Look, it's not exactly Dontai's fault that he misses certain things. Like when he looks away for a few secs to do something, somehow there were many times he missed an important scene/shot. Sure, I'd recommend that he pause and then look away to do what he needs to do, but you can't exactly expect him to know what's coming either; it's his first watch. What I'm disappointed in is that we didn't point out that he missed a post-credit scene in the previous episode. I saw someone say that it doesn't really matter since scenes like that were more so for those who were watching it weekly at the time. But now that you jump to this episode, you have no idea how that whole interaction between Eren and Reiner even came about; he lacked context from the post-credit scene. I don't think you can blame him for that either coz how the hell is he supposed to know? I'm just surprised none of us pointed it out. Tough.

The issue is not that you didn't realize it was Eren. You did not look at the screen and see when it shows his face up close. The whole scene builds up to that and you are looking down.
