the large circular treadmill, Barry turned to the others with a relaxed expression.
They had tested this treadmill extensively and it had shown no issues.
"Then, follow my instructions and get ready..."
Cyborg remained very serious. No relaxation was allowed until the experiment was complete.
"RUN, Barry!"
As Barry slowly donned his mask, Cyborg’s voice suddenly rang out.
The next moment, Barry’s figure became ethereal, with red and yellow lightning surrounding him.
The treadmill also began to glow with a brilliant light.
