Megan opened her eyes.
She was at the campus food court.
How…had she gotten…to the campus food court?
“So how was the independent study?” said Stacey Thompson as she plopped down into the seat opposite Megan at the circular table. “I heard you had to spend a week on a cattle farm. Was it disgusting?”
Megan blinked around the room. She was surprised to see Sydney, Ally, and Cait all present with her, wearing similar looks of puzzlement. And they all looked…normal. Perfectly normal, as though none of it had occurred. But that couldn’t be true. It had been hellish. She had lived it, felt it, struggled under the burden of massive weight gain, the pain of labor and birth. It had been real.
“Why are you guys acting so weird?” Stacey went on, eying the four girls. “Was it that bad? Eugh, god, I’m cancelling my trip to Tennessee. Fuck that shit.”
“Where—?” Sydney blurted out, her hands shaking. She reached down to cup her abdomen. “Where did it—what happened? I was, I was—” She looked down at herself, feeling her body, her arms, her thighs. Now Megan knew that it wasn’t just her. They had all experienced it.
The four friends had returned to their previous, normal, figures. Actually, they might have even been more slender.
“I—I need food. We need to eat,” said Cait, now fumbling around with the items on the table. Stacy released a gasp of shock as Cait grabbed hold of her lunch tray and began to desperately stuff her face. Megan watched on uneasily.
That’s when she felt it.
Thump.
A single pulsation, deep in in her belly. Megan’s hands slid back down to her navel.
“I’ll…be right back,” she said, getting up, feeling awkward now that she wasn’t balancing a massive belly before her, or the additional weight of huge tits and an equally large ass. She made her way to the bathroom too gingerly to be normal. Then she just leaned down to the sink and splashed her face with some water. She stared at her reflection, willing things to start making sense.
Thump.
This time, the pulse was accompanied tension. Some might have described it to be uncomfortable, but it was oddly comforting. Megan pulled up her tank top, and she could swear she saw a slight curve that hadn’t been there a moment before.
Thump.
Folding her arms over her waist, she turned away from the mirror. The pulses were becoming more regular.
Slowly she walked out of the bathroom and back towards the food court, feeling her stomach grow steadily firmer.
The food court was a spectacle. Though there only seemed to be a small number of students around at this time of the day, the ones who were present were spectating Cait and Ally who were stuffing their faces greedily.
While Cait had managed to bring an overloaded tray piled with food back to the table, and was currently gorging her way through it, Ally had gone right into the serving area, ignoring cooks and attendants, at times shoving them aside as she feasted directly from the serving platters.
Sydney appeared as though she had not moved an inch. She still sat at the table, staring off in a daze. She looked up as Megan approached.
“I think…” Megan stammered. “I think there’s something—”
Thump.
This one was more powerful than the others. By then, Megan knew that something had been left inside of her. She released a soft grunt as her belly shuddered with tension. She could see her skin peaking then rounded out. She gasped for breath and rubbed the gentle mound, musing that she already looked five months pregnant by then.
Megan couldn’t make sense of the scenario. Why had the aliens freed her, just to leave her impregnated? Why had she been chose and not the others?
By then Sydney had approached her, and Cait seemed to have noticed that something was up, but still couldn’t pull herself away from her food. The way Cait’s cheeks bulged reminded Megan of how truly plump and fat she had been only recently.
“God,” Megan breathed as she experienced another throb of growth. Her belly began to push out from beneath her stretching tank top. She rubbed her hands over the skin desperately, unsure of whether she was dreading the growths or encouraging them. She groaned and squeezed her eyes shut as she suffered another throb, this one even longer and more potent. She felt hands touching her, dirty hands contacting her growing abdomen. She opened her eyes to see that Cait had approached, and was now cradling Megan’s mound with a sort of reverence.
Megan looked nine months pregnant by then. “I think I need to sit down,” Megan breathed, working her way over to a chair. Most of the other patrons had lost interest in Ally’s frenzied eating binge, and were now staring at Megan’s abdomen, which was visibly heaving and throbbing.
“What the fuck?” said Stacey, looking terrified. “You—you guys are freaks.”
“Mggghhh…” Megan hummed, body twisting through the discomfort of inches of growth, her belly pushing outwards, shuddering, gradually progressing into her lap. She wondered what this species would look like. She wondered what the purpose was. At that point, only one thing was certain.
This was far from over.
