Lisa was staring.
Rachel’s body had been squeezed into what Rachel could only describe as a club dress. It was little, black, and strappy. Rachel found herself consistently pulling down the hem from riding up too high, or tugging up the deep V-neck, trying to give more coverage to her considerable span of cleavage.
The dress was skintight, hugging again her body and showing off the jutting swell. Rachel had never felt so exposed and embarrassed.
One of her hands rested low on her belly, just under her navel, her lips twisted in discomfort from the weight and pressure low on her torso.
“That one’s definitely a keeper,” said Lisa, biting the corner of her bottom lip.
Rachel made to go back into the fitting room, but Lisa stopped her.
“No,” said Lisa. “Keep it on. I told you, we’re going out after this.”
She can’t be serious, Rachel thought in distress, though she forced a bitter little smile as she and Lisa began to gather up the multitude of ill-fitting clothing Lisa had picked out for her.
“Where?” Rachel asked through gritted teeth as the two made their way towards the register.
“You know, here and there. Let’s have a proper night out on the town,” said Lisa dryly. She threw a shady look Rachel’s way.
Rachel refrained from mentioning that it was mid-afternoon. “Great,” she deadpanned.
The ultimate cost of the clothing left Rachel’s jaw hanging.
But Lisa hardly seemed to notice the gigantic sum as she swiped her credit card and idly gave Rachel a once-over. “How about a snack?”
Despite the fact that she had just eaten a huge breakfast, Rachel allowed Lisa to drag her to a soft pretzel shop at the mall, where Lisa purchased her no less than six pretzels of varying flavors accompanied by sweet, savory, and sharp dipping sauces.
Resignedly, Rachel dug in. Lisa, herself, got a low-fat frozen yogurt sample at the booth next door. Not even a full cone our cup, just a sample. Like, a micro-spoonful, one that didn’t necessitate payment. She licked it slowly as she wandered back, watching Rachel rapidly demolished the hot pretzels on the creaky chair she occupied.
“Cravings, huh?” said another patron bemusedly.
Lisa appraised her charge. “You’re getting good at that,” she noted.
A small belch popped up Rachel’s throat. She reddened and covered her mouth, but eventually managed to chew and swallow her last bite. Then she pressed her lips to refrain from groaning, feeling utterly stuffed. Though she felt flushed, tight, and lethargic, Rachel tried not to show it. “Thanks for treating me,” she managed, fighting back the sarcasm in her tone.
“Oh, we’re only getting started. Plenty more treats to come.” Lisa idly flicked her sample spoon at the forehead of the pimply teenager behind the pretzel register. He flailed and toppled in his efforts to dodge it. “Let’s go.”
Rachel didn’t think she could handle any more of Lisa’s “generosity,” but she didn’t have much of a choice. She gave a grimace of a smile as she hauled herself up, huffing out a long breath, her belly heaving with her efforts. God, she was packed.
They drove around town in an idle, indulgent way that Rachel supposed Lisa was used you. Rich people stuff. And Lisa wasn’t a good driver. She swerved around like a lunatic as Rachel held on for dear life.
“What’s baby doing now?” Lisa asked, seeming relaxed despite it all. She extended her hand, causing Rachel to jerk at the surprise of Lisa cupping her belly.
Lisa drummed her fingers lightly against it, causing Rachel to shiver at the sensation.
“Erm…I don’t know…sleeping?” Rachel wasn’t exactly a pro at this.
Unexpectedly, Lisa’s hand lingered there, fingers smoothing over Rachel’s belly so her palm rested against it. She continued to steer with her right hand, and maybe Rachel was imagining it, but Lisa seemed to proceed a little more slowly, her maneuvers a bit more calm. Was she actually enjoying Rachel’s company? It was an odd thing to consider. But they had, even recently. They had enjoyed each other’s company quite a lot. Rachel flushed at the memory.
Lisa brought them to an amusement park, of all places. Rachel couldn’t even fit through the turnstiles for entry into the park. The teenage gatekeeper gaped for a moment before directing her towards the handicap entrance. The other people waiting in line threw commiserating looks Rachel’s way.
“How does the roller coaster sound?” Lisa taunted once they actually got into the park.
“Lisa, I’m—erm — there’s a baby,” said Rachel pathetically.
