Tom awoke that night to the sensation of warm wetness on the sheets. He lifted his hand from the damp spot beside Maggies form and slowly registered what was going on. Maggie, I think your water broke, he said, suddenly awake.
What? said Maggie groggily.
Toms hand continued to idly examine the wetness. The fluid had a slimy, graininess to it. As Tom sat up and squinted at his hand through the dim street lamps outside the window, he looked at the substance and was reminded of caviar? Oh, said Tom blankly. Maggie, I think youre giving birth.
Maggie still sounded half-asleep. What are you talking abo She reached back to pat her ass, and her body stiffened. Fuck, she hissed.
Tom turned on the lamp on the night table.
Maggie was clutching her groin with her hand, as though to hold in the small, soft beads seeping out of her. Her belly shuddered, causing her to wince. Eugh, she said in abject disgust.
We should get you into the tub, said Tom blankly.
N-no, Maggie protested. The transfer would be way too complicated. We have to get to the shop. We have tanks, I just need to She quietly groaned as her huge belly gave another quiver. Tom could tell that she was struggling to hold the burden inside her. Can you pass me the dildo? Maggie said awkwardly. The big one.
Numbly, Tom reached into the drawer in the night stand, rummaging through the variety of sex toys, until he withdrew a dildo. The big one. He handed it to Maggie, who fumbled awkwardly with her pajama pants. Tom helped her pull it down.
Please, Maggie pleaded, handing the dildo back to Tom.
Heat rolled down to Toms loins. Are you sure?
Tomnnghhjust get it inside me!
Tom parted Maggies thighs, simultaneously pushing her back against the mattress beneath the massive orb of her belly. He pressed the tip of the dildo to Maggies plump, seeping hole. You have to loosen up, he urged.
Maggie hesitated, and obeyed. Instantly, Tom could see more eggs seeping out from her opening. There were different colors and sizes, some as tiny as pin pricks, and others large as marbles. Tom honestly wasnt even sure if they were all fish eggs. It was simultaneously astonishing, unnerving, and a little exciting. Tom pushed the dildo forward, slowly impaling Maggie with the toy.
Maggie grunted, her face reddening as she was fully sheathed. Mmghh She laid her twitching hand on her navel, as though the pressure could be felt all the way over there. She looked overdue with triplets by then, her belly flushed and throbbing fitfully, her button sticking out to the size of a gold ball. F-fish eggs? said Maggie, grimacing.Eugh, digusting.
Lets go, said Tom.
He threw a light robe around Maggies shoulders. It was awkward for Maggie to get up and try to walk, and even moreso for her to recline in the passengers seat of Toms car, the dildo still protruding out of her body. Toms mind was reeling as he tried to process the weirdness of this egg situation.
Maggie was staggering by the time they got to the shop, and Tom awkwardly helped her to support her low, bobbing abdomen. It suddenly made sense how soft and unwieldly it was. It was the shape of a tightly packed water balloon attached to Maggies gut, tight to bursting.
Maggie was wincing, grimacing, and grunting out curses under her breath as she struggled and strained, reddening worse with every step she progressed. In a strained voice she directed Tom to the displays of fish tanks, the largest one about the size of two refrigerators laying horizontal. It was empty, but clean. Get the hose, Maggie pleaded, restraining sobs by then, her jaw clenched and brows furrowed.
Tom hurried off, uncoiling a hose behind some of the tanks that was attached to the wall. He pushed the nozzle into the tank, then returned to the wall, to turn the tap.
Maggie was leaning heavily on the tank. Tom hurried to get her a foot ladder. What would you do without me? Tom thought aloud.
Maggie merely shook her head. She gingerly climbed onto the ladder with Toms aid, and awkwardly managed to step into the rising water, the bottom of her pajama pants looking somewhat full, by then.
Maggie slowly lowered herself, releasing a shuddering groan, the water up to her hips by that point. She shoved down her pajama pants and panties from her plump backside, allowing them to catch at her knees. She then withdrew the dildo with a small cry. She arched and groaned, her hands rubbing her stomach, drawing her strained tank top over the swollen mound.
Tom marveled at the sight of her, the way her slim legs gave way to a round bottom, the way her tank top was pasted by sweat to her four heaving breasts, nipples hard and large and protruding against the fabric. Maggie was a bizarre image of fertility, and Tom still couldnt figure out why it made his cock stir.
How is it going? Tom asked. The water level was climbing over Maggies navel.
Maggie just moaned. Tom looked through the glass. He could see the eggs pushing steadily out of Maggies opening. He wondered if it was painful. He watched Maggies belly gently contract.
He could tell that Maggie was disturbed by the whole thing. One of her arms came up to cover her eyes.
Is it really any worse than the puppies?
Shut up, Maggie hissed.
So Tom went back to examining the eggs Maggie was producing, reflecting on the absurdity of it all. Maggies face twisted, and she seemed to struggle somewhat, before her thighs twitched, and something dark began to crown. Mgghhhh She winced, tensed, and twisted her shoulders, spreading her thighs. A whimper escaped her lips as something wide and oval began to push out of her with a few awkward angles. As it shoved into the water, Tom slowly registered it to be a shark egg.
Theyre not all pets, said Tom, astonished.
What? Maggie groaned.
Were going to have to figure out Tom trailed off, still stunned. He was not sure how he had never anticipated this sort of issue. With all the animals being in egg form, he realized he was oblivious of what breeds, what kind of aquatic creatures. There was simply a lot of them, probably millions of fish, shark, and other eggs. Not all could necessarily qualify as pets, and ownership of some could even put them in legal trouble.
I have to make some phone calls, said Tom. He hesitated, continuing to stare at Maggies progressively shrinking belly. It was a fascinating sight, but his concern over their problems seemed to overrule his predilections towards voyeurism. Do you mind if I?
