Graduation started off copacetic.
Becky somehow avoided her parents until the ceremony, and when she lumbered out onto stage to do her valedictorian speech, she was a flustered, waddling mess.
She could see her family in the crowd, and the utterly shocked expressions on their faces. Becky didn't know how she was going to explain this after the ceremony. She was mostly just focused on keeping the insects contained inside her churning gut, at least until she got through her speech.
Her belly was pulsating; visibly throbbing. Her graduation robes were tented out and stretched out over the formidable mass which was approaching the size of a bolder.
The mound pressed against the dais, separating her from it by at least a couple of feet. She awkwardly reached out to grasp the microphone with her clammy hands, pulling it to her lips.
"Good morning everyone," Becky managed, voice quavering. She did her best to ignore the shocked stares, not only from her own family members, but the families of all her classmates gathered to watch, in addition to other students who were just confused as to why she would carry on with her bizarre "social experiment" all the way to graduation.
"We made it," Becky breathed with a strained smile and a rough chuckle. She turned her gaze to the front rows of the crowd, where her fellow graduating seniors would be sitting neatly, all hopeful and keen.
But they weren't. Many looked flustered, but not from nerves. Some were fidgeting in their seats, others grasping at the stomachs or chests. Rey's face was scrunched up and bright red as she let out forceful breaths. Her boobs looked absolutely massive, on the brink if tearing right through her graduation robes. Another student, Pamela, head of the debate club, seemed to have developed an advanced pregnancy in only a matter of days, a large belly perched in her lap, looking at term. Yet another student squirmed and released an audible groan, before two damp spots appeared at the chest of her robes. Becky saw something moving on the grass beneath the seats, and as she squinted, she could just make out something purple. An...insect?
"So great job. Congrats," Becky wrapped up her speech abruptly. She could now feel the growing panic amongst the assembly. All focus was pinned to her, and not just for her speech. People wanted answers.
God, it was hot. She was sweating even worse than usual.
Not even waiting for the Dean to bring over her diploma, Becky turned and waddled off the stage, but she didn't return to her place amongst the other seniors.
She walked into the school and found a cool, empty classroom to take retreat within.
The student desks looked so small and feeble, and there was no way she could squeeze her mass between the table and attached chair. Instead, Becky gingerly pulled back the teacher's chair, and eased herself down, groaning from the strain of balancing her bobbing mound. The metal and screws creaked, and she just hoped she didn't end up on the ground.
Oh god, Becky thought, once she had a moment to truly register what was going on. The bugs, they were—they were spreading somehow. They were infecting other people. It had all happened so fast.
Becky mopped some sweat off her face with her hand. She suddenly felt suffocated in her robes, and began to desperately unbutton them, pulling them apart, first letting her swollen, sweaty cleavage bulge free where her breasts were practically popping out of her straining bra. Her belly was next, the mound absolutely huge where it was perched against her thighs, practically taking over her torso. Becky groaned and arched as it gave a tremor, and was left gasping for breath once the activity mitigated. She looked utterly ludicrous sprawled there, masses protruding from her robes. She feared that someone would wander in and see her but felt so depleted, she couldn't even entertain the concept of getting up to lock the door.
What am I going to do?Becky wondered blankly as she sat there breathing. She had achieved her goal of finishing high school. She had gotten into her top choice of college. Now all that was left were the things she had ridden off as distractions, things she had tried to ignore for so long in her venture towards academic success.
There was a scream from outside. Becky's eyes widened. She craned her next and was able to look down on the ceremony from the classroom window nearest to her seat.
The scene was chaotic. People had leapt from their seats and started to flail. Some were patting at themselves, others screaming, or stumbling away.
"Oh god," Becky breathed. It took an extraordinary amount of effort, but she somehow managed to heave herself up from her seat. She waddled slowly towards the window, her breasts bobbing and belly lurching. The insects seemed content inside her for whatever reason. She had indulged in a massive amount of syrup that morning in preparation for her long day, so maybe it had actually helped.
"Oh fuck," Becky breathed as she gazed down at her peers.
Reyna seemed to have been pushed over the edge, because she had pulled open her robes, the tank top she was wearing serving as little more than a bandeau as her breasts visibly contracted, her shirt tenting out prominently at the nipples where Becky could tell that Reyna was about to birth more of the slugs.
A girl was sprawled on her back on the lawn, thighs spread as she puffed out breaths like she was giving birth, her large belly practically bouncing above her.
A young man was clutching the groin of his pants where a cantaloupe-sized swell had formed, zipper starting to tear open.
One student was hunched over belching slugs right there the lawn. Other students were just swatting at themselves, the alien bugs visibly crawling over their bodies.
A girl was visibly expanding, her robes slowly tightening as she clutched her belly, as though trying to push it back in.
The scene was an absolute nightmare.
And it was all Becky's fault. "I have to get out of here," she breathed in anguish.
With that, she waddled herself around and made her way towards the door.

Becky had her high school diploma mailed directly to her college.
Rather than facing her family or having to explain the humiliation of what was happening to her, Becky enrolled in an early summer program and left for university directly after graduation.
There were news stories coming out about her small town. Talk of mass hysteria, alien parasites, bizarre conspiracy theories and city-wide quarantines. Becky tried not to pay attention to it much.
By the first day of her summer program, she was almost used to the stares. People even stopped or stumbled to gawk at Becky's hugeness. Becky just struggled to waddle through campus. She could feel sticky syrup seeping from her nipples and into the under her clothes. She just hoped the padding would last through her first class, because the output had been getting much greater lately, and the last thing she wanted were wet, goey, orange moist patches on the chest of her clothing on top of everything else she was dealing with.
Becky gave a quiet gasp as she felt a fat insect plop out of her groin and to the ground beneath her dress, but she didn't look back. Didn't want to think about it. She would focus on her grades and nothing else.
And in the evening, in her dorm room, when she was able to truly relax, she would spread her thighs and allow the bugs free to roam and do as they pleased, giving her massive belly a break from the relentless, growing pressure. Often the bugs would crawl up and taste the sweet syrup her swollen breasts seemed so keen to produce for them. Her body would shudder from the varying sensations of pressure and passage, her cheeks warm, skin dewy and flushed.
Becky had come to terms with the anomaly she had become. She was their home. A sort of nest. They would multiply, grow, and stretch her wide, and she would do her best to accommodate them all. All that mattered were grades, after all.
