-
A week later, Ryan was set up in his apartment, and had just finished unpacking his last box. He held onto the kitchen table, feeling rather breathless, and yet content. He could finally be comfortable in his environment, without his overprotective parents hoovering over him and trying to figure out what was going on.
Over the past few days, Ryan had tried to slow down his consumption of food, but the tail seemed to have a mind of its own. If Ryan didnt allow the tail to eat, it became restless, often writhing about, or producing a clear slimy substance from its dimple. Ryan, in consequence, would feel anxious, and during these periods, he found that he could think of little else but food.
After a while, the hunger pains would start to strike, which would leave Ryan clutching his belly and groaning. They would grow incrementally worse minute by minute, leaving Ryan with no choice but to consume.
Because of these issues, Ryan attempted a new approach. He tried to maintain a sort of feeding schedule. He allowed the tail snacks every hour or two.
But this didnt seem to be working either. The snacks werent enough for the tail. It was perpetually discontent, and seemed to want more food every day.
Ryan tried to get some exercise, even if just the minimum amount he gained through pacing awkwardly in his apartment, holding the side of his belly as he mulled things over. God, he looked absolutely pregnant. He half-feared that he would start waddling.
His nipples had been getting even more sensitive lately, and Ryan noticed that he was accumulating a little bit of pudgeanthills on his chest. But it was barely noticeable in his T-shirts, especially when it paled in comparison to the mound of his belly.
None of his shirts could encompass his abdomen anymore, his belly always protruding from the underside of his shirts. It was so bizarre on his otherwise slim frame.
Ryan went online, and was embarrassed to find himself ordering some maternity clothes. He stuck with looser, discreet tops, in dark colorsshirts that could pass as male attire. He was flushed and miserable by the time he submitted the order. His weight problems were only getting worse.
For a while, Ryan endured the constant struggle between the tail, his displeasure, the pains, the cravings, the desperation for that tight feeling of fullnessit was all so exhausting. A part of him just wanted to give in. And then he did one day. Ryan simply let go of the frustration and anxiety. Instead, he allowed the tail to indulge.
Ryan, and the tail, emptied the contents of his fridge. He fed the tail processed meats and cool cheeses, loafs of bread, pastries, even allowing it to dive into a container or goey mayo and suck to its contentment.
Ryans face reddened with every morsel, his belly tightening in the most euphoric of ways. The tail sucked down grapes, plums, a container of chocolate ice cream, and a large bag of microwaved chicken nuggets.
He was almost done. Just one more one more thing
Ryan gently placed a cherry against the tails dimple, and couldnt help smiling in pleasure as the tail sucked it down. He released a yelp as his belly button popped out again. It had sunk back in some days before. Ryan absently ran his finger over it. When his navel protruded outward, it was usually an indicator that his belly was at capacity, and this pleased Ryan for some reason.
He leaned back in the chair and savored the combined sensations of discomfort and contentment as his belly rose and fell with his heavy breaths. It was protruding entirely from his tanktop, perched on his lap. His cheeks flushed, Ryan rubbed the sweaty round ball as it wobbled gently with his movement. Goodness, he looked due with twins by then.
Ryan tried to settle himself down for a short nap, but his belly grumbled, causing his eyes to widen, as the tail waved behind him. He stared blankly at his mound, completely stunned. It was insatiable. He was a lost cause.
In the following days, Ryan reacted the best he couldhe tried to surround himself with small, healthy things. He kept a lot of grapes, berries, tangerines, olives, and plums in the housethings that wouldnt make him gain too much weight, and yet would help keep the tails appetite at bay.
The tail was now eating almost constantly. Ryans belly was usually tight and compacted during the day. His belly was somewhat softer in the mornings, after a night of sleep.
Ryan found that the better he kept the tail fed, the more control he seemed to have over its behavior. Ryan became less prone to awkward situations on the rare occasions that he did go out. He had long-since learned that the tail was going to find a way to feed, whether he liked it or not. It was best to control what it did consume before he lost the privileged altogether.
