7 Weeks
Connor waddled to his desk. He pulled out his chair and carefully sat down.
His colleague, Stacey, sat one desk over. She threw him a reassuring smile, but Connor glared back. Stacey quickly ducked down to attend to her work, as though she feared Connors condition was contagious.
Connor was miserable. He barely talked to anyone unless he absolutely had to. He wanted to go to the police, but both the hospital and his employers explained that the contract was government-certified; absolute. He was obligated to follow it, otherwise his agency could have him incarcerated, which would only make matters worse. He wanted to just stay home and be miserable, but the stupid contract also stipulated that he continue to show up to work at his normal schedule unless health problems prevented him from doing so. Because elephant pregnancy wasnt a recognized health issue, he was forced to go to work like normal, and his usual schedule was twelve hours a day.
Even when Connor was home, he didnt know what to do with himself. He would sit up in bed snacking and watching TV, trying not to think about the creature growing in his stomach. Impregnating him with an elephant pure insanity! What could possibly be the scientific benefit of it?
It will allow us to test the capacity of the human body, Reed had explained. Connor just wanted to test how tightly he could clamp his hands around Reeds neck.
Presently, Connor was sitting behind his desk, fidgeting uncomfortably. His large belly was perched in his lap, round and full as a beach ball. But it had a thick layer of fat upon it, making it squishy as well as firm. It was getting so large, it was growing wider than the rest of his.
Connor fidgeted more, attempting to pull up to his paperwork, but his belly put a good amount of distance between him and his desk. As he tried to lean over the forms, his breasts squished up against his chin, causing him to grunt in frustration.
His job had been quick to provide him with a super-large lab coat, as though theyd already had one aside in preparation for him to get as large. As little else fit him, he was left topless beneath the lab coat, growing uneasier and uneasier as it tightened against his body, diamonds of skin developing between the buttons, nipples aching as they pushed hard against the material, breasts feeling as though they might explode from his top. It would be mortifying to have to ask Reed for a larger lab coat after such a short while in this one. Besides, he was sure he would be able to fit it, at least for another few days. He hoped. Connor uncertainly rubbed the side of his belly.
He was picked up and dropped off now, as he could no longer fit behind the steering wheel of his car. This, of course, also meant the lab dictated everywhere he wanted to go. It was humiliating when he requested a colleague to pull into a drive-thru by his house and order him a few bags of burgers as his stomach grumbled. His appetite had gotten insatiable, and it was hard to get around the few hours he was home and cook a proper meal. All he wanted to do when he was off work was crawl into bed, sleep, and wake up from his living nightmare.
Sometimes he tried to understand his condition by reading up on elephants. Apparently their gestation period was two years long. The concept of being pregnant for two years was nerve wracking in itself, let alone with an elephant. He was only seven weeks along, and looked ready to pop. There was no way he would be able to carry to term. When he presented this problem to Reed, she only responded with vague hypotheticals. They were using his body as a petri dish, but wouldnt tell him anything! All he could do was try to endure it.
At work, James was tasked with hooking Connor up to an IV line every morning, and a fresh one in the afternoon. The pale green fluid flowing into Connors veins was a combination of pure fat and special drugs to help his body accommodate its rapidly growing weight. His skin was soft and supple now, but when he missed a dose, sometimes he felt tight as a drum. He always made sure to remind James if he forgot to hook him up to the IV. Once Connor even reported him. This was his health, and he wouldnt let someone elses incompetence put it at stake!
When he was at home, Connor had to sit in the bath for hours, pouring special powders into the water to farther soften his skin. It was tedious and annoying, but Connor did as he was ordered. Anything to get him through this. He also rubbed lotions and creams on his breasts to soften them, otherwise the mounds became sore and ached after his growth spurts.
He had stopped returning Sams calls. He had broken contact with his family. Connor was too humiliated. He didnt know what he would say to them.
Just as Connor finally managed to press the tip of his pen against the paperwork on his desk, he dropped it, instead clutching his navel. Oh, he hissed. He regretted it the moment it came out.
Stacey looked up at him, as did several of his other colleagues in the room. I think its happening, one of them whispered.
