Also, surprise-surprise, there are day and night! And everything in-between, that I still haven't laid my hands on.
Some notes: It's so exciting to see how a barren world (in terms of previous execution) comes to life. All those shadows, reflections, are simple fundamentals at its core. Cones, spheres, cubes. It's really important to invest your time in them, and now I see why - the difference is huge, what else could be better than an immersive feeling to the art piece.
More notes: Looks like I stopped being a stubborn mule and allowed myself to look back and accept old failures with an open heart.
Far in the past my first experience with fundamentals was more than unpleasant, and after a few years of stress I decided to not to touch it ever again, make my own way. For the most part it worked out well, I've strengthened my passion to creatures, alien characters. The improvements were slow, yet with every new year they were more and more visible. Okay, I decided to myself, now I want to make something else besides organic characters. And so I tried to make a cool-looking robot, and know what? It looked like a piece of doo-doo. Well, I was thinking, probably it's just something that's not for me. It's fine, it happens to everyone. Then I tried to make a landscape. It failed. After a few more tries I had the same thought, it's just not for me, too. Then there was a time when I wanted to draw an awesome space station on Sitan's orbit, and, as you already guessed, the same thing happened to it as well as to everything before it. Even to clothes, because they looked awful and covered all of my neatly made bodies, and so my creatures and races were nudists in 99% of cases (and I'm still kinda guilty of it). So now you might ask why do I say all of that? The truth is, I don't know. I had a fear of fundamentals, perspective and straight lines for so many years that I almost gave up on myself, until now. This Patreon page gave me confidence, a place where I can put my thoughts out, share my world. You gave me that confidence. Even if we don't engage directly that much, it's comforting to know that somewhere in the world there are awesome people, and for them, for you, I've been able to overcome my fears, and now I'm sharing that ragged story. If you ever think that you can't do something, it's not true, you can. Find a way to overcome your fears, turn a weakness into a strength. Be a mule, not the one who denies and runs away for miles without a rest, as it was with me, but one who acts no matter what, and succeeds.
Back to reality: Well, that was quite a mind flow, thank you for sticking by!
Never guessed that I would ever enjoy looking at my landscapes, and now it feels so weird that my brain totally melted down after so much struggle and effort that it took me to process these.
