Jade was determined to take Kathleen to church. At first, Jack didn’t get it. Not until they got there.
Kathleen was flushed and sweaty, continuously fidgeting and tugging at her clothing, trying to make the expansiveness of her form any less obscene.
They had guilted her into coming.
“Don’t you want the baby to grow up Christian?”
“We really need to arrange for the baptism.”
When Kathleen entered the chapel, the eyes of every attendee were immediately drawn. Middle-aged women who attended for the sheer purpose of exchanging small-town gossip stirred like vultures, salivating at the scandal. The hot topic of Becky Sanders showing up in a strapless dress was suddenly meaningless, as everyone stared at Kathleen, mouths all hanging ajar.
Kathleen was breathing heavily as she stood there. She had stuffed down no less than six butter-drenched bagels on the car right over. Her appetite was voracious, and there was seldom a moment that she didn’t have food in her hand or her mouth. Even at present, she was industriously chewing on five caramels.
Kathleen was wearing a wine-colored dress covered with flower lace patterns. It would have been stylish and classy on her, were it not for the fact that it was being stretched to the extreme. And this one actually was a maternity piece. Kathleen had decidedly outgrown it just in the few weeks since it had been purchased.
The dress was sleepless with a box neckline, the stretch of the material being truly tested at that moment. Kathleen had only gotten bigger since her growth spurt on the night of the football game. Her belly was huge, so big that she looked as though she was past due with triplets. The extent of the swell, combined with her very-plump backside, rendered the dress shorter than it was intended to be, as it slid along her soft thighs. Her fingers consistently fumbled to tug it down from riding up her pillowy posterior.
Kathleen’s breasts had also gotten bigger and fuller – full of milk, by the looks of it. The mounds resembled cantaloupes in size, her nipples unusually large, bulging out visibly from swollen areolas. It was obvious that Kathleen wasn’t wearing a bra, but Jack couldn’t fault her. Those things looked sensitive.
Kathleen was breathing heavily as she stood there in the entry. In addition to her more obvious growths, her hips had widened, thighs had thickened, and her face was rounder. The weight was just piling on.
She was wearing dark red lipstick, her wavy hair hanging around her shoulders. She waddled slowly forward, opting now for flats instead of her signature heels. She looked uncomfortable in her own skin, but she stubbornly raised her chin and proceeded forward.
The whispers weren’t nearly discrete. People goggled and pointed at Kathleen, the self-righteous matriarch. The known community staple. Yet here she was, unmarried, middle-aged, and pregnant to a ludicrous extreme. Jack and Jade smugly followed behind her, enjoying the spectacle she was causing.
It was amazing to watch her try to negotiate her mass into the pews. Just before Kathleen could properly attempt to shift her weight down, the minister came over, quietly disturbed.
“My dear — what have you done?” he said, hands motioning, eyes bulging.
Kathleen’s face went rosy as she gripped hard on the back of the bench that she so desperately wanted to plop her swollen ass down against. “Reverend,” she said breathlessly. “It — it’s not what it seems — you see, it was my son-in-law —”
There were choked gasps. The pastor was scandalized. People gave Jack and Jade looks of shock.
Blushing a little himself, Jack tried to correct them, “What she means —”
“Nrrggghhhh!” Kathleen gripped her stomach.
“She’s going into labor!” someone cried, which was a reasonable thing to think, given Kathleen’s hugeness. But Jack knew better.
She groaned and arched as her belly shifted, pushing forward, her face getting redder as her dress stretched and tightened against her. “Gnnnhnhhh…” she moaned, her face twisting as she cupped the underside of her mass. It continued to roll forward, her breasts swelling with it, ascending and bloating until her cleavage was bubbling over her neckline.
When the growth spurt ended with a visible quake, Kathleen was gasping for breath, her belly so hugely massive, she looked as though she was due with quints by then. Her attire now resembled a mini dress, barely covering her ass. And her breasts had swollen up to the size of honeydews. She whined, hugging her swell, which now outspanned her waist. “So…bigg…” she puffed out.
And Jack found himself staring. From Kathleen’s clumsy legs — somehow she’d managed to knock one of her shoes off — to her heaving body, her belly almost looking as though it was pulsating. Her huge nipples had only gotten thicker and longer, looking ready to leak at any moment. Her bellybutton was protruding out against the straining cotton, looking the size of a golf ball.
Most of the congregation members had gotten up by then, standing around as shocked spectators, wondering if they had just witnessed some lewd miracle.
“Maybe…you should start the sermon,” Jade awkwardly suggested, giving the baffled pastor an entreating smile as Jack absently, consolingly patted Kathleen’s back.
Oh, this was too perfect.