Connor tried to ignore them, and pretend nothing was going on. He even reached down for his pen again, but a groan escaped him, and he knew he couldnt hide his discomfort, strong as it was. He fell into panting as several of his coworkers approached, some with clipboards and notebooks, muttering and scribbling as they watched.
Mmmmm Connor groaned, feeling the pressure in his stomach start to cumulate. He spread his legs to make more room for what he knew was about to happen. Nrrrgghh His belly tightened and shifted forward, pressing into his lab coat, buttons popping one by one. It bulged outwards, pushing against his arms, and pressed harder into his legs. But mostly, it shifted forward, one inch, then two, three he lost count. His breasts heaved higher, and they were growing as well, rounder and fuller, nipples bulging and aching as they ran out of space within.
When it was over, Connor panted, looking up. He noticed that all of the scientists in the room had gathered around him, like he was a sideshow. One had even taken out a video camera to record the growth spurt. Connors sweaty body had burst free of his lab coat and was out in the open for them all to see, each mound flushed, nipples dripping sweat.
At seeing the spurt was over, most of them started heading back to their stations. Reed approached with a stethoscope and began to check Connors vitals.
Hope you all enjoyed that! Connor called after his retreating coworkers, ignoring as Reed pressed the stethoscope to his chest. No really! Bring a date next time!
8 Weeks
Connor had to endure weekly check-ups, as if he wasnt humiliated enough as it was.
He had to sit back and deal with colleagues doing exams, sonograms, touching, pressing, and patting his mass with stethoscopes. He sat still and waited for it to be over, fidgeting uncomfortably until he couldnt sit still.
Have to go to bathroom, Connor grumbled, just before the latest intern could reach down with her grubby little fingers. Though it was lie, Connor didnt want to give them the satisfaction of knowing what really was the problem.
Connor heaved himself up with some difficulty, his colleagues frowning as he waddled off. He entered the bathroom and carefully backed himself into a toilet stall, only to find himself hindered, his belly not fitting through. He gently tried to proceed into the stall, but to no avail. Releasing a frustrated huff, Connor went to the sink and grabbed a paper towel. He dabbed at the beads of sweat forming on his temple and his chest.
He could feel the familiar beginnings of pressure. He didnt know how long he had till it cumulated, but he didnt want to give the others the satisfaction of seeing him grow.
There was a knock on the door. Everything all right in there?
Connor huffed in irritation. He was surrounded by scientists every moment of every day, not given even a moment to breathe. They wanted access to him constantly. Hastily wiping at the sweat that had replaced the beads he had just dabbed off, Connor splashed his face with some cool water, then waddled back out of the bathroom.
When he returned to the exam room, his lab coat was promptly unbuttoned by the others, his round belly bulging through. It was truly getting massive. He looked like he had a full grown man curled up within his. Two interns started taking measurements, whispering excitedly amongst themselves. Another was writing some things down on a clipboard. Connor could feel his belly gently pulsating, the pressure slowly climbing. He simply took deep breaths, trying to ignore it. Hahhh hahhhhh
We have good news, said the intern with the clipboard. We have been ordered to get you started on weekly treatments of a new drug to help control your growth. Your body appears to be reacting strangely to this pregnancy, and the fetus is growing much faster than we anticipated, but its not developing at the rate we want it to.
His belly rising and falling, Connor nodded impatiently. He held his side, trying to keep the fetus relaxed, but the pressure was getting worse.
This drug should help put your growth on hold to give the fetus more time to properly develop over the next 22 months.
Youre leaving me like this for 22 months?? said Connor, trying his best to keep relaxed. Newly formed sweat glistened on his forehead.
Well, 2 years is the general duration of elephant pregnancy. We figured you knew.
Connor was breathing heavily, his patience wearing thin, and body on the cusp of losing control. Then why didnt you give it to me before I became the size of a blimp? he said.
Well we simply didnt think
Didnt think. He had to remain calm. Of course you didnt. Just give me the drug. He was beginning to sweat through his clothes, his lab coat sticking to his breasts, revealing his painfully distended nipples that only seemed to be bulging out more.
Of course, we just want to do a few more tests.
Give me the drug, said Connor impatiently, his body trembling.
Connor, are you al-
Connor clutched his abdomen. He couldnt hold it any longer. He groaned as his belly pushed outward, seeming to roll farther from his body. The table creaked as he struggled beneath his mass, his clothes seeming to shrink as his belly filled his lap, heaving his breasts higher, and pushing his arms aside. He almost felt like he was being squashed by a giant ball. The growth spurt stopped, but the pressure never subsided. Connor groaned and squirmed beneath his sweat-sleek mass. He hiccupped, and his belly swelled another inch. There was still more, but he was holding it the best he could. His breasts had popped out from the top of his lab coat, large as softballs, and feeling as though they would burst. His nipples ached, each the size of a grape. Connor reached up and instinctively kneaded them between his fingers, barely able to acknowledge as they started spurting milk. But there was nothing to relieve his stomach pressure. He hiccupped again, and experienced another two inches of belly growth, the table positively shuddering beneath him. Please, he said to the other interns who were gawking at him in astonishment. He covered his mouth as though this would fend off more hiccups and more growth. His body felt on the cusp of another full-blown spurt and he didnt know what he would do.
The intern with the clipboard lightly shook himself from his shocked state. Yes, right, he said, opening a drawer and finding a needle. He prepped Connors arm, then injected it was a clear fluid. Connor panted as he waited. Within a few minutes, he felt the pressure begin to subside. For a moment, he was so happy, he thought he might cry. But then he looked down at his flushed, bloated body, and leaking nipples. How was he supposed to live like this over the next two years?
9 Weeks
Connor was provided with maternity bras. Meanwhile, all the doorways and bathroom stalls were widened to make way for his mass. He was even constructed a small, attached apartment, for nights he was too weary to make the trip home. As much as he wanted to credit the organization for doing its best to accommodate him and keep him mobile, he couldnt help resenting the lab and everyone in it.
Connor mostly waddled about with the utmost awkwardness. Handles and grips had been affixed to various walls and fixtures for him to hold onto if he ever felt unbalanced. There was also a new protocol that he grab onto someones hand or shoulder if he ever felt dizzy, faint, or out of breath, but Connor refused to give anyone the pleasure of knowing how deeply they had imposed on his autonomy.
The growth hadnt stopped completely. They had measured a half an inch of growth since the previous week. Still, it was better. It had been slowed substantially, and there were no more spurts. The pressure was still present, and constant, but it never peaked. Connor could feel himself getting stronger, as he slowly learned to walk with his new encumbrance. He was prescribed physical therapy twice a week to strengthen his back and work on his gait. Though things were not by any means good, they were as well as he could expect them to be, given his predicament. Of course, none of this made up for the fact that his life was going to be on hold for almost two years.
Connor was to be accompanied by another intern any time he left the lab. Even when he went home, an intern was to be present, lurking about, and monitoring Connor as he uncomfortably tried to sleep.
His old bed was not very comfortable at all. The bed that had been provided for him at the lab was low, round, and sort of resembled a nest. The center was depressed, offering his belly support on the sides. It took three interns to get him out of it in the morning, but Connor was beginning to notice that he was spending more time at his work apartment than his real one.
He also noticed his body was still slowly changing. His bottom was plumpening, almost as though to counteract the weight of his massive belly. His briefs had really been the only thing that still relatively fit him, and it was disheartening to see them have to stretch more and more every day to accommodate his subtly swelling ass.
Though the lab had not yet crafted a coat that could accommodate his massive bellys size, he was left to wear the biggest one he had on hand. Only one button closed, which was beneath his breasts. His belly was left to nakedly protrude from the fabric, so massive, it was wider than he was, and he could not see the front of it. His breasts were shelved atop it, round, plump, and bulging almost entirely from the top of the lab coat, his nipples barely concealed. He found the bras to be uncomfortable, and often did not wear them, leaving the mounds on his chest to leak into the front of the lab coat, to the point that the fabric was transparent, thus rendering it all the more useless. He felt half-naked most of the time. He had no privacy left.
And despite all the people around him, Connor often felt lonely. He wondered what he would say to his family, or to Sam for that matter. And he wondered about Reed. Connor wondered why he often saw Reed watching him. Maybe she was mocking him. Maybe she was plotting.