But Lisa seemed to delight in dragging Rachel up the line of each ride, to watch Rachel be turned away by a baffled ride operator and scowled at by disgusted patrons. People looked at Rachel as though she was insane. They would shake their heads at the heavily pregnant teen attempting to get on roller coasters. It was mortifying, and Lisa giggled the whole time.
It was an odd relief when they stopped for snacks. Rachel was just grateful for the reprieve from her humiliation.
Lisa ordered two corndogs, three cheeseburgers, a chocolate-drenched funnel cake, four churros, some cheese fries, and an XXL vanilla milkshake. The two girls hauled the bounty over to one of the tables set up around the stand, the clutter of people waiting for their own food gawking at them the whole time.
After they unceremoniously dumped the food onto table, Lisa grinned at Rachel in anticipation. Accustomed to the routine by then, Rachel got to work.
She surprised even herself by how efficiently she gobbled down the burgers, chomped through the corndogs, sucked down the churros, and picked apart the funnel cake, stuffing each piece into her mouth. She ate as rapidly as she could, then glugged the thick milkshake in only seconds. By the time Rachel finished, she was gasping for breath. Nearby, a woman and her toddler were both staring at her in morbid fascination, the melting ice cream from a half-eaten cone running down the toddler’s hand.
Rachel tried to gather her bearing, her whole body feeling hot. Her abdomen by then was painfully tight while pressing into the edge of the table.
“Can we — get out of here?” Rachel gasped out, the hot sun making her feel like a furnace. Additionally she was a little dizzy. This swollen body just didn’t do well with heat, or crowds – or spectators.
“Yeah bitch, we don’t want to be late for the concert,” Lisa answered brightly.
“Concert?” Rachel parroted.
Over the next few hours, Lisa proceeded to drag Rachel to a crowded concert venue, another mall, a fashion expo, a humiliating birthing class where Lisa volunteered Rachel to demonstrate labor-breathing exercises, and a restaurant or two between each stop.
By the time they got back to Lisa’s house, Rachel was exhausted. She slumped down on the couch, breathing heavily while arching her back, pushing her belly out to stretch her sore spine. She just felt so tight. Any wrong motion rewarded her with a shooting pain deep in her gut. She couldn’t believe how much Lisa had forced her eat. The constant binges combined with her size, and the sheer act of being on her feet all day, had left her whole body sore and her belly ready to burst. A loud belch erupted from Rachel’s throat, though it didn’t do anything to decrease her tightness or nausea. She groaned, just wanting to pass out and discover this had all been some terrible dream.
“You were a good sport today,” Lisa said, arms crossed as she surveyed Rachel’s sorry state.
Rachel’s eyes were closed. “I’m just t-trying to show you that we — we don’t have to be enem —” Rachel’s voice caught in her throat, her mouth snapping shut as her eyes flew open. She stared off as she tried to comprehend the heated sensation stirring deep in her core as it grew and filled her till her skin started to prickle. It felt like…it felt like before. Her hands clasped her belly. She began to shake.
“Didn’t I mention?” said Lisa casually. “It’s that auto setting again. I put it on DAILY.”
Rachel was growing! Her eyebrows furrowed as her belly tightened, the contents shifting, and broadening, as she struggled to breathe. The mound heaved with her heavy breathing, but also its growth—it was growing, surging forward as she whined in protest, hugging it as though to contain everything.
The spurt didn’t last for more than a moment. When it stopped, and Rachel was huge. Just, fucking, huge. A sob tore up her throat. She felt helpless. Defeated. “Nine months,” she whimpered, miserably aware of the consequences of this progression. She was at the point of no return. She was having this baby. Her tragic moment was disrupted by another belch coming up her throat.
Lisa raised her brows. “What? Nine? Oh no, phlegm, you’re mistaken. We didn’t increase the MONTHS setting, just the LITTER.”
The litter? …That meant… “Oh,” Rachel breathed, blinking. That would mean that she was still at eight months, but was now carrying…two babies. She looked back down at her belly and gulped. Christ.
“We’re going to give you another every day,” Lisa went on in a chipper tone. “Until you’re ready to pop them out. It’s your call, of course.”
Rachel’s panic surged. “E-every—d-day—?”
“Brighten up, you actually look kind of good. Like, really good.” And by Lisa’s rapt gaze, Rachel could tell that she meant it. Lisa was starting to…to like Rachel like this. Rachel didn’t know whether that was a good or a bad thing.
