Kyle's latest payment was double what he usually received.
He was decidedly pleased. His covert employers must have been satisfied with his outcomes. After all, Justin had truly "blossomed." His growth was obvious and quite pronounced.
Accompanying Kyle's bonus was a small typewritten note that read, good work.
God, this was exciting. Kyle was getting paid generously and all he had to do was blow Justin up like a balloon.
Ironically, in the days that followed, things abruptly slowed down. Or perhaps the slowdown was imagined. Kyle simply felt as though Justin was now growing at a painfully slow pace. If at all.
Justin was getting accustomed to the mound. Adapting to it in a resigned, complacent way. He bought bigger shirts and always donned a jacket or sweater. The swollen protrusion of his belly from his otherwise slim form just became a normal part of his life.
Kyle continued his documentation, his payments went back to normal, and everything was fine...albeit rather boring and tame. Weeks went by, and Justin just became that guy with the beer gut that people couldn't be bothered to tease anymore. Kyle wondered if Justin had developed a tolerance to the drug.
Kyle was flipping channels in the living room one evening when he came across a commercial that gave him pause.
"Lactalyz," a female voice chimed gently. The pictured showed a woman in a bath robe sipping tea. "An herbal remedy for new mothers who need a little help when it comes to nursing."
The commercial ended but Kyle didn't notice the ones that followed.
What if he...no...that would be interfering. But the outcome—it might help. Things might develop.
His employer might be pleased.
After another moment's hesitation, Kyle got on his laptop and went to the Lactalyz company website. He ordered a canister of the drug then contemplated whether or not this was a good idea all over again.
The herb took only two days to arrive. Kyle was expected it to come as tea bags, but it arrived in the form of a powdery white substance.
Without really thinking about it, Kyle dumped a generous amount into Justin's protein mix.
Well, it was more of a diet shake mix. Justin had started drinking them religiously, twice a day, in hopes of eradicating the belly. It decidedly wasn't having much of an effect.
Kyle had just managed to shove away the remainder in the back corner of his cupboard, when Justin came out of his room, yawning, still recovering from a video game all-nighter. Kyle couldn’t help staring at the way Justin's t-shirt stretched over his prominent belly button-nipple—thing.
"Hey man," said Justin, his belly bobbing slightly as he went straight to the protein canister on the counter, not even questioning why it was out of the cupboard. Your typical careless college student. Justin took out the scooper and proceeded to make himself a protein shake with some dubious whole milk found in the back of the fridge.
"Hey," said Kyle belatedly. He watched Justin chug the shake.
Kyle knew he was overstepping. This certainly wasn't part of the deal. His employers might get upset with him; even fire him for exposing Justin to something they hadn't specifically ordered him to.
But then, they might be pleased. They might give him another bonus, even a raise.
The herb could also have no effect whatsoever. As Kyle saw things, the potential benefits outweighed the risks.
-
Justin groaned.
His face was flushed. His whole body felt unnaturally warm. Especially his...midsection.
It was uncomfortable and felt weirdly bloated, like his belly had turned into an overfilled balloon, tender and bobbing while accommodating the heat and pressure.
"Oohhh..." Justin moaned, pausing to cradle the mound, and stabilize it a bit. Luckily the apartment was empty at the moment, Kyle in a class. Justin took several long breaths of air, closing his eyes as he shifted and arched, then grimaced at the weirdly arousing sensation of his belly button dragging across his shirt. He had already gotten off twice that morning.
Justin opened his eyes and glanced around, just to be sure the apartment was empty. He lightly shook his head and lifted his shirt, allowing it to sit bunched atop his plump belly. He frowned down at the mass, just the—oddness of it. The way it protruded out from his otherwise slim form. And his bellybutton, which had gotten dark and pink, felt incredibly tender, and had somehow swollen to the size of a golf ball. Honestly, it didn't even look like a belly button anymore. It looked like something else entirely. Justin gulped and continued to regard himself.
He had been so optimistic. His weight had stabilized for a few weeks there. But then out of nowhere it had started to surge again. He was getting fuller, rounder, but also heavier and tighter, which was just unusual. His belly button had a puffy pink plate of flesh around it, and if he wasn't certain it sounded insane, he would admit that his abdomen had somehow come to resemble a...well—a giant breast. But that was just ridiculous. Wasn't it? Justin was truly at a loss of what to think of all this.
The sensitivity had only intensified. Justin hesitated, then tentatively reached down, carefully stroking the protruding pink nub. His whole body stiffened and trembled, his breath catching. He glided his fingers over it again, an unintentional moan coming up his throat. He leaned on the wall for support and took a moment to catch his breath.
He really should have consulted a physician, but things were just...embarrassing, by then.
And god his belly button ached to be touched. Justin found himself fondling it again, humming and arching as the nub stung, and...reacted. It actually began to harden. No way was that normal. "Oh god," he breathed, rubbing his fingers around the distended protrusion. "‘the fuck is wrong with me?" he groaned as he shoved his free hand into his pants.
-
Kyle got another bonus.
Things were decidedly going well.
Justin had reacted better than expected to the herb. Now not only was he plump, but bloated as well.
It was surreal to think that the other youth's belly was likely full of milk. Milk Justin's own body had made and was now stretching him to clear discomfort.
Kyle snapped out of his reverie as Justin's bedroom door opened.
Justin cupped his belly as he waddled out, no longer caring that another might see the awkward gesture of Justin trying to stabilize his plump, bobbing mound.
