-
A week later, Sarah was set up in her apartment, and had just finished unpacking her last box. She held onto the kitchen table, feeling rather breathless, and yet content. She could finally be comfortable in her environment, without her overprotective parents hoovering over her and trying to figure out what was going on.
Over the past few days, Sarah had tried to slow down her consumption of food, but the tail seemed to have a mind of its own. If Sarah didnt allow the tail to eat, it became restless, often writhing about, or producing a clear slimy substance from its dimple. Sarah, in consequence, would feel anxious, and during these periods, she found that she could think of little else but food.
After a while, the hunger pains would start to strike, which would leave Sarah clutching her belly and groaning. They would grow incrementally worse minute by minute, leaving Sarah with no choice but to consume.
Because of these issues, Sarah attempted a new approach. She tried to maintain a sort of feeding schedule. She allowed the tail snacks every hour or two.
But this didnt seem to be working either. The snacks werent enough for the tail. It was perpetually discontent, and seemed to want more food every day.
Sarah tried to get some exercise, even if just the minimum amount she gained through pacing awkwardly in her apartment, holding the side of her belly as she mulled things over. She really did look pregnant. She half-feared that she would start waddling.
Her nipples had been getting even more sensitive lately, and Sarah noticed that she her B-cups were steadily getting larger. Of course, this growth paled in comparison to the mound of her belly.
None of her tops could encompass her abdomen anymore, her belly always protruding from the underside of her shirts. It felt so bizarre on her otherwise slim frame.
Sarah went online, and was embarrassed to find herself ordering some maternity clothes. She stuck with looser, discreet tops to obscure her figure as much as possible. She was flushed and miserable by the time she submitted the order. Her weight problems were only getting worse.
For a while, Sarah endured the constant struggle between the tail, her displeasure, the pains, the cravings, and her desperation for that tight feeling of fullnessit was all so exhausting. A part of her just wanted to give in. And then she did one day. Sarah simply let go of the frustration and anxiety. Instead, she allowed the tail to indulge.
Sarah, and the tail, emptied the contents of her fridge. She fed the tail processed meats and cool cheeses, loafs of bread, pastries, even allowing it to dive into a container or goey mayo and suck to its contentment.
Sarahs face reddened with every morsel, her belly tightening in the most euphoric of ways. The tail sucked down grapes, plums, a container of chocolate ice cream, and a large bag of microwaved chicken nuggets.
She was almost done. Just one more one more thing
Sarah gently placed a cherry against the tails dimple, and couldnt help smiling in pleasure as the tail sucked it down. She released a yelp as her belly button popped out again. It had sunk back in some days before. Sarah absently ran her finger over it. When her navel protruded outward, it was usually an indicator that her belly was at capacity, and this pleased Sarah for some reason.
She leaned back in the chair and savored the combined sensations of discomfort and contentment as her belly rose and fell with her heavy breaths. It was protruding entirely from her tanktop, perched on her lap. Her cheeks flushed, Sarah rubbed the sweaty round ball as it wobbled gently with her movement. Goodness, she looked due with twins by then.
Sarah tried to settle herself down for a short nap, but her belly grumbled, causing her eyes to widen, as the tail waved behind her. She stared blankly at her mound, completely stunned. It was insatiable. She was a lost cause.
In the following days, Sarah reacted the best she couldshe tried to surround herself with small, healthy things. She kept a lot of grapes, berries, tangerines, olives, and plums in the housethings that wouldnt make her gain too much weight, and yet would help keep the tails appetite at bay.
The tail was now eating almost constantly. Sarahs belly was usually tight and compacted during the day. It was somewhat softer in the mornings, after a night of sleep.
Sarah found that the better she kept the tail fed, the more control she seemed to have over its behavior. She became less prone to awkward situations on the rare occasions that she did go out. She had long-since learned that the tail was going to find a way to feed, whether she liked it or not. It was best to control what it did consume before she lost the privilege altogether.
The weather was cooling rapidly now, and Sarahs heat had gone out. None of her efforts to call Customer Service seemed to yield any contact with a real human being, and Sarah was left with no choice but to venture out of her apartment and to the local office, even bloated as she was.
