The meeting went as well as could be expected.
Jack sat at the head of the table, his swollen belly perched in his lap, mostly hidden beneath the table top, while still pressing against the edge. Jack simply hoped that none of his guests noticed his mound, which was only visible from a certain angle, assuming his guests thought he warranted the scrutiny. Jack attempted a combination of boring yet convincing in his presentation as he spoke with calm composure despite the consistent twinges that shuddered through his gut.
He felt hot and breathless, his face flushed. He knew that he was sweating into his underarms, but refused to remove his blazer, partly to help conceal his belly, and partly because his nipples were stinging. He could feel the disgusting wetness of warm fluid trickling down his chest. Most likely damp spots had formed over each of his nipples, a humiliating indicator of his bizarre lactation.
The weird rash beneath his chest was stinging as well, his skin hot and tingly. Somehow Jack got through his proposal. He went into detail on his secret partner, a private breeder, the minimal costs, the rare breeds, and the considerable profits over the last quarter. Without removing himself from his seat, he gave his presentation smoothly, despite the squirming movements and the consistent tightening. Ohhh He gasped quietly, clutching his navel under the table. He blushed and pressed his lips tightly together, hoping no one had noticed. He got a fleeting glance from Mrs. Stevens and a dubious frown from Archburger.
I have to admit, Stevens said, flipping through some papers. I like what Ive heard, Mr. Price.
Jack forced a smile. Now would be the time to invest, he forced out, rubbing his tight gut, a knot bulging against his palm. Were at a mgghh turning point, to be honest. Im expecting another stock of rare cats any day now.
Stevens gave him an appraising look for a moment, before lifting her pen. Where do I sign?
Jacks relief was short-lived by the stabbing pains twisting from his stomach to his backside. Just a little longer. He dabbed at his sweaty brow with a napkin, and passed the necessary forms.
Of the three attending the meeting, both Stevens and Archburger signed on. He knew it was hardly polite not to stand and thank them, but he wasnt even sure if he could get up by that point. He was fighting a potent urge to push, his guts tight and aching badly, making him feel as though he was constipated. He strained to grin and nodded as each investor walked off, giving feeble murmurs of appreciation as he bowed to yet more forms and pretended to be preoccupied by them. He hoped this didnt get back to his parents; they would think him impudent.
Mr. Benette, the last potential investor, lingered by the door. He turned back to Jack, who felt like he might pop by then.
Mr. Price Benette walked over. I would like to shake your hand.
Of course. Jack quickly looked up and extended his hand, his arm slightly tremulous, but he shook Benettes firmly. Thank you for coming.
Thank you for having me, Benette responded. He was young; only a little older than Jack it seemed. His dark hair was sleeked back and he was dressed sharply. Jack was sure he was some rich heir or the other. I admit, that was an enticing proposal. Im still not quite convinced, but I would like to see your profits for the upcoming quarter. Invite me to your next meeting? He held Jacks gaze.
Of course, Jack said, blinking back some tears stinging at the corners of his eyes. I expect t-to have anothagghhhhhh! He clutched his gut.
Mr. Price, are you okay? said Benette, looking alarmed. To Jacks horror, Benette perused him, and finally took notice of his massive gut. His jaw fell open.
F-fine, Jack forced out with a pleading look. P-perfectly fine. I just r-really need to finish these contracts. He feebly patted the forms in front of him.
Mr. Price
Close the door behind you? Jack entreated, a tear finally slipping free to roll down his cheek. These kittens felt big for some reason. He could feel one stretching him, trying to crown. He ran his hand over his face, muffling a groan. He was sweating badly through his shirt; breathing in gasps. God, this was bad. His belly shuddered, and he twitched in his seat, the first kitten nearly popping free. Please, he practically groaned.
Benette hesitated, then nodded, before backing to the door. Jack knew he had questions, but thankfully, Benette refrained from asking them. Once the door was firmly shut, Jack heaved himself out of his seat and collapsed to his knees.
He sunk to all fours, but not completely, because his belly was pressing against the carpeted floor. As he fumbled with his belt with one hand, Jack somehow dragged himself to an animal bed in the corner. They kept animal beds in most of the rooms, for the mornings when they allowed the occasional dog or cat to wander the store. It added to their image, their advocacy that cage-time should be limited. Ironically, they were a pet shop. Jack snorted as he jammed down his pants and boxers, allowing them to get caught around his knees as he groaned and bore down.
