-
When Lucas was twelve, his mother had sat him down and explained what he was.
“There’s always the risk of your bovine DNA kicking in more,” Cona had explained. “And these changes are likely…permanent.” Cona looked down at herself. “So just be prepared. We will never be anywhere close to ordinary, but that’s what makes us so special.”
Lucas knew his mother’s story—how a practical joke had brought their family into being. How his mother didn’t regret one bit of it.
Yet Lucas couldn’t help surveying his mother in uneasiness. While Cona seemed content with her mounds, Lucas didn’t think he himself could live in such a way. His mother was just so…different, and with no way to hide it. Lucas couldn’t bear the thought of undergoing such an extreme transformation. He was just grateful that he was a guy.
-
Six years later, present day, Lucas stood in his mirror. God, he was getting huge. Lucas tried on a sweater. He clutched his udder as he surveyed his reflection. Like the others, this sweater was tight on him now, awkwardly fitting, and failing to hide his growing mounds. Releasing a groan, Lucas tugged it off and pulled on a top that was somewhat looser. This was even worse, the thinness of the fabric drawing attention to his bloated abdomen. Lucas tried tugging and stretching the fabric loose, but it was no use. Everything was evident. The belly weight was one thing, but the two sets of breasts on his chest was a definite oddity that everyone would notice.
Lucas stared at himself in displeasure. None of his outfits fit him anymore. His alternative was sweatpants and a couple of huge, layered T-shirts, but tonight was a big night. He wanted to at least make an effort.
Lucas resorted to pulling a pair of too-tight strapless bras around his breasts. As all four mounds had developed to Ds by then, this was extremely uncomfortable, but it would have to do.
Lucas continued to examine himself in the mirror. He had disguised the individual masses, and now just looked generally fat. He supposed it could be considered a success, reluctant as he was to classify it as that.
His back felt tense lately, probably from all the weight he was putting on. He knew that things couldn’t go on like this. He didn’t know how, but he was going to have to end things with Ralph.
Lucas pulled on a nice black jacket he could no longer button closed. He paired it with some fashionable sweatpants, then sneakers, and left his room. He could hear his parents having a discussion in the kitchen. He headed for the front door, but then his name came up.
“We can’t keep pretending it isn’t happening, Webber. Lucas is changing by the day.”
“His cow DNA is just coming to the forefront. We both knew this might happen one day.”
“It’s all just so sudden. Look how big he’s getting! He—he’s not like his brothers. He’s not my little boy anymore.”
Lucas’s face heated and his throat tightened, but he stopped himself from speaking. He didn’t care if his parents heard as he slammed the door shut behind him. Lucas walked as fast as his swollen body would allow him to. He fell into panting as he made his way towards the school, then stood outside the double doors to the gymnasium as other students filtered in and out.
It’s okay, Lucas told himself. Ignore them. What do they know about my body anyway? Lucas looked down at his mounds concealed under his shirt and jacket. I'm perfectly fine.
Lucas stood there for a while, breathing in and out, ever-conscious of the uncomfortableness of his udder tucked into the joggers, and the fact that his plump breasts felt as though they would burst free of their bras at any moment. There wasn’t much he could do about his belly anymore. It was just so full, so firm by then, it frightened him a little. If anything, it drew attention away from his other oddities. Still, he was beginning to look as though he was seven months pregnant!
Finally catching his breath, Lucas pushed his way into the school gymnasium. A basketball game was just about to start. Lucas made his way over to the bleachers where he spotted three of his brothers already seated in the fifth or sixth row. Lucas hesitated, then carefully climbed up to join them.
“Hey there Lou,” said his brother Terry, moving over for him.
“Glad you made it.” Another of Lucas’s brothers, Dean, patted Lucas’s stomach as Dean smirked and Lucas frowned. His abrupt weight-gain seemed to be an ongoing joke amongst his siblings.
Lucas tried his best to ignore them and focus on the game. Two of his other brothers were playing for the home team – Fred and Jack – as was Ralph. Lucas spotted Ralph and threw a smile. Ralph’s face lit up so much, Lucas’s heart melted a little.
Throughout the game, Lucas tried to be supportive. He clapped and cheered, awkwardly getting up to his feet with the rest of the crowd during some of the more spectacular goals. Though no one could seem to match his brothers in speed and endurance, Ralph was doing great.
Admittedly it was awkward for Lucas sitting in the stands, shifting and fidgeting every now and then. He couldn’t ignore the sensation of the udder perched, actually perched on his lap, and how warm it felt, how distended the nubs had gotten, and how it was nuzzled beneath his belly. And how tight the bras felt on him, flesh bulging over the large cups, aching in pain as well as pleasure, his mind foggy and groin moist. Lucas breathed heavily, his face hot. He couldn’t think about it. He had to keep it off his mind.
“You okay Lucas?” asked one of his brothers over the cheers.
“Fine,” Lucas responded, keeping his eyes on the game.
After it was over, Lucas followed the rest of the crowd, carefully climbing down from the bleachers as other people swarmed into the court. He came across his brother Jack first – he was the star player—giving Jack a pat on the back. He felt someone tap his shoulder.
