Matrix nests: info
🕑 Added 2018-01-16 17:20:45 +0000 UTC Matrix nests or, as it was mentioned earlier, places of growth of matrices (from now and on I will use word "nest" for describing that place). So as you already know - matrices are core to Ancients' technologies as much as frame threads (it's purified frame plants, for more - search for "intro"), and of course there need to be something by which help (and how) these spheres could be reproduced. By using existed ingredients such as igriyeras (animals; there was needed its liquid) and frame plants Ancients created half-synthetic plants (something between wild frame plants and purified frame threads) which were blooming (literally) with tiny matrices.
From small and jelly-like bubbles to huge spaceships' engines will be a long way for matrix to fully grow up. But there will be one more much needed "ingredient" - custodian. Ancients by its nature not a nannies, so such work as take care for each matrix was too exhausting for them, and that's why biologists found another way to protect fetuses - hire a real babysitters. And these nannies were creatures from Ancients' home planet - khard'aals (top right sketch). With strong maternal instincts they were an ideal option (also they are hermaphrodites, as much as all creatures on Reagkhay - Ancients' home planet, but not including Ancients themselves). And main thing - they perceived matrices as their own eggs, so after they replaced soldiers there were no more cases of matrices damage.
