2. I’ve been having some writing-related-anxiety, this feeling where I hesitate to put anything down in words. I can’t commit or find the nerve to say it out loud. It happens sometimes when I’m in the middle of something. The words usually flow once I’ve had some space from it. It’s frustrating.
3. This is an update for anyone who remembers the post a year ago about the yellow tulip. She bloomed and made me smile, and I took a picture and sent it to my love, just like we promised. 🙌⚡️🌷
4. I saw my friend and their little-one yesterday, a mental health break outside from 6 feet away. It made me so fucking happy. You might not know this about me but I’m suuuuuuuch a baby lover. Like, give me all the babies and I will be happy as a clam. I’m the friend who loves to babysit my friends babies, wants to sit at the kids table, is currently penpals with a dozen kids I know during the pandemic. Not being around for all their little lives during this era has been PAINFUL! Anyway he’s 2 and he just learned how to say my name 😻 and my heart was so full just from seeing those chubby cheeks.
5. I’ve been watching the new season of Handmaid’s Tale, and also Mare of Easttown. I will have a crush on Kate Winslet until I die. What other shows are you guys digging?
6. This poem has been getting me through this week:
7. That’s my lucky number so I like it when these lists have 7 points. This weekend will finally be sunny and warm! ☀️🙌 We’re still on lockdown but I’m gonna soak up some time working on my garden and playing outside with the kids and the pup. As longtime readers know, the pup is an absolute maniac, but her vertical leap is ASTOUNDING. (She was in the “jumper cage” at the shelter... the one outfitted with special guards for dogs who can jump over 6 feet... the ones I would walk by and say “who in their right mind?” ...I digress.) One of the first things I did when we adopted her was teach her how to jump through hula hoops. She loves it. LOOOOOOOVES IT. I hold them up higher than my shoulder and she can still jump through them! That tiggeriffic energy, that springy sproingy bounce, the vigor! Anyway, it impresses all of the neighbourhood kids so we’re working on a little show. 😜 Do your pets know any cool tricks? Leave a message in the comments. 💘

My dog's special talent is making me feel guilty when I haven't taken him on his walk yet :-)

We have a lynx point Siamese and they come installed with fetch. He is also quite the jumper, he can do backflips and high jumps :3

Omg qtips?!?! This is so cuuuuute 😹
Cari
That's how mine started. She came out of the bathroom with one in her mouth after knocking the trash over. So when i would use them, I'd get an extra one out for her. I'd click it with my nails and throw it to her. One day, she hoped up on the couch so i tapped the seat and said drop it until she did. Got it, threw it, and tapped until she brought it back.

My cat digs used qtips out of the trash and wants to play with them. They are her favorite toys which is gross and cute I suppose! Anyway your cats trick is much cuter!
Cari
I had a cat that would play fetch with qtips. It was the cutest damn thing for her to walk back with the qtip hanging out of her mouth like a cigarette.