Lucas turned away from Jack and found himself grinning widely at Ralph. Before he knew it he was being pulled into a tight, long, and heavenly embrace, until his surrounding brothers began to heckle and he regained his whereabouts. The two pulled away from each other, Ralph throwing an arm casually around Lucas’s shoulder. “We have to celebrate. Who’s up for dinner?”
Lucas’s brothers reliably banded together and voted on one of those corporate chains nearby that sold ludicrously massive piles of wings at suspiciously affordable prices. Lucas went along with it, if just to enjoy Ralph’s company.
Lucas tried his best to keep his order simple, but he finished it in no time, and found himself consistently picking at Ralph’s little-touched plate.
Ralph distractedly passed it over, caught up in an enthusiastic conversation about one of Jack’s slam-dunks earlier on in the game.
“Dude, you’re built like a machine,” Ralph was saying to Jack. “What do you eat?” he added, to the laughter of Lucas’s other brothers.
Lucas rolled his eyes. Nonstop, he thought, ignoring the hypocrisy of his munching on Ralph’s wings, his face and hands coated in barbeque sauce. And as usual, he was insatiable. Even as he munched, his stomach grumbled.
Ralph stopped mid-conversation, throwing Lucas a glance. “You okay, Lucas?” he said in concern.
Lucas reddened as his brothers smirked. “F-fine,” he said. “Wasn’t that a great game?” he added awkwardly.
Ralph hailed a waiter. “More breadsticks please!”
“And that pass, bro,” Dean was saying to Jack.
“It was completely off aim. I can’t believe Ralph got it,” Jack responded.
“Don’t kid yourself, man. The pass was perfect.” Ralph pulled out his wallet. “Who’s down for some sliders?”
Everyone froze and Ralph realized too-late what he’d said.
“S-S-Sliders?” said Dean.
Jack edged away from the table before breaking into a run and flying out the restaurant door.
Dean meanwhile turned green. He covered his mouth and hurried into the bathroom.
“Wait – I – I didn’t mean—” Ralph stammered as Lucas’s remaining brothers either backed away or just ran off much the way Jack had. The lot of them were entirely squeamish at any mention of beef.
Lucas pulled Jack’s nachos towards him. “Good tactic.” He winked at Ralph as he lifted a cheese-covered chip and popped it into his mouth.
“No, I hadn’t meant to…erm…” Ralph scratched head and Lucas forced a smile.
“We’re going to have to talk about your diet,” said Lucas, ruffling Ralph’s hair.
“Lucas…geez…you’re too good for me.” Ralph bowed his head.
“Yeah,” Lucas agreed as he popped another nacho into his mouth.
-
Taking advantage of their sudden lack of supervision, Lucas and Ralph went back to Ralph’s house. Ralph’s parents were away on a business trip and there was no one there to bother them.
Conscious of Lucas’s still-grumbling stomach, Ralph pulled out a large container of chocolate chip cookies his mother had made the day before. He piled them onto a plate and brought it to the couch as he sat down beside Lucas. Sensing Lucas’s embarrassment, Ralph nibbled on one of them. Lucas hesitated, and started to pick at the plate as well.
“How are you feeling?” Ralph asked. He knew that Lucas had been frustrated lately, what with the weight gain and all.
Lucas shrugged.
“C’mon Lucas.” He reached over to pull his fingers through Lucas’s hair.
“Ralph, I can’t take all this growth. Even now, I’m – eugh, I feel like I’m being smothered.”
Ralph frowned, and reached over, his hands slipping into Lucas’s jacket. Lucas reddened, but allowed Ralph to tug down his joggers, allowing his udder to pop free of it. Ralph then slid his hands up, smoothly unfastening Lucas’s bras, allowing the round breasts to surge up into existence beneath the fabric of his shirt. They were so round, so perky and full. As Ralph stared Lucas panted.
Catching himself, Ralph averted his eyes. “Better?” he said.
Lucas nodded. “I can’t exactly go out like this.”
“Why not?”
Lucas rolled his eyes.
“God, you’re beautiful.” Ralph leaned over for a kiss, but Lucas turned away.
“Ralph, I’m…half cow. And—my cow DNA—it’s coming to the forefront.” Lucas echoed what his father had said. “I’m hungry all the time. I’m getting really fat. It’s not getting better, Ralph.”
Ralph frowned. “I don’t care if you put on a few pounds.”
“It’s more than a few pounds.”
Ralph brushed his fingers through Lucas’s hair again. “It doesn’t matter. I care about you Lucas. Hell, I love you.”
Lucas’s eyes widened. He finally allowed Ralph to kiss him, but one kiss turned to several, and soon the plate of cookies was crashing down to the floor. Lucas pulled off Ralph’s shirt, and Ralph began to work his way through Lucas’s jacket, and shirt, until everything was out in the open—Lucas’s belly, his four breasts, and strangest of them all, his cantaloupe-sized udder. Lucas reddened as Ralph marveled at it, then Ralph leaned down to press his lips against the pink flesh.
Lucas shuddered. “Ralph…it’s sensitive.” He clutched it.
“I’ll be gentle,” Ralph assured him, raising his head as they kissed again.