Ngghhhh He pushed as his belly contracted. It felt so much better to be pushing. He sighed and rubbed his mound. The process was by no means painful, but it was definitely more uncomfortable than before, this stock larger, stretching him right to the cusp of pain. Ahhh ohhhhhhh His belly shuddered as the first and second kitten escaped him in quick succession. He pushed and pushed, rather disgusted with himself as he felt creature after creature bulge free of his heaving body. Hahhh hahhhh he panted. This was going to be hell to explain to Dean and Mindy, but he just focused on getting it over with. He could see his belly progressively sinking, growing softer and less tense. God, there were a lot of them. The birth went on for an hour, the whole time, Jack refusing to look back, because perhaps on some level he suspected there was something just off about the whole thing.
The whimpering noises seemed to corroborate his indeterminate fears. The kittens had never whimpered in such a way. Jack waited several minutes, before feeling a slight contraction, and pushing out the last one. Feeling sore and weary, he gingerly crawled away from the bed, turned to face his litter, and blinked at what he saw.
Puppies.
Jack stared blankly. It wasnt a bad thing. It was just different. A weird escalation of what had happened before. He gulped in trepidation he refused to analyze.
Jack dropped himself to his back as the newborn puppies whimpered and squirmed all over each other in a little mountain of bodies, all of them sleek and dark, awaiting attention. Jack finally fumbled out of his too-hot blazer. He absently drew up his shirt to expose his burning skin to the cool air. Hed give anything for a nap at that moment, but it was entirely miraculous that neither Mindy nor Dean had come looking for him by then. He needed to get himself together and get his story straight.
He gazed wearily at the puppies. There had to be three dozen of them! He wasnt even sure if the shop could accommodate them all. Well figure it out, he muttered to himself. Stock would be moved around. The store would focus on selling puppies for the next few months. He wondered about the breeds, but it was too early to tell. They were all still sleek and slimy, but he could detect nuance, and he suspected a wide variety just as it had been with the kittens.
Jacks chest heaved with his heavy breathing. He felt oddly proud of himself. His eyes began to drift shut, when he winced. Mmmm
His hand lifted to his chest. It seemed even more swollen than before, though he wanted to believe he was imagining it. Both nipples were consistently dripping now, not letting up, but he was sure it was just all the stimulation. He fingers stroked down a few inches, to the stinging of the skin above his ribs, when he encountered a distinctive bump that hardened at his touch and made his whole body shutter. His eyes snapping open, Jack sat up with a wince.
He looked down at himself, really examined himself. His stomach was still somewhat bloated, his pecks now soft rounded mounds that resembled A-cup breasts. But they did not conceal the skin beneath them, and he stared in shock at the two extra nipples sitting inches below them, proud, and pink, and dripping.
Holy shit, Jack hissed, jerking back, as though to get away from his own body. Howwhenhe had extra nipples! This looked permanent! It was abnormallingering evidence of his freakishness even now that the pregnancy was over!
Jack sat there, hyperventilating. He hastily jerked down his shirt.
A light knock on the door proved a merciful distraction. Not to interrupt, Jack, but the new fish tanks are in.
Right, Jack called weakly, fidgeting with the hem of his shirt. He found himself shuffling farther away from the puppies, one of which had managed to squirm his way. Thankfully, most of the others were sleeping by then. Ill be right out, he said.
He heard Deans footsteps walk off.
-
Jack tried not to wince with every step. His shirt was wet, chest puffy, and clothes hanging off him, pants practically falling down his newly-slim body. Hugging his blazer against himself, he left the meeting room and closed the door behind him, ignoring as Dean waved to get his attention where he stood in front of the shop beside a mountain of large boxes and a irked-looking delivery man.
Head bowed, Jack shuffled into the bathroom, locked himself into a stall, opened his briefcase, and pulled out a tank top and a spare button-down.
He was glad he had thought to bring spare clothes. He didnt like the idea of smelling like sour milk by the days end.
Jerking off his milk-soaked, baggy top, Jack replaced it with the tank top. He frowned down at his nipples, all four erect, making for a grotesque arrangement. Worse, he was still lactating from all four of them. Jack hastily grabbed a roll of toilet paper and folded the sheets into four, thick squares which he tucked into the tanktop over each nipple, and prayed that they would stay put, or that the dripping would subside before the paper got soaked up, or that his four nipples would simply disappear, all four of them, because even that would be preferable to having to lactate a moment longer.
Drawing a deep breath, Jack pulled on the fresh shirt, buttoned it up, and threw on his sweaty blazer, before he joined Dean in the front of the store. Jack tried to inexplicably look fatter than he was, but he knew it was no use, and he could feel Dean staring in shock at his newly-slim form, but pretended not to notice.
Thanks, this is the exact amount I wanted, Jack said to the delivery man, not even looking at the boxes. He pulled out his wallet and gave the man a generous tip. I just need you to pick up the old ones. Theyre out back. Dean will show you. Jack nodded to Dean and turned away to see his other employee leaning against the lonely register, idly examining a chip on her crimson fingernails. Mindy, a word? Jack motioned towards the meeting room and led the way.
