Kindnesses forgotten. Love letters sitting unopened for months. Magic laid to rest.
Some things aren’t meant to stay with you. Sometimes it’s a year of seasons, a collection of moments as the trees change and the flowers come and go, and that’s all you get. It doesn’t make it any less magic.
I could feel it wear off, I became less valued, less memorable, less important. Seasons change.
It doesn’t have to last forever to be significant, or special. I cherish what we had even if I’m not cherished now.
You can’t nurture something dead on the vine. You can’t will someone’s feelings to extend your way. If you’re holding it up alone, let go. You deserve some rest.
