Nathan crumpled the wedding invitation in his hand. "That prick." Ben was engaged and only a short six months since their break up. And to invite Nathan to the wedding—he just wanted to rub it in Nathan's face!
Word-of-mouth said that it was a shotgun wedding. It made sense. Ben was a total maieusiophiliac, obsessed with pregnant people and pregnancy porn. He had even convinced Nathan to stuff his shirt on several occasions as foreplay.
Over the course of their two-year relationship, Ben had completely ruined Nathan's life. He had convinced Nathan to give up his well-paying city job to move back into their small hometown where Ben still lived, insisting that they would "figure things out." Nathan had never been able to recover professionally or financially. To top things off, Ben had completely ruined Nathan's relationship with his family. Nathan’s parents had never liked Ben, and had cut ties when Nathan had refused to leave his boyfriend. And now it seemed that Ben had hooked up with the biggest bitch from in high school. Teresa Walker had single-handedly made Nathan's adolescence a living hell. It almost made sense that Ben would choose her to be his spouse.
It was like a cruel joke.
I’ll make them pay, Nathan thought. He couldn’t let Ben get away with this.
Nathan knew that Ben's infatuation with the pregnancy was likely a large part of Teresa’s appeal to him. But if Nathan showed up to the wedding more pregnant than the bride—well, it would be perfect. Just the thought of their faces made Nathan's lips twist into a grin.
But how exactly was Nathan going to implement this plan? A fake belly would never work. Ben would see right through it. Catching up to Teresa’s stage of pregnancy was also biologically impossible. Nathan assumed that she had been pregnant for at least several weeks by that moment.
The wedding was in five months. Nathan didn't have a lot of time, but he could do this. He had to make it work.

Male pregnancy was still pretty rare being that most men would never would never willfully volunteer to go through the experience.
Which seemed to explain why the male fertility drugs were so cheap and easy to get his hands on. Nathan took triple the dosage. Finding a willing “donor” at his favorite nightclub took hardly any effort at all.
Nathan didn't do this just once but several times over the course of a week, desperate to not only get pregnant, but to get pregnant with multiples. It was the only way this would work.
The days he waited before he could take a pregnancy test were almost unbearable, but he suspected he was already experiencing some symptoms. Tenderness of his chest, a general feeling of malaise in the mornings. It could have just been his mind playing tricks with him, but the test a few days later confirmed it. Fuck yes.
Nathan didn't know what or how many he was carrying (if he was lucky enough to have gotten knocked up with multiples), and he would have to wait a few months to find out. In the meantime, he stuffed his face. He wanted to pack on as many pounds as possible before the wedding. He did food binges daily, and to his immense delight, all the extra weight seemed to be going straight to his gut.
At three months pregnant, Nathan already looked six, though he knew he could do better. He increased his food intake, focusing on fats, starches, and dairy. He found himself eating constantly, a snack on hand at every moment of every day. His body was rapidly changing, his gut swelling forward as small breasts developed on his chest. As he examined himself in the mirror, he deemed that he looked like a full-fledged mother-to-be. His big baby-mound was stretching his shirt to capacity and still bulging out at the bottom. The doctor had said he was carrying quads. He had hoped for twins but this was fucking perfect.
The night before the wedding, Nathan was five months pregnant and looked overdue. He ate more food than he had ever consumed at one time that night, even sucking down a couple of sticks of butter. He wanted his baby-bump to be plump and juicy when the bride and groom-to-be laid eyes on it. Nathan even seemed to have outgrown the paternity suit he had purchased recently for the event, the button-down stretched tightly over his mass and flesh bulging out between the buttons which were close to tearing right off. But it just added to his image of extreme fertility. Nathan finished his evening food binge and fell asleep flushed, sweaty, and content.

When Nathan waddled into the garden, no one seemed to register him at first. But when several eyes slowly recognized him there were gasps and whispers. Nathan was clutching his huge belly, panting and smiling. He swore, it was even bigger than it has been the night before. He had entered in the middle of the ceremony, distracting several people from the reading of the vows.
At present, Ben was taking a small piece of paper out of his pocket, unfolding it and smiling at his bride. He motioned to their audience as he spoke, “Teresa, I am here with our family, friends, and God as my witness to promise you...” Ben trailed off. He had thrown a glance over the crowd and frozen at the sight of Nathan who was standing in the aisle. Now Ben was just staring, Teresa forgotten and his jaw hanging open. Teresa had a cute little bump of her own but nothing noteworthy.
Teresa looked confused then concerned as she began to pat Ben's arm. She followed his gaze then gasped and reddened. Her face contorted in fury.
Suffice to say, the couple did not go through with the wedding. Nathan went home and contently ignored several calls from Ben. He eased back on his couch and rubbed his huge, heaving baby-mound, as, for the first time, he dared to wonder just what was next.
