The Heaven Gate — Through the Crown

At the opposite end of the psychic body lies the portal to the heavenly realms, located just above the crown of the head. This apex mirrors the Root Gate: where the lower realms open downward into the depths of Earth, this gateway opens upward into spacious, radiant dimensions of spirit.
If the primal realms are steady, rooted, and ancient, these upper realms are quick, brilliant, and light-filled. Here, thought manifests instantly. Time becomes fluid or irrelevant. Communication occurs through pure knowing. The beings who dwell here are not “better” than embodied souls — but they are typically more expansive, harmonious, and attuned to what many call higher qualities: compassion, intelligence, clarity, peace.
Different cultures have tried to describe this gateway in the top of the head:
Yogic traditions describe this as Sahasrāra, the thousand-petaled lotus. It represents the flowering of consciousness, where the small self dissolves into the great Self.
Tantric texts call the opening itself Brahmarandhra, the “aperture of Brahma,” through which souls enter at birth and depart at death.
Kabbalists name it Kether, the crown of the Tree of Life — pure potential, the source of all other emanations.
Christian mystics depict saints with halos, rings of uncreated light signifying union with the Divine.
Buddhist iconography shows enlightened beings with an ushnisha, a cranial opening or flame of illumination rising skyward.
Ancient Egyptians wore tall ceremonial crowns symbolizing the meeting place of heaven and earth — divine authority descending through the head.
Indigenous North and South American cosmologies speak of a sky cord or star pathway through which wisdom keepers commune with celestial ancestors.
Mystery schools of Greece and Persia referred to the crown as the gate of the gods, where heroes ascend to realms of immortality.
Different languages, same truth: this is the gate of transcendence — where individuality thins and the soul remembers its origin in the Infinite.
When awareness rises through the crown, we may meet radiant intelligences across the spectrum of light: gods and devas, angels and bodhisattvas, enlightened masters, ancestors of high virtue, and what some might call off-planet allies — beings whose evolution unfolded on other worlds. Whether you understand them as literal or archetypal, their function is the same: to teach, to heal, to remind us of the vastness we carry inside.
Yet the greatest gift of this portal is not the beings we may encounter — it is the felt experience of Oneness. It is the dissolution of the contracted “I,” the spacious recognition that all life is interconnected and made of the same divine substance. This is where we taste the truth that underlies every mystic tradition: we are not separate from Source — we are expressions of it.
You may feel this gate activate as tingling along the scalp, a gentle pressure at the top of the head, a vertical column of subtle light, or a soft glow behind the eyelids. You may sense a presence. Or you may simply feel clarity and peace — which is itself a form of revelation. Above all, do not force anything. What is subtle reveals itself through trust and receptivity.
To access this portal, sit with a tall, erect spine, and bring your focus first to the bottom of your hips. Feel the earth beneath you. Sense its patience, its ancient steadiness. Envision yourself rooting down into the land in gratitude and trust. Only with the ground’s blessing can we ascend.
Then, allow your mind’s eye to rise up to the very top of your skull. Feel for the “soft spot”—the fontanelle, the membrane that stayed pliable long after birth—and imagine a round opening or aperture blossoming there. Sense a light above and beyond you: a subtle radiance drawing you upward. The direction of this gate is up and out in all directions—vast, radiant, boundless.
Rather than trying to climb out, allow yourself to diffuse outward. Let your awareness soften and expand. Imagine yourself like smoke rising from incense, drifting toward the unseen currents above. Or, if you prefer, see yourself as weightless—swimming upward without effort, carried by luminous tides. Some may envision a golden platform lifting them skyward; others simply feel themselves growing larger than the body.
Feel yourself move through successive, subtle layers of light. Each layer a different octave of reality: iridescent, crystalline, silken, timeless. If you have a particular destination—something you long to see, know, or understand—ask for it gently. Ask to meet your guides, a luminous being, a protector, a high-vibratory ancestor. Many of the greatest spiritual teachers across history and myth can be encountered here. If a certain deity or cosmic presence calls to your heart, name them and wait.
Or, if you prefer not to seek anything specific, simply dwell in the peace of this place. Let the healing resonance of light wash through your field. You may ask to glimpse Source itself—the great presence that births and receives all existence. It often appears as a horizonless ocean of everythingness, close and yet infinitely wide.
Whatever arises—visions, symbols, sensation, or silence—allow it. This realm communicates through subtlety. Sometimes the stillness is the teaching.
When you’ve received what you came for, pause and offer gratitude. A bow of the heart is enough. Then return gently: feel your feet, feel your hips, feel the weight of your body supported. Take a slow breath deep into your belly and chest. You don’t need to retrace a path—simply remember that your awareness never left the body; it only expanded.
Rest a moment with your eyes closed, integrating the light into your marrow. When you’re ready, open your eyes. Allow yourself to be changed by this vastness.