Go, Maggie grunted, again struggling with a larger mass than the others. She shuddered, palming at her navel.
Tom walked to the front of the shop where there were no water tanks to obscure his cellphone signal. He phoned Simon Wilkins, a friend of his from college, and a skilled marine biologist. I know its late, Tom said, as soon as Simon picked up. But Im in desperate need of help. Can you meet with me? Theres a ridiculous amount of money on the line, and I thought youd be interested.

Tom sat in the break room, one ankle crossed over the opposite knee. At present, Maggie was back in her office, all finished with the birth. It had taken a good hour, and last Tom had checked, Maggie was slumped in her chair against her desk, head cushioned by her arms. She was deflated, exhausted, and probably unconscious by then. It was sort of funny, at least in hindsight, now that everything had turned out alright.
Simon sat at the table across from Tom. He adjusted the rectangular glasses that had drooped down the bridge of his nose.
The first step would be to identify the species, separate them accordingly, and discern the necessary aquatic environments for each. You know, fresh water or salt water, high or low light exposure, pressure levels, temperature and oxygen, and so on. There is a risk of a substantial percentage of loss if we dont start quickly. It may require a team, to be honest.
I insist on you and no one else, Tom responded, absently brushing the crisp sleeve of his Fioravanti suit. I am fully confident in your abilities, Simon.
Simon raised a brow but continued. Just from first glance, its clear that you have a stunning variety of aquatic creatures. Pets, wild animals, rare collector items, and even some that only have culinary uses. Im not even sure how you were able to successfully transfer some of them so far from their native habitats without them dying. Just by looking at some of the larger eggs, I can see that you have pikefish, squid, sea turtle, and even shark eggs. Im not sure I want to ask how you acquired those.
Tom hummed in acknowledgement. It seemed that Maggie had birthed a whole fucking aquarium.
Actually Tom where did you get these eggs?
Tom blinked out of his reverie. Im afraid I cant say.
Simon frowned. If Im to be involved, I need to know.
Its not illegal. Can you just trust me?
Simon gave him a dubious look.
Theres money involved, Tom reiterated. A lot of it.
Simon swallowed. Just by glancing at the load, Im pretty sure you have some Neptune Groupers in there. They go for $6,000 a piece.
Tom smirked. Thats not all. And I hear you have partnerships with some of the biggest aquariums on the coast.
Simon weakly nodded. Indeed I do, he said faintly.
The breakroom dorm opened, and Tom was surprised to see Maggie enter the room, sweaty, disheveled, and wan. She should have been home resting, but Tom was no longer surprised by how stubborn the woman could be. It seemed she had put on a spare uniform, but she was still rather chubby, the shirt material stretching tightly over her belly. If she had been with child, she would have looked five, or even six months along. Shed also donned a blazer, and was hunching slightly, probably to hide her chest. Maggie absently raised her hand to hold her stomach, but stopped herself at the last minute. Instead, she extended the limb to Simon.
Maggie Price, Maggie said tiredly.
Simon shook her hand. Simon Wilkins. This is a great store you have here. My niece managed to snag one of your Japanese Bobtails while they were still available. I had no idea Tom was your business partner.
Right, said Maggie shortly. She pulled out a chair and plopped down. Hes more of an investor.
Tom just smiled.
So is everything sorted out? said Maggie, looking impatient.
It was cute how professional she was trying to act after the huge pregnancy, the dildo, and the birthingnone of which seemed to allow for much dignity. Tom suddenly wanted to lick her, to lick every part till Maggie was blushing the way she had when shed been pushing the fish eggs out between her soft, quavering thighs.
Of course, there would be none of that. It was only a few hours till sunrise, and the shop would be opening soon. Why dont I take you home, Tom offered. You look exhausted. I can call Amelia in to open
No, Maggie cut him off. She was still looking at Simon. Mr. Wilkins, as you can see, were in a bit of a predicament. Are you going to help us or not? she asked bluntly.
Simon chewed his lip for a moment. He looked pained as he responded, Im sorry, but I cant get involved in this.
Were desperate. Apparently Maggie wasnt beyond begging. Of course, she was fatigued and hormonal, and that could have played a role. I have no experience in your field. I dont know how to handle these things. If you dont help us, theyll probably die.
Simon cleared his throat. Its clear that they were illegally obtained. Im sorry. He stood to leave.
Wait, said Maggie.
Simon frowned, but lowered his briefcase back onto the table.
Maggie deeply inhaled. Well come clean.
Tom leaned back, fascinated by the scene. It was a lot of excitement for one day and he felt a little dazed.
Do you Maggie trailed off, her cheeks going pink. Do you believe in magic?
Simon stared at her. What?
I was cursed, Maggie forced out. Ive been forced to acquire animals, whether I like it or not. This isnt the first time its happened. You said your niece got a rare cat? Well, those were acquired in a similar way.
Im not sure what youre talking about, said Simon, shooting Tom a glance. This whole thing sounds ridiculous.
I gave birth to them, blurted Maggie.
You what?
I gave birth to them. Ive beenbirthing animals for the past few months.
Youre out of your mind, said Simon, looking alarmed.
Ill prove it.
Maggie said Tom.
If we dont get him on board, itll be a huge loss. All that effort, would be wasted, responded Maggie, seeming to gather her courage.
Tom licked his lips. He had never thought Maggie would do this. Certainly not willingly. He gave a slight nod.
Maggie grabbed the hem of her shirt, and slowly drew it up over her belly, which was still round, and possibly somewhat firmer. But Maggie didnt stop there. She lifted the shirt over her chest.
Simons jaw dropped.
