My love brought me roses.
“Babe I told you not to buy roses on Valentine’s Day, they inflate the prices, I’d be happy with dandelions, you don’t gotta do all this!” I’m grateful but I don’t want her to feel like I expect this sort of thing. I don’t need a fuss.
She smiles, and says “It’s a good thing you don’t make the rules.” She kisses me. She understands. I’m not used to anyone making this kind of effort. They smell incredible. The whole room is filled with their fragrance.
For Valentine’s Day I gave her a key to my house. A fancy key, and it opens my front door. She’s the only other person who has a key, I want her to feel welcome in my home. I want her to be able to let herself in.
My horoscope said I need to consider how the doors and windows of my soul are working. They’re candy apple red and they’re open.
