Termac

That may be the same blaze bear Xiulan killed.

Lettered Wolf

I enjoyed this. Only thing we're missing is a snippet of the blazebear from ch13 warning other spirit beasts away from the area. I do agree with some of the sentiment here that thematically this is more of a prelude than epilogue but those are split hairs that don't matter.

Dark

Dear sad cat diary it has been four days since the great god casualfarmer has left us, I do not know if i can withstand the loss for much longer before i descend into madness. Already the walls speak to me saying they know the location of Jin and that i should follow them...... I tried, the walls did not moved and i ended up walking into one.

serguzzle

I disagree, it doesn't feel any less positive. Perhaps a little foreboding, but that's foreshadowing; it doesn't have any negative connotations to it, but it does ratchet up tension for the next arc a bit as we have some insights on what challenges we'll face.

Chong Go

As an epilogue, this doesn't work for me. The energy is too different from the positive style of the rest of the book. It'd be a great opening chapter for the second book, but it kind of "stains" all of the lighthearted spirit of the first book to end on that point.

Hauke Winter

I already feel bad for the magistrate

Sassy

But will they be able to penetrate his heaven defining disguise of changing his name form Jin Rou to Rou Jin?

RepossessedSoul

Really strong epilogue. I look forward to what you have next in store.

Matt

Oooo that would just give the Lord Magistrate such bad heartburn. I can't wait to see it! This is the best kind of epilogue, it creates tension and anticipation for Book 2. Love it!

Khress

Damm, nice epiloge. I really enoiy your story. Have a great week off! PS: i would love if the next power up reveleation of Bi De is telling him not to dislike the sun. Because the moon shine is only the relfexion of the sun

Gramps! I get it now. I didn't connect the vicious demon killer with the image Jin seemed to have of him. That's pretty great.

I'll have to reread then, thanks. I'm surprised how much I like the story, peaceful days stuff isn't usually for me, but this is by far my favorite right now.

Robert Mullins

This was already foreshadowed. The only thing that wasn't foreshadowed arguably was the importance of the old man. And even that could be argued since he was able to get a homeless nobody into a major sect with just a few years of training.

Casualfarmer

Jin has talked about him a few times. Hes Jin's "Gramps" Who took him in after he was orphaned, taught him how to cultivate, and then left suddenly.

Keifru

The dramatic irony is *palpable*. I, for one, can't wait to see what shennanigans are gotten up to next. Put me down for 10$-long that the Old Man will be convinced to take up farming and find more enjoyment from that than schlep'ing around at the Imperial's command.

Hauke Winter

He has all of dead Jin's memories. There already was a scene about the old man when he talked about how he came the the sect.

closeded

Either way, I think the story would benefit from a little foreshadowing for this done way back when Jin was still leaving the sect. Right now, it feels like a really big deal that just came out of nowhere. Unless there was foreshadowing and I just missed it, or forgot?

closeded

Jin should remember the old man, right? Being someone's disciple seems like a big deal. Or does he not have all of dead Jin's memories?

Robert Mullins

Looks like Jin will be drawing attention again precisely because of how he left.
