They must have dozed on the beach, because the sun was low in the sky. Maggie shifted with difficulty. She felt Tom’s hands on her shoulders, supportive as ever. She threw him a smile as he helped her shift into a position that was more comfortable—well, marginally. Lately it was tough to find any position that didn’t make her feel like she was attached to a medicine ball.
Maggie was wearing a custom bikini Tom had gotten her. It had six cups to cradle her six breasts, but she could see that she was already outgrowing it after only two weeks of use, her breast flesh bulging against the tightening material.
She could see Tom gazing thoughtfully at her abdomen. Maggie absently trailed it with her fingers. The animal pregnancies were such a continuous part of her life, it was hard to believe they were almost over.
“You know Maggie…” said Tom, pulling her attention over to him. “I love the way you look. I know that you might not necessarily feel the same way. You might not even believe me when I say this. But I love the fur, the horns, the snout. I love your extra breasts, your nipples, the hooves, even the whiskers—I’m glad you stopped cutting them. Maggie, I love every part of you. I think you look absolutely gorgeous like this.”
Maggie felt heat build in her face. “Why wouldn’t I believe you?” she said breathlessly.
Tom leaned over and kissed her. She felt him gently stroking her hair, and something was just…different about the sensation. “Have you noticed anything new?”
“Hmm?” she hummed contently, allowing Tom to claim her lips in another kiss.
Tom huffed a quiet laugh, leaning to her ear. “Maggie…you have cat ears. They must have sprouted while you were sleeping.”
“You’re kidding?” said Maggie, though it was hardly cause for alarm. She had been undergoing transformations so consistently, cat ears hardly seemed that substantial.
Reaching into the beach bag beside her, she withdrew a compact mirror and held it to her face.
It was true. She had cat ears sprouting right out of her hair. They were large and gray, and even twitched as she stared. She ghosted one carefully with her fingers, and watched it flatten slightly in protest. Maggie shivered. They were sensitive.
“God, you’re amazing,” Tom muttered wistfully as Maggie lowered her compact, and they kissed again. She submerged herself in Tom’s affections, allowing her mind to release all that laid ahead.
That evening, after showering, she and Tom went for a walk on the beach to enjoy the sunset. She was still getting used to her hooves—a fairly recent development—but she was slowly getting comfortable striding upon them. They felt strong. They helped her feel more balanced somewhat—she wasn’t sure how it worked, but she was starting to like them.
She toweled her hair as she waddled slowly alongside Tom, before moving the towel down to wipe at the water coating the vast swell of her abdomen. “The fur takes so long to dry,” she mumbled in annoyance.
Tom just smiled. He always enjoyed watching every little thing she did.
There was a twinge deep in her gut. Maggie stopped walking, and grabbed hold of Tom’s arm as she felt a powerful surge of pressure roll through her belly. She clutched it, reddening, face twisted in discomfort.
“Maggie, what is it?” said Tom, his arms helping to steady her. “Are you going into labor?”
Maggie huffed, clutching herself, her belly throbbing with heat. “Don’t—know,” she managed, just before a new, more powerful, surge of pressure overwhelmed the last one. “Nrggghhh,” she groaned, arching, straining. Tom helped ease her down to her knees. In the meantime, her skin prickled. Before her eyes, the mound shifted and tightened, pushing forward as it simultaneously shuddered to contain it all. “Growth—spurt,” Maggie gasped out, pouring sweat.
“Evidently,” said Tom, comfortingly rubbing the side of the mass.
“Mgghhhh…” Maggie grunted as her mound tightened and pushed out again, making her feel as though it was trying to tear away from her. Her flesh was just so packed and tight. She wasn’t sure how much more she could take.
There was moisture…fluid, splashing down between her thighs. Maggie gasped for breath. “Think—I t-think—”
“You’re going into labor,” said Tom conclusively.
Maggie weakly nodded. She was absolutely massive. She felt like a small planet. She spread her knees wide, trying to shift the weight of her abdomen to the sand before them.
“Maggie, will you marry me?” Tom blurted.
Maggie stared at him in shock.
“I just—I wanted to ask you before this was all over,” he said, placing his hands over the ones she was using to clutch her stomach. “I wanted you to know that I’m not just in this for the pregnancies. It wasn’t for the business, the money, the rare or magical creatures. Not because I love the way you look when you’re this—this pregnant,” Tom rambled. “I was planning to ask you tomorrow, at sunrise. It was supposed to be romantic—”
“Yes,” Maggie gasped out through another powerful contraction. “Yes, Tom, yes.”
