"Sergeant Cage! Are you playing with your phone?" Sonya Blade barked.
"Huh? Oh, yeah. Your dumb speech was boring me to death," Cassie said, still not looking up as she tapped away at her screen. Her lack of attentiveness wasn't the only thing that distinguished her from the other Special Forces soldiers she stood beside. Her outfit was far more casual, wearing a tank-top and tight jean shorts as opposed to fatigues, in defiance of the dress code. Her revealing attire also showed off her physique, which was the other major differentiator. In stark contrast to the figure of, for example, her own mother Sonya Blade, Cassie was visibly out of shape. A round, distended potbelly peaked out conspicuously from beneath her tank top. That same tank-top hadn't been washed in a while, if the blotchy, dank yellow patches beneath her armpits were any indication. The other soldiers made sure to allow her an extra few feet of space to avoid the sultry smell of sweat that radiated from her body.
"Miss Cage, need I remind you that you've already received several citations for your attitude, behavior, and...smell," Sonya said, trying her best to address her daughter as she would any other soldier. It was important that she remain objective for the sake of fairness, although there was still a part of her that wanted to address Cassie as her mother. "Not to mention you clearly been ignoring your required diet and exercise."
"Yeah, whatever," Cassie said, eyes rolling behind her sunglasses. "Can you just finish your stupid speech so I can leave."
Sensing that this was getting nowhere, Sonya continued her speech where she'd left off. As obnoxious as Cassie was being, it wasn't right to let her ruin it for everyone else.
"As you all know, Earthrealm has faced several threats over the past few years, and each time we-" (BELCH)
It wasn't long before Cassie had produced another disturbance. This one came in three stages: it started with a loud rustling as Cassie withdrew a thick, greasy burger from a paper bag. It was then followed by repulsive noisy chewing and wet lip smacking, before finally culminating in an enormous meaty belch. Sonya tried to continue on despite the impossibly impolite uproar from Cassie's throat, only to be interrupted mere seconds later by another equally rank eructation. It was as if every time Sonya spoke a timer began to count down until Cassie unleashed her next eruption.
It quickly reached a point where Sonya simply couldn't take it anymore, and she was left with no choice but to confront her directly, mother-to-daughter, with all the military formalities put aside. A wave of nervous second-hand embarrassment washed over the other soldiers, as they watched Sonya step forward to confront Cassie at the front of their formation.
"Ms. Cage, your behavior lately has been beyond unacceptable! You haven't taken a bath in weeks, you have no manners, and you're constantly stuffing your face full of junk! I can't believe I raised such a disgusting slob of a daughter!"
"Hey, I have not put on weight!" Cassie said through a mouthful of burger, after cramming the last of it into her puffed-out cheeks. "I need those calories to keep up my strength, duh. You know, fuel my muscles and stuff."
"Muscles? Is this what you mean by muscles?" Sonya snapped back, reaching out and grabbing Cassie's gut by its love handles, and jiggling her wobbly potbelly around for all to see. This was quickly revealed to be a mistake on Sonya's part, as jostling Cassie's turbulent tummy was enough to dislodge a bubble of gas that rapidly rose up through her throat and exploded uncontrollably out of her mouth. (BELCH)
A hot, reeking wave of stale beef and cheese was blasted right into Sonya's unsuspecting face. The greasy gutfunk shot right up her nostrils, and filled her lungs with sickening stench. It was enough to make even the seasoned soldier double over and gag in disgust.
"Hey, it's not my fault," Cassie said, shoving a fistful of fries down her gullet. "You're the one who was fondling my gut."
