I’m having a reread and when Nao initially joined part time, Souta is so cranky about it, they still don’t get along. When Souta asks Nao why he’s joined, his response is “….does it matter”. I had thought Nao’s crush kicked off around the time Souta told him he’d looked up all his favourite bands… but now I’m thinking he already had a long time crush, but that he’d been burnt before so decided to just be distant and rude to Souta instead. I sure hope Aina will set the record straight 😂

This isn't what I wanted from this comment. 😭 Why did you all have to agree? Or make it worse? Souta is too good natured and kind heart. I'm gonna die having to deal with him constantly letting Nao go to help him get better. IRL Nao would probably think Souta wasn't worth the effort to try and convince that Nao wants to be with him. Some people get turned off when you're not assertive. Please Nao understand where Souta is coming from.

Now he can't do nothing but stand there and soak in these amazing but confusing words coming from his crush's mouth. And the slouched relaxed way Nao is standing when he says those last lines?! Homie is dropping new facts on Souta like he's telling him they go to the same school. Sir, this is news to him. He didn't know! 😭❤️

Oooo, I like the way you think. Other twists on it might be Souta notices how happy Nao is with a new music friend. So he gives Arashi the tickets instead and asks him to not mention Souta got them. At the concert Arashi slips up and mentions it was Souta, throwing Nao off. OR! Souta gives Nao the tickets, encourages Nao to go with Arashi and they do. Afterward, or on their way there they run into Keisuke who mentions that Souta only got a job for those tickets. Which in turn messes up Nao. 👀👀 Not us all taking this slight, one time mention of Arashi and running like hell with it. 😂 Homie hasn't even shown their face and we're all trippin.

i could so see a fan fic outta - he gifts the tickets, nao takes his new friend, but as time of the event goes on nao slowly realises he messes up and should’ve taken souta. or even nao buys his own tickets for him and arashi, but souta already bought him some but didn’t give them to him, so souta goes with inoue instead and nao sees and gets upset ..i’m not a fan fic writer i’m fully procrastinating assignments rn

Souta may well be happy that Nao is finally being welcomed by other people and making new friends, but I feel like Souta is also going to be thinking, 'wait, Nao has more friends, all these people like him and think he's as awesome as I do, he's going to realize I'm... sub-par 😅😭" ... hm does that seem like Souta? There are so many amazing things in this update! First, how Nao's behavior is SO different! Not only with other, but even with Souta. He's a lot more relaxed, even his teasing has changed now. He's feeling lighter and it's so visible! You also subtly put Souta's worst fear there, in a very Souta way of not making a big deal out of it. Him making sure Nao won't forget/abandon him now that things are changing just had to be done, cause it is a very real worry of Souta's. Then that Arashi guy giving me the CHILLS and making me kinda TERRIFIED. When Nao said he had plans with him later, I thought Souta was going to be kinda worried. But he's always that little ray of sunshine, wishing for what it's better for Nao. I'm glad he apparently didn't feel intimidated (this may very well change, but I'm just gonna enjoy this win today). Also, I'm more certain now that we'll meet that new character you recently showed us when Souta's at the Café later. Two new characters that we don't know what to expect of make me afraid, ngl. But well, the plot is moving, that's what matters *bites nails* And lastly, of course, THE FUCKING MOMENT!!!!!!! OH MY GOD!! Ok, of course we know it was Souta lashing out on Nao that made him actually show up for practice. But there's a difference in him SHOWING UP and him JOINING THE TEAM!! I'm getting ready to swoon next update with Nao saying he actually always wanted to be friends with Souta, or get closer to him in some manner, but not knowing how (considering Souta seemed to hate him), and that's why he accepted Takahashi's invitation to join the club. It makes excited if this happens not only because it's gonna be CUTE AS HELL Nao finally showing Souta's importance to him even before he knew it (and potentially, as I believe, that Nao had a crush on him all along), but also cause maybe we'll finally learn more about what happened between them in their first year (I have a theory, let's see if it's correct). Anyway, this might be the longest comment I've ever written in my entire life, so I'm gonna stop here. There's a huge possibility I'll keep coming back and commenting even more as I re-read it nonstop, but well... it's nothing new how much I talk :D
