Harry announcing that he would be fighting the goblins no matter what feels like a strategic mistake. Members of the Wizard's Council could hold back any men they have waiting for Harry's forces to be diminished. Assuming they're not taking the matter as seriously as he is, that they need all of them to defeat the goblins.

It is amazing how many have had the same foolish notions. when it comes to dealing with Harry. They all say some variation of "I shall... (such and such in such in such way)" From Grindy, to Tom, to the bigots of the "Wizard's Council" and now the goblins. They all end up the same. Dead.