The weather was cooling rapidly now, and Ryans heat had gone out. None of his efforts to call Customer Service seemed to yield any contact with a real human being, and Ryan was left with no choice but to venture out of his apartment and to the local office, even bloated as he was.
Unfortunately for Ryan, his maternity attire still had not arrived. He was left trying to squeeze into his largest sweater, which didnt offer much coverage at all. The stretched cotton was quick to slide up, inches above his protruding belly button. He was uncomfortably full, as he often was these days, his round belly bobbing gently as he navigated his large mound forward. He reached his apartment door, and again tugged down on the hem of his shirt self-consciously. He was truly a sight to seeslim young man, with a massively protruding belly.
As if Ryans embarrassment over his belly wasnt enough, his nipples seemed to have gotten larger, and were pinker than ever. They seemed tender, and somewhat swollen. The slight anthills on his chest seemed to have plumpened as well. Ryan tried his best not to bother them, so that hopefully the irritation and swelling would subside.
Heaving a defeated sigh, Ryan reached down and opened the door to his apartment.
He blanched when he came face-to-face with his parents in the hall.
Thank goodness the tail was wrapped around his waist, presently hidden beneath the waistband of his sweats. And thank goodness he had fed it quite well before his planned venture. It would be sated, at least for the next several minutes.
Ryans mother and father looked as though they had just arrived and were prepared to knock at the door. His mother was clutching a large glass pan, within which was what looked to be a casserole. Ryans parents stared at him, appearing as stunned as he was. Unsurprisingly, their gazes locked on his belly.
Mom. D-Dad, Ryan managed, as he again tugged on the hem of his shirt. G-glad you stopped by, he said, with an unconvincing smile. As they had already seen him, Ryan certainly couldnt send his parents on their way. He found that he was left with no choice but to step aside, and allow them in.
Turning away, Ryan tried to keep his breathing steady. As he led his parents towards the kitchen, he became self-conscious of his every movement. He watched the way his chest heaved, and his belly gently bobbed. He was conscious of his heavy hips, and his sore back, and the general way that he moved nowa tendency towards rocking. Ryan realized, quite belatedly, that he was developing a waddle.
Sit down, said Ryan breathlessly, once the three of them were standing in the kitchen. Ryan pulled out a chair and eased himself down at the table. His parents both hesitated, and followed.
His mother lowered the casserole with trembling hands. Ryan, i-its good to see you.
There was a long bout of silence, in which no one addressed the elephant in the roomRyans swollen belly. Ryans parents had previously convinced themselves that Ryan had been stuffing something in his shirt. But now that his belly was bare and blatant, they simply didnt know what to think, or say.
You b-brought casserole, Ryan managed, sweating.
Tammy snapped out of her reverie. Oh, yes. I know its your favorite, she said awkwardly. With that, Tammy got to her feet, and went about setting the table and serving each of their dishes with copious amounts of casserole.
The meal was intensely silent.
Ryan nibbled at his food, though it had become entirely uncomfortable for him to eat by mouth by then. In fact, it was sickening. Ryan tried his best to keep what little he put into his mouth down, and mostly just shuffled food around in his plate.
And yet his appetite was only increasing. The aroma was maddening. He struggled to contain the tail, because it relentlessly wanted to dive into the food and suck it all down, even as tight and full as Ryan was still feeling from his large meal a half-hour earlier.
Its delicious, Ryan forced out, flushed and sweating. God it it really is. He cupped his belly beneath the table. It was positively throbbing. With tightness and need.
Ryan what whats going on? Samuel finally spoke.
Its kind of complicated, Ryan admitted, panting. But I promiseIll tell you soon. But right now mom dad I needI really need you to go.
His parents looked horror-struck.
I promise Im fine, Ryan elaborated. Please just go.
Ryans parents stared at him a moment longer, looks of hurt and bafflement evident on their faces. Finally, they stood.
Fine, said Samuel.
Tammy walked over and kissed Ryans cheek. I really hope youre okay, Ryan. Tears in her eyes, she joined her husband, and both walked off.
Ryan released a long sigh at the sound of the door closing behind them.
