Quick, we have to pump his stomach, said Gary, hurrying to Zacks side.
Connor stammered, Youyou want to
Hurry Connor, before it's too late. They're growing.
Zacks belly was large and round, wider than Zack was. Zack released a grunt, his belly button throbbing.
Still feeling stunned, Connor walked over and helped Gary to prop Zack up against the wall, allowing Zacks belly to rest in his lap. Now Zacks belly button was twitching, and Connor could do little more than stare. Zack groaned and clutched the mound as it trembled. It was absolutely massive. Zacks belly button pushed out farther, causing Zacks face to go red. Panting, Zack narrowly opened his eyes, taking in Connors stunned expression, but then Zack passed out again.
Gary handed Connor a jar. I have to go upstairs and grab some equipment. Rub him with this to help ease the tension. Ill be back as soon as possible.
Connor blankly stared as Gary hurried outside. Connors gaze shifted to the jar in his hands, and then back to Zack, who was still groaning and trembling, even in his unconsciousness. Zacks large belly was protruding through the opening torn through his button-down shirt. The mound looked packed, his navel flushed.
Trying not to think about the mass amount of slugs stuffed into Zack, Connor removed the cover on the jar and dipped his hands into an oily cream. He felt a little awkward smearing it onto Zacks belly, massaging it into his skin. Connor had never seen anything like this before.
Connor felt scared. He tried not to compare Zacks belly to his own developing mound. This was absolutely insane. Better yetjust some crazy dream. Connor felt jittery, but the more attention he gave to coating Zacks heated belly, the more Connors body seemed to calm down. Connors eyes widened as he felt the slugs squirm within Zacks mass. It reminded Connor of the weird sensation he had felt in his own belly earlier that very morning.
Connor gulped.
Zack released another groan, this one sounding more relieved than the others. Connor could feel that Zacks belly was softer now, his skin more supple, with more resistance to the pressure within it.
Connor heard the door open. He turned his head and was relieved to see that Gary had returned, some equipment piled in his arms.
Gary crouched down before Zack, unbuttoning the remainder of the young mans shirt. Connor was surprised to see a softness to Zacks chest that he had never noticed there before.
Gary then placed a large bucket on the ground beside Zack and began to fill it with two gallon-jugs of liquid he had brought from upstairs. The fluid was gray with the consistency of milk.
Sodium chloride, Gary explained. Its the most effective way to kill them. Hand me that tube.
His body moving on autopilot, Connor handed Gary a clear, wide, rubber hose from the pile of equipment. Connor saw Gary poise the hose it at Zacks mouth. Cant that hurt him?
Its our best chance to get those things out of him. And trust me, these creatures can hurt him far more than this tube can, especially if we dont move fast. Gary opened Zacks mouth and pushed the tube through.
Snapping awake, Zack grunted and struggled as Gary forced the tube down his throat. The tube was thickit had to be an inch and a half in diameter. Once Gary was finished, Zack seemed to calm down again, his chest heaving as his eyes darted around in panic. He tried to speak but just produced choking noises. He looked down at his pulsating belly and moaned in horror.
Connor placed his hand on Zacks shoulder, trying to keep him calm. Its okay. Were helping you, Connor said. Connor watched as Gary connected the opposite end of the hose to a machine, then flicked a switch upwards.
A blue fluid surged up the hose and towards Zacks mouth. As the fluid dove down Zacks throat and hit his stomach, Zacks eyes went wide. Connor could physically see Zacks belly getting tighter, Zacks face reddening. Connor gripped Zacks shoulders as the young man began to struggle. What are you doing? Connor said to Gary as Zacks belly continued to swell. It was approaching the size of a beach ball. Hes going to burst, Connor hissed, Zacks belly bobbing as Zack struggled to remove the tube from his throat. The mound grew tighter and tighter, Zacks face becoming beet red. Just as Connor considered pulling the tube out himself, Gary reached over to the machine and flicked the switch downwards.
There was a thwopping noise as the suction was reversed, the blue liquid being pumped back out of Zacks belly, this time accompanied by fat, beige masses. The slugs.
