Seated on the bed, his large belly perched on his lap, Ryan took Jacks hand and guided it to the side of his stomach.
Jack swallowed. Kicking?
Ryan nodded, offering a brittle smile.
It was a lot to take it. I have time off, said Jack, maintaining a neutral demeanor. I can stay for a few weeks. To help. He knew it wasnt much.
Ryan gazed down at his abdomen. Sorry I got you into this mess. He took a sharp hiss and cupped his belly button, which had swollen up, as it tended to when Jack was close by.
Our mess, Jack corrected him.
Ryan ran his hand through his hair, and grumbled, It doesnt look like my fertility is ending anytime soon.
Shhh Jack placed his hand on Ryans shoulder and pulled him gently into a kiss.
Kissing was new, but neither had addressed it. It had just started one day, when they were fucking. Jack slid his hands down to Ryans waist, and began to slip his fingers into the waistband of his sweatpants.
Ryan caught his hands. Can we wait a few days?
Jack was perplexed. He peered at the other man whose sweaty was bloated and flushed. Even then, Ryan was panting from the burden of his condition. Why?
Chris was so small, said Ryan. It was true. And Im worried about this one. He cupped the side of his abdomen, where the kicking motions had been. Human babies develop slower, right? We should ere on the safe side. I just dont want it to be premature.
It made sense. If you think you can handle it... Jack nodded to Ryans tennis ball-sized navel, which was visibly throbbing and dampening Ryans shirt with its goey secretion by then.
Yeah, Ryan breathed, with clear uncertainty.
He dropped his head to Jacks shoulder, and Jack wrapped his arm behind him, absently, almost instinctually. He wondered what they would do if this kept happening. They could potentially end up with dozens of babies if Ryans fertility didnt end soon.
Jack stayed over Ryans place, and the following morning, he went to visit his parents who still lived in the small town. He felt guilty not telling his parents about Chris, but Jack wasnt certain how he could possibly explain the infant, let alone the new baby on the way. The unsubstantial age difference wouldnt even add up to two different pregnancies. For the time being, Jack would be forced to deny his children, at least until he figured out how to discuss the existence of aliens, Ryans pregnancies, and his own part in the unusual, cycling process.
In lieu of using up his paid time off, Jack was also able to get some work done in the local office. He was scribbling his way through a never ending pile of paperwork when he got a call from Ryan. It had already been a week since Jack had seen him, looking flushed, round, and ready to pop.
I need you, was all Ryan said, his voice strained.
Im on my way, said Jack, already standing. He pocketed his cellphone and grabbed his briefcase, his colleagues barely paying attention to him as he hurried out of the office. Jack had chosen this job specifically for its flexibility in location and scheduling. It was certainly paying off when it came to...to his family.
Jack got into his car and drove towards Ryans house, which was about a half hour ride from his office. The last thing he remembered was turning onto the main road, before his car jolted, and then there was blackness.
-
When Jack came to, he was weak and groggy. There was a bright light above him. And a figure in white, hovering.
He tensed, and struggled, but two calming hands rested on his shoulders. Jack Jack, can you hear me? You were just brought out of sedation.
The blurs slowly adjusted and oriented, until Jack could make out an older man in a white lab coat. A doctor. He blinked several times, his eyes darting about. It looked as though he was in a medical facility. A hospital.
Oh Jack! someone shrilled on his opposite side. Jack saw his tear-faced mother, and his father beside her, looking morose.
You were in a car accident, said the doctor. We had to put you into a medically-induced coma to help your body to recover.
How how long? Jack croaked, his throat raw and burning.
Jack youve been out for two weeks.
At this news, Jack tried to get up again, struggling as the elderly doctor tried to hold him down.
Jack, you need to stay in bed. You have several broken ribs, stitches, and a head injury.
Its okay, Im fine, Jack insisted, finally standing, and nearly collapsing in the same movement. It was his father who held him up this time. Jack resisted the mans efforts to push him back into the bed. I justhave to go. I have to be somewhere else right now.
Jack! his mother squealed.
You know I wouldnt be doing this ifif it wasnt serious, Jack coughed out, giving his parents an imploring look. Pleasejust let me out of here. My friend needs me. Ill explain later. He suppressed another cough, and could taste blood in his mouth, but he knew better than to open it again.
The doctor was appalled. I would highly advise against discharge, its far too
You promise to take it easy? his mother cut him off. She looked thin and frail, and Jack felt guilty for worrying her.
Yes, he promised.
Call us as soon as you get yourself situated, said his father.
Jack nodded, and limped off.
By the time he made it to the corridor, he was staggering. He grabbed a crutch he saw leaning on the wall, and made his way out of the hospital. He wondered how Ryan was doing. It had beenChristthree weeks since Jack had last seen him! Three weeks of growing, tightening, becoming overburdened, stretching probably to bursting. How could Ryan possibly be taking care of Chris in his state? What if Chris wasnt being taken care of at all!? And there were the ones inside of Ryanthe eggs, and the live infant. This couldnt be healthy for any of them. Jack quickly hailed a cab and slumped down into the back seat.
