When it was over, both were panting and flushed. Ryan absently cupped his navel.
You can go, said Ryan awkwardly.
Jack hesitated. I dont have to be back to work immediately, he said.
Ryan peered at him. Dont tell me youre going soft.
He shrugged.
S-seriously Jack. Ryan gave him a pointed shove, and Jack got off the bed. Ryan then went about turning the blankets into the shape of a nest, awkward as it was for him with his swollen body. Jack went to the closet and brought back some towels to aid him.
Ryan was a pro by then. His last delivery had been done in less than twenty-four hours.
When the impromptu nest was finished, Ryan heaved a sigh, and leaned back on the pillows. He cupped his belly, under his navel, which was rapidly swelling from the size of a golf ball to the size of a tennis ball. He breathed and shuddered. Jack left to get a snack.
Jack poked around Ryans refrigerator until he found the ingredients to make a sandwich. He sat down on the couch in the living room, and for several minutes, he listened to the sound of Ryans quiet groans and thin breathing. After a while, Jack turned on the TV and spread his legs out across the cushions.
It was the middle of the night when Jack blinked awake, reached for the remote, and turned off the television. He climbed off the couch and arched his back, trying to recover from the uncomfortable position he had fallen asleep in. He walked over to the bedroom and glanced inside to see that Ryan was sprawled on the bed on his side, dozing. He was unconsciously shifting from time to time, and idly pawing at his shuddering belly. His belly button was fully distended, and oozing goo. It wouldnt be much longer. Hed probably start birthing as soon as he woke.
Jack quietly stepped back and returned to the living room couch. He lay across it, closed his eyes, and fell back asleep.

Jack awoke late the next morning. He could hear Ryans gasping breaths down the hall.
Wiping the sleep from his eyes, Jack stared blackly at the ceiling for a while. He sat up and yawned. Stretched his shoulders.
Jack strolled to the bedroom. It looked like Ryan was done. He was surrounded by small mountains of translucent eggs that took up most of the bed.
Ryan, said Jack in surprise as he approached. He stared at Ryans abdomen.
I know Ryan groaned, where he was sprawled. His arm covered his eyes, as though he didnt want to look at himself.
Ryan was still pregnant. Though he was considerably smaller than he had been before, he still looked as though he was eight months along.
Strangely, Ryans navel had shrunk down to the size of a marble, no longer looking prepared for birth. Jack couldnt help but reach out to lay his hand on Ryans sticky belly. It was tight and firm, and as Jack trailed his fingers along it, the skin seemed to tense. Arching his back, Ryan released a pained groan.
Whats happening? said Jack, stunned. Was this some other alien anomaly?
I dont know, Ryan managed. He pulled his arm away from his face to reveal his raw cheeks and wet yes. Hed been crying.
Youre in pain, Jack realized. Another irregularity.
Not too m-much, Ryan stammered, before releasing a whimper and clutching his gut, his shoulders trembling. He panted as the pain winded down, rubbing circles on his belly. He rubbed his tender navel, as if coaxing it to grow.
Somethings wrong, said Jack as Ryan panted.
I I know.
We have to call your parents. Jack felt a growing panic, and he didnt know why. It wasnt as though he had stakes in this. He wasnt usually even here for this part of the process. Why had he chosen now, of all times, when the world had decided to go mad?
They're off-planet, Ryan choked out, folding in on himself. Nrrggghh ohhhh
Shuffling eggs aside, Jack carefully climbed into the nest of blankets. He settled behind Ryan, pulling him between his legs so the smaller mans back rested on his chest. Maybe I didnt fertilize you properly, he inferred.
Ryan took a ragged breath. O-okay. He nodded.
Though Ryan was uncomfortable, Jack fucked him again, slowly, gently. Every so often, Ryan would tense up, clutching his belly, clenching so tightly that Jacks vision blurred.
When it was over, Ryans belly button still showed no sign of growth, and he was just as uncomfortable. He leaned against Jack, flushed and exhausted, stubborn tears trailing his cheeks despite how frequently he wiped them away. His whole body was hot and sweat-soaked.
M-maybe Im dying.
No said Jack, absently cupping the side of Ryans belly. We we need to get a doctor.
Jack, Im an alien, Ryan moaned. And I somehow d-doubt that that would be helpfulohhhhhh! Ryan hunched over, eyes squeezed shut. His belly looked very slow, and his hips wider, somewhat. He held the underside of his mound, as though to support it. Jack .errgghhh Jack I have to Ryan scrambled to get away from him. He climbed out of the bed, hunched, staggering. He nearly tripped on his clothesthe tanktop drawn over his stomach, and the shorts pushed down to his knees. He made it as far as the bathroom door before releasing a choked sob, squatting down, and groaning.
