Weekly Status Report: 2025/10/12 to 10/18

Last week my report ended off at an hour and 17 minutes. I'm currently at an hour and 45 minutes, and this stretch of video is just Hasty Plot Recap, so I expect to be moving fast once I wrap up this post. I'm fast approaching talking about the GBA and GameCube games, which is mostly game footage so will be easier to edit. And really, that time may not even be accurate since I worked on some of the later parts here and there and started work on the next episode preview (which I am VERY proud of so far, btw).
I upgraded to Windows 11 successfully on Monday. There have been... some issues, but nothing that has impeded this video much.
The 2002 section has all assets laid out, finished on Friday. That is BY FAR the longest section clocking in at about an hour and two minutes. I'm on the 2003 section and just about to end talking about the Hanzo fight. I don't know how I recorded "doom-diddly-oom" without laughing, but I did, and now I laugh every time I play it back. Admittedly, the HPR of the Burning Inner Strength Arc really IS hasty. It's an eight episode-long arc and my script on it is only two pages long. Kid Muscle fights three guys, a few characters are introduced, two of which die during the arc's story, and Kid learns how to master his power.
I've had to do A LOT of re-records this week, either correcting information, making the recording sound better, compressing a section, or a combination of those. And I can already tell I'm going to want to re-record the section about the games because I sound really stuffed up in the existing recording (thanks, allergies).
As I go, I am still trimming down sections to make the editing and viewing experience less boring. What you guys are getting is a short version of this video, and it's still almost three hours long.
On Tuesday I found out there is a new English-language piece of Kinnikuman content coming... a conversational English textbook due to launch in November. 🙃 Oh well, it'll get a quick mention. I already had to comedically update the script to include the upcoming Nisei fansubs from Saiko no Fansub.
I took Thursday off because I went to the midnight launch of Pokémon Legends Z-A with FirearmofMutiny. I got the Switch 2 bundle, so yay, I have a Switch 2! But most of Thursday was working on this video; I didn't play any of the game until a bit after 3pm on stream (was having technical difficulties, so I couldn't start at 3 sharp). Even now I haven't really played it all that much because I am locked in on getting this done. I still don't have an ETA on the Kinnikuman video. Just... it's ready when it's ready.
Oh, and this week I learned how to extract individual tracks from 5.1 surround audio. I am using it for the Kinnikuman video but won't say how. 🤭
