MAP DESCRIPTION
The great hall of the Pyramid that we encountered in the previous map, the Pyramid Entrance, shows itself to us in its glory. The decorated and opulent environment tells us about the great riches of the Pharaoh who had it erected, and makes us wonder what treasures may be hidden inside, on the lower floors, where the Pharaoh rests.
Great statues of deities judge and observe us, and painted on the walls we find beautiful hieroglyphs that tell us about past eras.
On the floor, a bas-relief of a balance is displayed: on one of the plates is placed a feather, while on the other, a drop. But what should be weighed? And what will happen if the result is not positive?
NOTES
- For this map we have heavily drawn inspiration from Egyptian tradition and, specifically, from the famous Book of the Dead. We recommend DMs to recover its basic notions to fully enjoy the atmosphere and details we have included!
- On the bas-relief of the Golden Scale in the center of the room it is possible to let blood flow, which belongs or not to a member of the Party may not be important, into the drop-shaped hollow on the right scale plate. By doing so, the Judgment of the Gods will begin, which will decide whether or not the party is worthy of accessing the lower floor.
- Choosing wisely who will be judged by blood is important. The Necromancer or Thief may not be the right people to have their morals evaluated xD
- In case of success in passing this test, if you are considered worthy, doors will open for you without problems.
- If the Judgment fails, the mummies guarding the room will awaken, coming out of their sarcophagi and attacking the Party. At that point, after defeating them, the test will be considered passed or not at the Master's discretion.
- In addition to the Mummies, sand piles and vases can hide many dangers, such as scorpions or venomous snakes.
- To increase the difficulty of the challenge, various types of monsters could also emerge from the secret passage and from outside the pyramid, in case of groups for which some mummy should prove to be an unsatisfactory battle.
Forgive us for the slowness in producing content, dear Fellow Darkish. Unfortunately, our other work still does not allow us to create our beloved maps full-time, but we do not want to sacrifice the quality of our work just to post more.
From October onwards, however, we will start being regular as always, and we have a lot of projects in mind that we can't wait to realize and let you discover!
Fortunately, you are starting to become many, and we hope to soon celebrate with you the 500 subscribers, which would be the goal with which we could work only on this beloved project š We hope that moment comes soon because we really want to dedicate soul and body to Darkest Maps and aim higher and higher together with all of you!
Apart from this, we hope that this second part of the Ancient Pyramid Series is pleasing you and that you are satisfied with the result of that famous August Poll.