The ride wasnt a smooth one, Jack palming at his aching ribs as the cabbie drove with blithe disregard of the delicate state of his customer. Jack tried to refrain from looking out the windows, as he tensed or jerked every time he saw a car coming their way from the opposite direction. He seemed to be bracing himself for an impact, but the opposing cars always drove smoothly alongside the cab. He wasnt sure how his accident could have such a substantial impact on him, as he didnt even remember it.
By the time the cab pulled up in front of Ryans building, Jacks ribs were throbbing, and he could see some blood staining his pants in the front of his thigh. Ignoring it, he shoved some cash at the driver, before climbing out of the car, and limping towards the building.
When Jack made it to Ryans apartment, he was breathless and dizzy. He could hear a baby crying inside. Oh god, he thought, in fear of what scene might welcome him inside. He tried the doorknob, but it was locked. He began to furiously pound on the door, not caring that he was hurting himself in the process. He began to desperately think of ways to break the lock, when the door swung open.
Mrs. Hall, said Jack hoarsely, as he stared at Ryans mother. He was so relieved, he could cry. Cradled in her arms was his wailing, red-faced baby. By instinct, Jack reached out. Mrs. Smith gently handed Chris over.
Someone missed his daddy, Mrs. Hall intoned, as Chris began to settle down, now sobbing quietly into Jacks shirt.
Jack! Mr. Hall appeared over his wifes shoulder. You made it. Come in son, what are you standing out in the hall for? He grabbed Jacks arm and pulled him inside, Jack hardly managing to keep up between his crutch and the baby. Mr. Hall frowned at him. Youre a mess.
Hows Ryan? said Jack. His own condition was of little consequence, not when Ryan was probably suffering.
Mrs. Hall collected the baby from Jacks arms, which was probably for the best, because Jack was shaking by then. He was guided to chair, where he eased himself down, grimacing in pain as he did so.
Hes strained, Mrs. Hall admitted, the corner of her mouth pulling down, though she tried to maintain a cheery expression.
But Jack, youre injured, said Mr. Hall with a frown.
Im fine, said Jack, trying not to wince from the pain in his throbbing ribs. He closed his eyes in hopes of fending off another wave of dizziness. I can help him. I have to.
Both of Ryans parents were silent for a while. When Jack opened his eyes, Mrs. Hall mother was lightly covering her mouth with the hand that wasnt clutching Chris against her.
Youll be careful with him, wont you?
Jack nodded, feeling uneasy about the whole thing. He allowed Mr. Hall to help him to his feet, and down the corridor, to Ryans bedroom door. He could hear whimpers beyond the thick mahogany.
Good luck, said Mr. Hall.
Jack nodded, and went inside.
Ryan was truly massive. His belly was tight, flushed, and hardly fit on the bed with him. It was larger than Ryan was, and seemed to tower over him, even in his position sprawled on his side. Some of it was spilling over the edge of Ryans full-sized bed.
Jack? Ryan croaked, his eyes wide, cheeks raw from crying. His navel gave a vicious twitch, causing Ryan to squeal out in pain. It was like his body could sense Jacks presence.
Jack saw a thick trail of slime push out from Ryans red, distended belly button. It was huge, practically quivering. Ryan fidgeted and whined. Areare you okay? he managed, squeezing his eyes shut, as though it would help ease his bodys reaction to his mate.
Wonderful, said Jack breathlessly. He slowly moved forward.
Youre hurt, Ryan protested in a breathless whisper. Fresh tears trailed down his cheeks. You dont have to
Shhhh, Jack urged, watching as Ryans belly button pumped out again, causing Ryan to release a croaked yelp. Jack slowly moved around the bed, surveying Ryans ass, which was swollen and flushed, having fully popped out over the waistband of Ryans sweat pants. It was truly gigantic, visibly pulsating with need. Jack slowly eased himself onto the mattress. Its okay he murmured.
Ryan released an unintelligible noise that only served to make Jacks dick jerk to attention. Jack laid down and eased himself closer.
So tight Ryan moaned, panting. I cantI cant take any more. Im about to burst, he whined, shuddering as Jack trailed his fingers over his hips.
A little more, Jack cooed, ghosting his fingers over Ryans bulging flank. He knew that in order to relieve Ryan, he would have to impregnate him again. But Ryan was right. It didnt look like he could take a centimeter more of strain. But what choice did they have?
Jack Ryan reached back, gripping his shirt so tightly his knuckles turned white.
Im not going anywhere.
Ryan simply panted, giving harsh gasps and pained groans, his belly heaving, body pulsing, every part of him overwhelmed by Jacks close proximity. His body needed a break. He had to let Jack help him.
Lets get those babies out of you, Jack whispered, kissing his shoulder. He marveled at Ryans engorged breasts; fat EEE-cups, pink nipples the size of coke caps.
Ryan hesitated, still struggling to catch his breath. Jack could tell he was afraid. His grip on Jacks shirt slackened. Okay, Ryan said.