“Two is too much,” said Rachel feebly, her body even heavier, even more uncomfortable than before. She didn’t even want to try to get up, feeling too intimidated by the hugeness of the swell.
“Women do it all the time,” Lisa countered, creeping forward. “Come on, you’re not even at term…Pilgrim.”
Rachel’s cheeks warmed. She wasn’t certain why. It wasn’t as though she had been complemented. It was just the notable absence of Lisa’s regular insult.
Lisa sat beside her. Rachel self-consciously tugged at the dress she was crammed into. It was even tighter than before, close to splitting apart, hem barely covering her panties. Kind of a waste of a purchase, but Rachel didn’t doubt that Lisa had the resources to expend.
“You’ve always been such a shy one,” Lisa noted, leaning closer.
“And you’ve always been really m-mean,” Rachel mumbled back.
Lisa took her chin. “I’m not being mean now.”
Then their bodies connected. Rachel wasn’t sure who kissed whom, but she liked to think that it was her, who had initiated, as though to protest of Lisa’s last accusation. Rachel knew she was shy, but when it came to Lisa, it wasn’t something she could afford. Lisa was too singular. Moments like these couldn’t be squandered, when they were few and far between, and there was a finite number.
Rachel gasped as Lisa touched her belly again, now cupping it low on the swell.
“Do you know how hot you look?” Lisa murmured against her lips, her hand continuing to roam. “All overwhelmed, all full of babies. Fuck, it turns me on.”
Rachel hummed in protest as Lisa pulled away.
But Lisa shifted, sliding down so that she was kneeling in front of Rachel who was helplessly sprawled on the couch. She all but disappeared beneath the mound. But Rachel could feel as Lisa held the sides of her belly, then pressed her face against it. She nuzzled it and kissed it, pushing up Rachel’s dress so she could run her tongue along it as Rachel arched and groaned. Rachel couldn’t believe how good it felt. Lisa crawled up until she was kissing Rachel’s breasts. Rachel ran her hand through Lisa’s longhair.
“I can’t…oh god…” Rachel panted. She pulled Lisa’s head back to meet her eyes, then fumbled for words, “T-This pregnancy, it’s making me really…” She trailed off, reddening more.
Lisa smiled slowly. “Let’s go upstairs,” she suggested.
“I don’t think I can get up,” responded Rachel with a breathy laugh.
Lisa stood and reached down, taking Rachel’s hands.

The next morning, Rachel awoke feeling warm, tingly, and surprisingly pleased before she became fully conscious of her surroundings.
She blinked around the large, elegant bedroom, and the large round bed she was lying against. Then Rachel looked at the figure beside her, sprawled face down, silky hair concealing her face.
A happy sigh escaped Rachel’s throat even though she didn’t consciously concede to being this happy.
It was just the way Lisa looked right now. Guard down, looking so cute and sexy, her smooth back kissed by the sun leaking in through the fine white curtains.
And then Rachel saw it.
The remote lay just past Lisa’s waist. It was right there, on the bed, unguarded. Rachel could lean over and grab it easily, she could —
Rachel remembered her form. She frowned down at the huge belly impeding her, the contents just starting to stir. With this, she was inflexible, awkward and graceless. Every movement would be heavy and clumsy, but she knew she had to try.
Rachel slowly sat up with a grimace from the effort. But she managed to push herself upright, the weight of her belly shifting towards her lap. Her large breasts were shelved atop her belly, as she breathed heavily, trying to gather her composure. Her right hand absently rubbed circles around her protruding abdomen as the other hand leaned on the mattress behind her.
Rachel leaned over as slowly as she could manage, her back immediately feeling the strain. She extended her right hand, trying to keep balanced on the left one. Her belly brushed against Lisa’s side, causing Rachel to grit her teeth, but Lisa remained motionless.
Rachel leaned farther, her belly pressing more, as her fingers ghosted over the remote. Just another inch, and she could grab it. She stretched her arm as much as she could, leaning just a tiny bit closer —
Lisa stirred. Rachel immediately withdrew.
Lisa sat up with a yawn, stretching her arms over her head. “Morning, Pilgrim,” she said with a smile as she pulled her disheveled mane out of her face.
“Morning,” Rachel squeaked back.
She hoped she got another chance.
