Even for the celebrity type characters like Lucio and Dva they tried to justify it lol. DVA enlisted in the military and was chosen to pilot the mech basically because her reflexes, reaction speed, and fine motor skills from professional gaming made her an ideal candidate for handling the mech controls.

ALSO I might keep adding to this thread because I have a mental illness but the Hanzo/Cassidy ship is so popular and it’s SO funny to me because in my head, Cassidy spent however many years being (in my mind) best friends with this angry Japanese cyborg and then you meet the man who did this to him? In my mind Cassidy wouldn’t have kissed him, he would have thrown hands ON SIGHT

also i think a story mode should focus on pharah because i think pharah should have been their brand mascot to begin with and her relationship with all the other characters is SO fun on account of her graduating from overwatch brat to one of its modern commanders (with jack and ana specifically refusing to take up leadership roles again?)

we're around the same age and had a lot of the same formative interests which is great and today i had the experience of knowing more about one of your topics because we dropped off overwatch lore at different times. can't believe it didn't sweep you up again when jack became canonically gay that was everywhere for me when i had one and a half feet out of the door. also i watched you list off as many subsequent heroes as you could and i'm just sat here like "they don't even know about the evil hamster from the moon..." (tone: shrek 2 they don't even have dental). i could start adding a bunch of lore facts i know that you misremembered but i think that would say a lot more about me than it would about you. great video! i had fun!

i remember getting briefly into overwatch lore via youtube clips and fanwork and then finding out that the video game was nothing like that what so ever and immediately removing myself from that space because i knew id go crazy for these guys and for why

Nobody shipping anyone with the gorilla is just a sign that they're cowards. Or that Winston is the aroace bestie and that's good too. This is also the exact unhinged overwatch content I was hoping for, thank you for the meal (it was pretty coherent and everything!) Story mode Overwatch could've been like soul caliber and it would've been glorious. But Blizzard continues making poor choices, unfortunately nobody is surprised.

I feel like I sat down at a bar right next to someone who'd just come back from the Overwatch Dimension and was telling their tale of all the characters they met. Immaculate vibes. As a fellow "had an Overwatch Lore Phase in like 2017" person: people shipped Tracer and Widowmaker because of the first (or maybe second?) ever short which implied those two had some sort of fucked up cat-and-mouse dynamic and those are always fun. Also iirc correctly some people also shipped Pharah and Mercy which just adds to the absurdity of imagining that all occurring while in the Same Base as Pharah's mother??? Wild times in the fandom, truly. Anyways last I checked on Overwatch the organisation's newest member was the sentient hamster from the moon, who piloted a giant mech hamster ball. So I say, give me the hamster story mode, Blizzard.

Brigitte is actual one of Torbjörn's daughter, and is Reinhardt's squire. theres a very nice animatic about them. Tracer and widowmaker had an animatic together which i think is why people started shipping them.

If you like the concept of "robot has life" you should read the murderbot diaries. Their the books of all time! Their about the titular, self-named murderbot and the varieties of events that happen to it. All it wants to do is keep its humans safe and watch bad tv. But it cant. Because things keep happening. 10/10 highly recommend.