His chest heaved, breasts looking bloated as they bulged over his low neckline. They were blatantly large now. They must have grown to C-cups in just a matter of a few hours. His nipples were hard and swollen, and they started to drip the sweat pooling at his chest. His ass was bloated, the way it looked when he was in heat. It was plump and full, and trembling.
Ohhhh Ryan groaned. Something nghhhh somethings
Jack stared in shock as Ryans ass cheeks began to spread, opening, as something something began to crown from his opening. Sobbing in sharp breaths, Ryan bore down. At first, Jack thought it was an egg. He remembered how Ryan had told him that hed once actually vomited the things, when he was too congested.
But it wasnt an egg. That much was clear as Ryan continued to strain, clutching his knee with one hand, and his contracting belly with the other. He gave another push, and Jack could see the head.
Oh god, Jack breathed, hurrying over to him. He held Ryan steady, and supported the thingthe babyas Ryan whimpered and struggled, in too much pain to form words. With several more pushes, the shoulders broke through. Ryan released a hoarse wail.
Completely numb, Jack carefully dislodged the baby. He help it carefully in his arms as Ryan sunk to all fours, looking like he might collapse. His stomach was still pudgy, but had taken on a deflated appearance. Jack could just make out the peak where his womb was prepared to grow his next litter of eggs.
Its a boy, said Jack blankly as hoarse wails filled the room.
Oh said Ryan, equally deadpan. With that, he fell to his side.
-
When Ryan awoke, his whole body hurt. He shifted slightly, feeling his soft mattress beneath his weary body. He opened his eyes and saw Jack, sitting on the bed beside him. And he was holding he was holding
Ryan sat upright. That really happened, he said, staring at the baby in Jacks arms.
Yeah, said Jack, still gazing at the infant. I guess this one took after our human genes.
Jack gingerly passed the infant over to Ryan, whose chest ached as he cradled it. The baby opened his eyes, smacked his lips, and gurgled.
Where are the eggs? said Ryan, not taking his eyes off the baby.
In the bath for now, said Jack. I didnt want to take them to the beach until you woke up.
Ryan nodded. Jack, what are we he trailed off. We have a baby, he choked. How is this possible?
How is any of it possible? Jack countered.
Ryan flushed in guilt. S-sorry. You got roped into this. You shouldnt have to be
Its okay, Jack muttered, leaning back against the pillows, absently watching the baby as he opened and closed his tiny fists.
What are we going to do?
Jack lifted his gaze to Ryan and contemplated him for a moment. I think you should nurse him.
What?
Hes getting fussy, said Jack, gently tugging the neckline of Ryans tanktop down, allowing his breasts to pop free. Ryan blushed. I think you can nurse him. It explains these.
Ryan nodded and adjusted to baby in his arms. He was a quick learner, and nursed without issue. Ryan winced. So were keeping him?
Ryan, hes ours.
So they sat there in silence, as the baby nursed. After a while, Jack got up to load the eggs into his car.

Several months later
Jack sat in his office, one of his legs crossed over his knee. He had been waiting for a heads-up from Ryan over the past few days. It had to be nearly time by now, and it would take him at least a day and a half to get to Ryan once he was alerted.
Jack lifted his cell phone and dialed Ryans number, but his thumb hovered over the Call button. He was being excessive. He sighed and lowered the device, when it arbitrarily began to ring.
Jack glanced at the glass face. It was Ryan. Hello? he answered.
Jack, said Ryan, sounding a little breathless. How soon can you come over?
Give me a day.
Jack caught the first flight out of the city.
When he walked into Ryans place the next day, Ryan was perched on the couch with the baby in his arms. I didnt think you would be back so soon, said Ryan, getting up with some difficulty.
His belly heaved up and down with his heavy breathing. He looked cheerful but overwhelmed, and ready to pop. Im fine, he said at Jacks stare.
Of course, said Jack, taking the baby from his arms. Ryan looked as though he was at term with triplets. How is the little one? Baby Chris squirmed at seeing Jack, and happily drooled on him.
Good, said Ryan breathlessly. The eggs are good as well. And I think I think I might be carrying another human one. He flushed.
Jack thought so too, he just hadnt mentioned it. Ryan had all the signs. Jack walked over with Chris on his hip, and laid his free hand on Ryans firm belly. Ryans breasts were engorged as well, now looking like D-cups. Jack was just glad he had convinced Ryan to quit his job.
Lets talk, he said, setting Chris in his crib before ushering Ryan to the bedroom.