His belly-nipple was even more distended than it had been before. It was bulging and swollen, god, everything was swollen. Even his chest seemed a little softer, a bit fuller-looking.
Justin's cheeks were pink from the exertion or heat.
Kyle glued his eyes to the TV and pretended to be absorbed in the movie playing even though he was hyper-conscious of Justin, who was lumbering over in Kyle's periphery.
The couch jolted as Justin plopped down on the opposite end with a grunt.
Kyle pretended only then to notice him. "Hey man."
"What're you watching?" said Justin, reaching into a paper bag he had set on the coffee table to pull out a fistful of fries.
"Revengers," Kyle nodded to the spandex-clad costumed characters on screen. "Heard this one was good."
"Nice," said Justin. The two young men quieted as the movie proceeded, silent except for the noise of Justin chomping on his two phili-cheesesteaks. Then his slurping as he voraciously gulped down his extra-large chocolate shake.
That’s when it happened. Justin was taking a particularly long draw from his straw, when he released another grunt, and a damp plot began to materialize on his stretched T-shirt. He pushed some fries into his mouth, hardly seeming to notice. "So much for the diet," he mumbled as he fidgeted, scrunching his face up. His hand crept up to his gut. He winced and looked down. "Shit. Must have spilled something."
Kyle's heart was pounding. He fought not to snap his head towards the growing stain on Justin's shirt, and gawk. Because if he wasn't mistaken, Justin was actually leaking.
Justin heaved himself off the couch with some effort before heading towards the bathroom. "'the hell is this?" Kyle heard him muttering as the door snapped shut. The was the shuffling of cloth followed by the sound of skin sliding over skin.
Then complete silence.
Kyle could feel his heart throbbing in his throat.
When the bathroom door creaked open again, there was a long pause preceding Justin's heavy footfalls. He was pale when he reappeared in the living room.
Kyle gave him a thoughtful once-over, making sure not to linger on the way Justin's belly-nipple looked even more prominent as it bulged against the damp spot on Justin's shirt, the moisture steadily seeping down, trailing along the underside of Justin's belly.
"Man, you okay?" Kyle managed as nonchalantly as he could. "Why do you look so freaked out?" It was a struggle but Kyle kept his gaze on Justin's face and feigned to be as oblivious as ever.
"I...er..." Justin was breathing heavily. He wiped his hand down his face. "Nothing," he concluded, as he made his way to his bedroom, the remainders of his takeout left forgotten.
As the door slammed shut behind Justin, Kyle hesitated, then snagged a fry.
-
He stared at his mound, shirt bunched atop it so it was left to protrude freely, all full and flushed. And warm.
Justin couldn't deny that he actually looked pregnant.
And pretty far along. The way his aunt had looked a couple months before she gave birth.
On top of that, he had to deal with the weird swollen pink growth that had once been his belly button, and the fact that it was now dripping a warm white fluid that could only be... It was foolish to keep denying it. Some way, somehow, his formerly lean abdomen had been transformed into a giant breast.
It was ridiculous. Ludicrous. Justin had to be asleep or high.
And yet he was dripping, right there, at present, making a small puddle on his bedroom floor. This was insane. "'the fuck," he whispered, shaking his head.
He was almost scared to move. The nub leaked regardless.
-
Justin shuffled around the apartment with awkwardness.
He skipped a bunch of his classes that week and didn't seem to know what to do with himself.
He was still clearly shaken, still swollen and engorged. He bundled himself up in layers of shirts and sweaters, but there was still that perpetual damp spot where milk seeped through. Kyle doggedly pretended not to notice.
Sometimes it was a necessity. It was all he could do not to lose control. Just the sight of Justin's fat mound was too much for him. Justin's plump belly was full of milk, so full the milk was seeping out of him. God, it was so weird and so hot.
Kyle would see Justin on the phone at night, mound perched against his thighs as he tried to appease his family. "I'm sorry, I just can't make it this time. I have two papers due that Monday." He breathed heavily, absently rubbing his chest with the heel of his hand.
Justin was avoiding them. Kyle couldn't blame him. His form was unquestionably odd. The leaking appeared to be continuous.
Justin hung up his phone with a sigh. He looked up to see Kyle innocently withdrawing a beer from the fridge. They caught eyes. Kyle belatedly averted his.
"God, I'm suffocated." Justin tugged at his top layer sweater, which was looking so snug, it probably wasn't serving its intended purpose. Kyle could make out the sharp protrusion of Justin's navel just fine.
"Hey, is everything alright with you?" asked Kyle as stupidly as he could.
Justin paused, his cheeks flushing deeper. "I uh...gained weight. You probably don't notice that much since we live together, but if my parents see me, they're just gonna freak out." He absently held the side of his belly, frowning off, then returning his attention to Kyle.
Kyle swallowed, then said, "Seriously? Guess it's time to cut the carbs." He forced a laugh.
"Yeah..." said Justin, even though both knew that his efforts to diet hadn't worked in the least. "It’s not as easy as it sounds."
Then Justin spontaneously leaked. More accurately, he poured into his shirt until the hem started to drip and Justin released a curse.
In that moment, Kyle lost every fraction of his carefully honed control. He dropped to his knees before the swollen mound. He shoved the fabric roughly away, then felt himself leaning down to press his lips against the stiff, pink nub.
Justin gasped.
