What do you do when alone in the evening?
🕑 Added 2025-07-14 03:59:43 +0000 UTCTonight I had the pleasure to sit alone, listen to a audiobook by one of my favorite spiritual authors, do mantra, and make a mala for Shiva.
I often don’t talk about my own sacred practices because they don’t feel like they fit for public consumption… I’d rather talk about digestible things that people in the public and understand. But for you, my patrons, I think you can appreciate how lovely it is to spend an evening in sacred work not caring if anyone else will appreciate it.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to whisper prayers as I knot rudraksha seeds and turquoise beads, and offer them onto the statue of my beloved shiva.

Knitting + audiobook + tea for me. This is how I wind down. I turn off my devices and listen to the audiobook on a small speaker or pods, and knit until bed time. The point is to have me time, stop doom scrolling, and turn in before bed. Then I'll sit to meditate and pray, before turning off the lights. Simple. Quiet. Love it!

I watch television, I know that is not a spiritual answer but my husband watches sports and dominates the TV with hockey and baseball. I want to be near him so I watch too. I have paid attention so I know those sports more than I probably need to...but I love the guy. When I am alone I watch the TV shows I want to want to watch when he is home. Somwtimes, when I am feeling ike it, I watch porn.. Agaiin , not exactly a spiritual practice (unless it's full of exclamitoms like Oh My God! and Oh GOD It's sp big!!) !) Otherwise I just curl up with a good book. I am learning to ,meditate and I imagine I'll need to oontinue with that when I am by myself, too. Cal