Unfortunately for Sarah, her maternity attire still had not arrived. She was left trying to squeeze into her largest sweater, which didnt offer much coverage at all. The stretched cotton was quick to slide up, inches above her protruding belly button. She was uncomfortably full, as she often was these days, her round belly bobbing gently as she navigated her large mound forward. She reached her apartment door, and again tugged down on the hem of her shirt self-consciously. She was truly a sight to seea thin young girl, with a massively protruding belly.
As if Sarahs embarrassment over her belly wasnt enough, her nipples were considerably swollen and sticking out in her top. They were tender, and Sarah tried her best not to bother them, so that hopefully the irritation and swelling wouldnt get worse.
Heaving a defeated sigh, Sarah reached down and opened the door to her apartment.
She blanched when she came face-to-face with her parents in the hallway.
Thank goodness the tail was wrapped around her waist, presently hidden beneath the waistband of her leggings. And thank goodness she had fed it quite well before her planned venture. It would be sated, at least for the next several minutes.
Sarahs mother and father looked as though they had just arrived and were prepared to knock at the door. Her mother was clutching a large glass pan, within which was what looked to be a casserole. Sarahs parents stared at her, appearing as stunned as she was. Unsurprisingly, their gazes locked on her belly.
Mom. D-Dad, Sarah managed, as she again tugged on the hem of her shirt. G-glad you stopped by, she said, with an unconvincing smile. As they had already seen her, Sarah certainly couldnt send her parents on their way. She found that she was left with no choice but to step aside, and allow them in.
Turning away, Sarah tried to keep her breathing steady. As she led her parents towards the kitchen, she became self-conscious of her every movement. She watched the way her chest heaved, and her belly gently bobbed. She was conscious of her heavy hips, and her sore back, and the general way that she moved nowa tendency towards rocking. Sarah realized, quite belatedly, that she was developing a waddle.
Sit down, said Sarah breathlessly, once the three of them were standing in the kitchen. Sarah pulled out a chair and eased herself down at the table. Her parents both hesitated, and followed.
Her mother lowered the casserole with trembling hands. Sarah, i-its good to see you.
There was a long bout of silence, in which no one addressed the elephant in the roomSarahs swollen belly. Sarahs parents had previously convinced themselves that Sarah had been stuffing something in her shirt. But now that her belly was bare and blatant, they simply didnt know what to think, or say.
You b-brought casserole, Sarah managed, sweating.
Her mother snapped out of her reverie. Oh, yes. I know its your favorite, she said awkwardly. With that, her mother got to her feet, and went about setting the table and serving each of their dishes with copious amounts of casserole.
The meal was intensely silent.
Sarah nibbled at her food, though it had become entirely uncomfortable for her to eat by mouth by then. In fact, it was sickening. Sarah tried her best to keep what little she put into her mouth down, and mostly just shuffled food around in her plate.
And yet her appetite was only increasing. The aroma was maddening. She struggled to contain the tail, because it relentlessly wanted to dive into the food and suck it all down, even as tight and full as Sarah was still feeling from her large meal a half-hour earlier.
Its delicious, Sarah forced out, flushed and sweating. God it it really is. She cupped her belly beneath the table. It was positively throbbing. With tightness and need.
Sarah what whats going on? her father finally spoke.
Its kind of complicated, Sarah admitted, panting. But I promiseIll tell you soon. But right now mom dad I needI really need you to go.
Her parents looked horror-struck.
I promise Im fine, Sarah elaborated. Please just go.
Sarahs parents stared at her a moment longer, looks of hurt and bafflement evident on their faces. Finally, they stood.
Fine, said her father.
Her mother walked over and kissed Sarahs cheek. I really hope youre okay, Sarah. Tears in her eyes, she joined her husband, and both walked off.
Sarah released a long sigh at the sound of the door closing behind them.

It's interesting that you see it as the best installment. When re-reading it, I thought it was uneventful. It's funny how perspectives can differ in reading :)

Best installment yet in this series, lovely to see her totally submit to the tail. The detail about her not wanting to eat with her mouth is interesting. Maybe if she ate with her tail and her mouth at the same time she could keep up with her appetite?