Gary opened the back of the machine, removing a half-emptied bucket of blue liquid and promptly replaced it with the bucket of sodium chloride. Connor watched Zack gag as the masses were forced out of his throat, stretching through the hose, and smacking into the machine with sputtering noises that made Connor concerned that the machine was going to break. The hose stretched and contorted with the beige lumps pushing through it, probably much the way Zacks esophagus was contorting as he was forced to heave out fat slug after fat slug.
Now Zack was releasing choked whimpers, clutching at his abdomen as this proceeded. Connor could see that Zacks mound was progressively softening, slowly getting smaller, as slug after slug was sucked out. They slammed into the machine and then there was a sizzling hum.
It was all too much for Connor. He fell into a stupor as he absently held his own rounded belly. Meanwhile Zacks belly shrunk down until his torso was nearly flat again. When it was finally over, and Gary wrenched the tube out of Zacks throat, Zack released a weak, anguished noise, before his eyes rolled upwards, and his head dropped. He had fallen unconscious.
This was unreal. Connor sat there on the floor, continuing to gawk. His gaze shifted to Gary, who was emptying out the back of the machine. The contents of the bucket were overflowing, and had become a slimy beige consistency. Connor covered his mouth with his hand, trying not to get sick again.
Gary glanced up at him. Finally ready to talk?
-
Connor stood against his kitchen counter, trying his best to breathe through his nausea. He ran his hands up and down his seven-month-pregnant-looking belly currently stretching out his button-down. He tried his best not to think about what had happened to Zack. He didnt even want to think about what might be happening inside of him.
Zack was sprawled across the couch, still unconscious. Connor had buttoned him into one of his old shirts. Then again, what was the point? It wasnt like Zack wouldnt notice.
Gary was presently hauling the overflowing bucket of slug-juice outside. Connor tried not to look as some of it splattered onto the floor.
When Gary returned, he joined Connor in the kitchen. The two were silent for a while, not meeting eyes.
Connor was numb. He continued to stare at his belly. It was time to connect the dots. My weight gain. Is that whats happening to me? he said weakly. As if on cue, his stomach tightened, his belly button bulging farther out. Connor gasped and clutched his abdomen, his face flushed as he waited for the pressure to subside.
In a way, Gary responded.
This was too much for Connor take in. Quickly hunching over the sink, he puked. He gasped for a few moments, staring down at his grainy vomit. As he straightened himself again, Gary nonchalantly retrieved what was left of the second gallon of sodium chloride. He walked over to the sink and poured it around the base and down the drain.
Oh god, Connor breathed, beginning to sweat. We have to pump them out of me.
Its not that simple, said Gary. But theres still time.
What do you mean? said Connor, his heart pounding. Zack had been far larger than he was.
In your case Connor, theres only one slug.
What? said Connor blankly.
One...large slug.
Connor blanched. His skin started to crawl. He slowly lowered his gaze back down to his belly. Oh god, he said weakly.
From the couch, Zack released a groan. He sat up, looking around in confusion. But then confusion became alarm. He quickly brought his hands to his flat stomach, then blinked a few times. Zack finally took notice of Connor and Gary.
W-whats going on? Zack stammered.
Connor tried his best to collect his composure. You kind of just passed out. Long night I g-guess? Maybe you should t-take the day off. Connor forced a smile.
The look of panic never lifted from Zacks face. He continued to hug his torso. Undoubtedly, his body felt weird to him. Connor could see that though Zacks stomach had gone down, it was still somewhat fuller and softer than it had been prior to Zacks infestation with slugs. Zacks chest also seemed yet puffier. He almost looked like he had developed A-cup breasts on his chest.
I I have to go, said Zack, getting up. He paused, clearly sore. As Zack held his hips and stretched his back, Connor could see that Zacks bottom was noticeably plumper as well.
With that, Zack hurried out of the apartment. He was in such a haste, he left his broken laptop on the floor.
Connor heaved a sigh as the door closed in Zacks wake. Pretenses lowering, he became shaky again. W-what are we going to do about this? He held his belly. He couldnt imagine how they would pump his stomach of one, massive slug.
Connor, youre going to have to give birth to it.
