Man, this story is long! Spent like, two months worth of free time the first time around, and then another to catch up to all the other stories I stopped reading in the meantime.

At six and a half weeks, this TSM shutdown is longer than the Trump shutdown. People aren't going hungry in this shutdown, except for being hungry for more story. That said, I would rather wait for the story to be done right, not rushed for some artificial deadline. As the short order cook said to the guy complaining about having to wait for his eggs, "would you rather wait for your eggs or have your eggs waiting for you." Quality matters! Hope you are feeling better soon.

well thank goodness for medicare then, i'm disabled and on a fixed income and also thank goodness for the state of oregon picking up the rest, i have no co-pays, i'm so far below the poverty line that when i look up i can barely see it...........peace out........(drops mic)

if you are going to travel for dentistry, go to Poland that's where Europeans go if it gets to expensive in their own country and their very capable there

I... wouldn't go there. The NHS is not exactly a model of best medical care. Not that the US system doesn't have its issues: it does. But the NHS does as well, though they're different issues, I suppose. As to dental work being expensive, that's true the world over, to varying degrees.

I live in the US and I've had several root canals, crowns, and bridges due to a few years of depression and bad hygiene. Long story short, my teeth cost me about $20,000 (enough to buy a new car), and about half of that was deeply discounted at the local School of Dentistry. Dental insurance is a joke here - you pay $600 to $800 a year for a 30-50% copay and a $1000 coverage limit (unless you are on some sort of government subsidized or massive group plan).

As Tefler is in the UK and a British citizen his bills are mostly covered by the NHS so it's unlikely to be like in the US where one might need a small mortgage to pay the dentist.

I've read the whole story over 3x now. It's been an interesting progression. I've noticed a few typos in a few of the chapters... Tefler - would you like a note of the typo's I've noticed?

My wisdom teeth are giving me trouble and I'm in a lot of pain at the moment. I'm half way through 116, but writing has ground to a halt. I'll definitely finish the chapter and eBook by the end of the month, but no ETA atm.
