Mingling, bleeding all over each other, like two paint colours just as you start to blend them, impossible to separate already. That’s life I think. Joy and pain and birth and death and growth and oppression all happening at the same time. It’s a mess. It’s rarely cut and dry, it’s nuanced and it’s complicated, I feel it all.
Maybe things are difficult because they’re about to be magical, maybe that magic will come just when I need it to hang on, maybe the worst happens during the best times so I’m strong enough to sustain it.
I want to be that first crocus when there’s still snow on the ground. An eclipse that happens to make the sky fall dark at precisely the moment you need cover to escape. A Jack Pine, who can open up and release seeds after the devastation of a forest fire, it needs to burn to know it’s time.”
