Love Birds
🕑 Added 2023-08-17 04:05:23 +0000 UTCThis week was the 4 year anniversary of my risky late night text confessing my crush to her, the 4 year anniversary of our first date, and the 4 year anniversary of falling head over heels.
We went to the hotel we used to meet at, before the pandemic, except this time I stayed the whole night instead of slipping out at some ungodly hour to tiptoe in the door at home trying not to wake anyone up. It was nice to stay in her arms and not have to scurry back like Cinderella trying to out-run pumpkin time.
One of my favourite tattoos she has is the pair of birds. (You can see one in each of these photos of her on top of me.) They’re swallows, which she says sailors used to get because those birdies always come back home. Hers have a lock and a key, both heart shaped. It’s tough to get good photos of them, I get so distracted when she’s close to me. I don’t even mean that in a cheeky sexual way, more that her attention is like a warm glow and it pulls me in, captivates me, I lose my train of thought and watch her green eyes flash and her jaw clench. Time seems to fly by.
Cheers and much gratitude for 4 beautiful years together. I’m so much happier now than I was then, my life feels more peaceful, more my own. I’m grateful to her for sticking by me through all of the changes and challenges, and I’m thankful for her support and stability. Sweet love birds against all odds.
Here are the first few posts about our first few dates, I blush every time I read them:
