In THIS Economy?! - EARLY ACCESS, AD-FREE, & UNCENSORED
🕑 Added 2025-04-08 17:47:06 +0000 UTCHi. Uh oh! In this episode – which we wrote and shot before the current tariff/market troubles – we look at how the U.S. and other nations measure economic success, and how that often doesn't square with our individual experiences of The Economy.

Volker didn’t *have to* raise interest rates. He chose to do it because it was a useful way to crush unions.

The argument that we're measuring the success of capitalism while ignoring people's experience with it, hits the nail on the head. The current economic system has decimated the working class, and now is bleeding us dry with endless hidden fees, shittier customer experiences and products, and recurring subscriptions. Blood from a stone thing. I wonder if we are too dumb and lazy to do what needs to be done. With the current batch of ultra rich destroying the last opposition to their power, the fairly elected government, I think Mangione's action maybe the only fix.
