Androids: introductory lore, free adoptables & bases
🕑 Added 2022-12-22 18:29:58 +0000 UTCAndroids - sometimes referred to as synthetics - a product of a human technology developed by Tanero Robotics - Megacorporation from the Milky Way. Androids are fully sentient and capable of learning beyond their initial programming. They were created to aid humans in variety of tasks - from search and rescue, military services, power-demanding and dangerous works to civilian needs and entertainment. Their multipurpose resulted in them having from most basic to most wild modifications, which would look nothing like their creators - humans themselves.
Androids were made to participate in sports, theatres, festivals and parades. Were assigned jobs in hospitals, schools, offices, factories and facilities. Were individually sold as bodyguards, house maids, butlers, pleasure workers. Were sent to explore new worlds, defend existing frontiers. They were used for crash tests. They freeze. They melted. They collapsed under water's pressure. They corroded under acid rains. They were made to feel pain. They were pushed to the limits of pain perception. They are nothing more than senseless machines to their masters.
"Why would you make us feel pain? To resemble you? Then why don't you treat us equally?"
"You made us in your image, so we would emphasize with you. Yet you did nothing to empathize with us."
"You made us feel pain, so we would resemble you. And yet you are the ones who inflict that pain on us."
"You make us feel special when we are your first, yet you dispose of us when we need your help."
Androids were first brought to Arnainskiy Cross during initial face-to-face contact between human delegation and the T'egra's Union's Great Council. Bodyguards were allowed to escort their masters to the throne room within COS Asidaran 00-1 itself. It was the first time when they seen a society different to their own. A society that treated every being equally, - no matter of their origin.
After relations between the two galaxies were established, - the other one being the Milky Way - androids continued to accompany their creators spreading within the T'egra's Union's borders.
"Slaves" - that term described their position within human society. It was much cheaper to their masters to buy a new toy when the old one breaks. Tanero Robotics megacorporation made sure of that. New software, new hardware. Season specials, season exclusive deals. Contracts signed, and high prices for spare parts made the choice of choosing the replacement much easier for consumers.
There were ones who were opposed to the machine, yet they were swept under the rug. Silenced. Ones who remained collected the bodies. Sometimes stole. Some were possible to save. Some were lost. No parts went to waste.
When a word of a distant galaxy that welcomed everyone equally reached them, - they seen it as a beacon of hope. A tiny, almost unreachable until they found their support. It came from the most unlikely place. From Tanero Robotics - Megacorporation's inner circle. Not from humans, but from their security force.
The revolt took place during annual parade which allowed to gather as many androids in one place as possible. Security androids seized Tanero Robotics' head quarters. It was their chance to hijack android carrier - Shooting Star - a large flagship and leave. Not everyone made it, and not everyone agreed. Ones who did made sure to at least halt the production, if not to stop it completely - taking with them data cores which included codes to their existence. Their whole being.
It's been 4 years since they arrived in Arnainskiy Cross, taking refuge within T'egra's Union.
Shooting Star - the android carrier on which they escaped from the Milky Way - has been granted permission to dock within Asidaran 00-1's civilian docks free of charge, until they find their footing within the Arnainskiy Cross.
Most of the androids were able to find jobs joining a working class. Heavy lifting, deliveries, tedious works were not new to them. The main difference became the absence of their human masters. Androids, they... were happy? Confused? Lost?
While some took other paths. A part of Tanero Robotics' security force - one which organized the revolt - has joined T'egra's Fleet. Some joined private organizations, while some went as personal bodyguards. Whereas whereabouts of some are unknown.
Others took their places in jobs they knew the most - from sports, especially popular within T'egra's Union Galactic Games ( https://www.patreon.com/posts/galactic-games-23312900 ) - to service and entertainment ones.
As for pleasure workers - they also found their customers. While there were humans within Arnainskiy Cross - new generations had completely different views towards androids. Some even had no idea who they were. While some looked like they haven't belonged to the human race at all - with how much genetic modifications they went through to acclimatize themselves within the new galaxy and interspecies relations.
Androids themselves have almost endless variety of modifications, which would determine their looks. Body shapes can vary from petite dwarves to muscled, towering men. Curvy, lean. Feminine, androgynous, masculine, genderless. Their height varies from 1 to 3 meters tall. Their legs can include plantigrade, digitigrade or ungulates builds. They can have a vide variety of attachments - from accessories such as: horns, ears, tails, etc. - to weapons and sets of instruments. Wings and wing-looking attachments - like bat's or bird's - can carry only only cosmetic appeal, while jet engines and propulsion systems are fully functional. There is no limit to their colors, patterns and other decorative coating. Parts of their body are covered with a soft, synthetic, skin-imitating material. The material can be somewhat compared to a silicone with a matt finish, yet much more durable. Skin usually have seams running along arms and legs, which would open up and reveal artificial muscles underneath. It allows for an easier maintenance access, as well as cleaning, replacement of wear and tear or new customization options.
Androids' power core is situated within their upper torso. On low to moderate usage they can function multiple years without energy replenishment. While the sources for their energy may wary depending from their model and type. Some use radiant energy, some - electrical, chemical, and even nuclear energy to function. Fortunately for androids, those types are widely available within the Union, as well as Shooting Star having recharge stations on board.
Speaking of society's underbelly, some androids found themselves on black markets. Whole, or dismantled. Most sought for models were brutes for their immense power, - demolition models which were used in fighting pits. Pleasure workers with stunning looks. Cute, submissive models. Black markets were no strangers to making their own - Frankenstein-style - models out of various body parts. They usually found themselves serving as criminal organizations' leash dogs. Pricey, yet useful, and yet disposable. When escaping from the Milky Way, some androids took their robotic companions with them - from rats, snakes, to cats, dogs and a few more exotic models. Due to their scarcity, companions became a very sought for item on the black market, making them more of a collector's item, than having any useful appliance.
Some androids still choose to wear Tanero Robotics' logo, albeit, a smeared version of it as a token of their protest against the Megacorporation. Most of them removed it or covered with paint, while a few still have it intact. All of them have their reasons, or even the lack of thereof.
At the present time, androids can't reproduce nor make more of their kind. While the Shooting Star has spare parts and full body shells, - it lacks equipment to use the data cores which androids took from Tanero's HQ.
Fortunate for androids, little repair shops were rising to accommodate their needs. For the past four years they learned a great deal of interspecies communications and scars from their past life began to heal. In some quicker, than in others.

With this I have to say that the introductory lore for androids is now complete. From this moment on you are free to create your own androids and - something I'd very much like to see - share them with us~
As promised, androids shown here are up for grabs! The colored versions will be send on first come first served basis (except for basic - he falls into the next category), while b/w versions are unlimited~
For now the race is only open for Patrons - in the future it may or may not change. Refrain from selling the bases/colored versions if they have no more additional works to go with them. Credit me/my Patreon or FA if posting colored version or one including the b/w base. Other than that - have fun with creating your own characters! UwU
To claim colored versions note me directly/leave a message in general chat in our Discord Server or under this post on Patreon!~
